I don't know if this is the tribe that R Mutt was referring to in the MLA forum but I'll throw it out here as well since it looks like he hasn't yet..
I am trying to gather forces to assist/direct/push a print version of the quarterly. I am donating time and resources to get this out as a free edition. Bobby is already working on a cover and he and R Mutt have made some suggestions as to what should be included. Bogus has asked a slew of intelligent questions in the forum and I have answered them to the best of my ability.
I don't have permission from Admin - don't know if I need it since it is an amalgam of individual contributions- asking anyway - but was thinking this would be released under copyleft or creative commons.
Please throw your hats in the ring - this is everybody's chance to get RAW'centric thought (through all your wonderful contributions) out there to a possibly new audience and since I am only the facilitator, I am really hoping for much of the input from all you creative types.
peace,
Chris (el8ed1)

Re: Maybe Print Redux
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 4:35 PMI should first of all admit that R Mutt and Bogus Magus both inhabit the same body - they form different aspects of the same 'real' person (mischievous but true). Apart from the nod in the direction of Marcel Duchamp (who signed his famous urinal "Fountain" with the name R Mutt - and who also had a female avatar called Rrose Selavy) I got a different avatar in MLA way back when for a multitude of reasons, and every now and then he seems to go post there instead of Bogus. They even heckle each other, occasionally.
Phew.
The print edition of MQ seems like a great idea to me, although it will involve difficult choices from the 14 editions of material.
By the way - MLA 5.0 has gone up, incorporating Only Maybe, the Illuminatus! Wiki, etc.
Sadly, I still get slow loading of the forums (which drove several people out here to Tribe in the first place!) Maybe US servers update overnight (major access time in the UK timezone)?
Still, we'll keep the old and complex OM blog online as an archive, even as we embrace the newborn.
Anyone seriously interested in one of their MQ pieces appearing in the print edition should email me on bogusm@gmail.com to get copied into the group emails (possibly the most reliable way to keep up with the story) if the Forums don't speed up soon. Otherwise, go log into MLA and look for the Maybe Print Redux thread.
Even if you didn't write/draw something, you could vote for it. Let's do this! Chris has offered us a one-off chance to have paper copies to distribute to friends and local bookshops...why don't we do it and spread the word?
Oh, and don't forget to contribute to the Summer Solstice edition of the online MQ #15.... :-)
In brief - we have to select items from the MQ run which would fit into a free print edition (a long-term dream, that dates back to the very first edition, under Kentroversy's editorship). The old OM has an index of all the contributions, which I will try to analyse into author, word count, etc - but the easiest way to reduce the information overload seems like each contributor picking their ONE favourite piece (preferably one of their shorter ones, unless they want to edit, or do an extract, etc.)
