They are a size Small, inseam is 33". I've only tried them on myself, Etain said she'd had them forever and worn them twice.
They are in great condition, they are not stretched and are still white! The edge of the pants may be a bit fuzzy from wear but not frayed and not coming undone!

Spiral Melos & Other fantastic noms!

In less than two weeks I will be moving from PA to Southern Cali with my boy =) Needless to say this is going to be a very expensive adventure so as much as it pains me I am selling some of my own personal goodies to get some more moving money. Usually I would post these things on Etsy but because of my time crunch I'm hoping this will yield faster sales. All prices include continental US shipping. So here's what I got:

Antique Assuit- Cream with silver. In good condition. It did have some nasty holes in the center but I sewed them up pretty well. There's also a small hole & next to that a small brown patch of discolor. I never tried to clean it because it was so minor. It could possibly come out with a cleaning. Due to the damaged areas I am only asking $215 for tihs piece. Although honestly it is hardly noticeable when you're wearing it. Especially if you layer belts & such over top.

New black Assuit- This piece is not antique but still makes an amazing costuming piece. Perfect as a cover up or hip shawl. Only $45

Melodia by Phoenix Rising spiral pants- In like new condition! Hardly worn. size S 31. $75

Hanaan Tribal Pants- Amazing pants by Hanaan Tribal. The bottoms do a can can skirt kind of thing with layers of fishnet. The front is shorter, comes just below the knee, to show off your boots! Only worn once. $50

1940's Chinese brocade robe- I used this as a cover up =) It's a pristine condition robe from the 1940's (guestimate) in gorgeous green brocade. Has functional front pockets. Belt is included. Also has inside ties to more securely tie it. When I wore it as a cover up I would just use the inside ties & not wear the belt. $65

Two huge Kuchi bead discs- In great condition! I had these on the hip part of a belt & it looked amazing =) $35 for both

Two rare antique Thai tassels- These incredibly unique applique tassels are from Thailand. They are made of gorgeous brocade on black velvet. The pink dangles are plastic & make a wonderful light clinking sound. The backs are lined with beautiful floral fabric. These could be used many ways. I personally had them dangling off of a belt. In fantastic condition! $50 for both

Huge Kuchi double finger ring- I love this ring but it's just too big on me =( Made of mixed metals with a green glass stone in the front. Never worn. $25

Chinese hair comb- Gorgeous comb made of mixed metals. Has chinese designs all over & adorned with garnet glass. Both front & back are identical. $25

Edgar Allen Poe Raven hair clip- Very unique! Glass cobochon with a photo of a Raven with Edgar Allen Poe's poem in the center of a black flower. Gorgeous bright blue, green/black irridecent feather plume. Very well made! $30

Melodia's in L for Sale

Hi Everyone, I have way too many Melos and not enough sense. Heh.

Selling some used Melodias in large-they have been washed and dried. All of them are a 32/33 inseam. I have: Gray fringies L 30$, pin stripes and tie top L 70, velvet patterned fauxlos never worn size 12/14 in a green and rose pattern 30$, brown fringies L 35$. Prices reflect wear. Adding as I go through the 'other' closet...I have some hamburgler/jailbird Geisha Moth pants for 30$ in size small regular (these are very stretchy and fit me at a size 10 or 12. I also have a pair of jailbird BoPeeps from a maker on Etsy who no longer sells them for 30$. They are labeled large but fit more like a small/medium. The fabric on both of these is like a stretchy but not shiny knit. It appears yellow and black but it's actually white and black.

Anyone else put-off by Melodia Designs these days?

Ok,

I've been a Melodia consumer since 2004, when it was still near-impossible to get a pair of melodia pants unless you somehow contacted one of her retail representatives. No website, no ebay, no nothing except maybe this tribe.

I've spent many pretty pennies on these pants, and I understand that her business has been growing and there are lots of obstacles along the way, but I'm frustrated because:

-Melo pants have gotten way expensive. I understand its a bad economy, and that her business is expanding and costing more, etc. but $80 bucks a pop for the original styles plus $10 shipping is a lot!

-Melodia designs has a super loyal fanbase here on tribe, but even in this 'Official Tribe' we're not getting updates at all!! I had no clue that the new website had launched, or that they're currently having a 40% off sale! I think someone needs to moderate this tribe and tell us what's going on if they want us to buy their designs. Is that so much to ask?

-Again, I know her business is growing, but I checked my new organic pants, and they're now MADE IN CHINA. Disappointing to say the least. I liked it better when Melodia designs were produced in the USA. Obviously its cheaper to make friggin everything in China, but I think this is kindof selling out. At least if they're made in China, I figure they'd cost less for the consumer, which doesn't seem to be the case either.

I know that this is a huge rant, but I'm wondering if anyone else feels this way. I'm just merely expressing my opinions, so please don't rip me a new one for this.

XL35 Ribbon Mesh Pinstripes - Yes, I'm actually selling these. S33 Blue Jean Minis for sale - one for the UKers!

Just a quick note to say I'm selling my Blue Jean 'Mini'-style Melos (size S33), which as we all know, look great when worn bellydancing, doing yoga, hooping, Nia etc. etc. . I got them, wore them once for a hoop session, but have decided that for now, I'm more of a sash girl! So I would like to sell them to someone who really wants them. After I wore them, they were carefully hand-washed and air dried. They're on eBay at the moment, but I'm putting notice on here in case anyone in the UK might like a pair. I have read through all of the replies to this post and would like to address many of the issues discussed here. First, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for being such amazing customers. We are taking every comment and complaint to heart and will do everything in power to resolve these issues, if they haven't been already.

As far as Tribe goes, there was a long stretch of time that we could not even log into Tribe. That made it very difficult to keep up with everything. Due to log in issues and connection issues, we started using other avenues to communicate, like Facebook and email. In this process of moving forward, we stopped checking Tribe and for that we apologize. There are 2 of us here everyday, Susan and myself, and that is it. We try to stay on top of everything, but it also gets quite confusing when we receive messages through ebay, email, Tribe, Facebook and even voicemail all from the same customer. We have been trying to streamline and work just through email and Facebook so that nothing slips through the cracks. However, we realize from this posting that we need to keep Tribe in the loop and we are very sorry you have felt neglected here. We would like to encourage you to join our Facebook fanpage as well. As far as joining our mailing list goes.... please follow this link to the website, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your email address: http://www.melodiadesigns.com/faqs.html. We are now sending out Newsletters and frequently send out coupon codes through this mailing list.

Shipping charges and customs..... We know that there was a price increase in shipping, especially for international customers as we switched from the postal service to UPS. Please know that we do not make ANY profit on shipping. We have been working hard to lower the rates to match the postal service, but with all the service benefits of UPS. It is no exaggeration when I tell you that we had a stretch of time this past summer when DOZENS of international packages went missing with no reconciliation from the postal service. This is not to mention the dozens of other packages that made it to their destination but took 2-3 weeks to arrive. We felt that it was in everyone's best interest to switch to a more reliable, faster service like UPS. For those of you in Canada, there is an option on the website for "UPS standard" shipping which is very close to postal service rates with guaranteed delivery dates. As the business grows, we also have to be very careful that customs documents are filled out properly. We know this means more money out of pocket for many of you, but this out of our hands. We have been running more sales and incentives to try and make up for some of these extra charges.

Quality... Our cotton/lycra pants have always been made here in San Diego (and still are), and we have used the same fabric supplier and sewing team for years. I am not sure how the quality could have changed with this line. We would like to hear from people individually that had problems with these pants. We did do our first Organic Bamboo production in China, because that is where bamboo fabric is made. At this time there is no bamboo fabric being produced in the states. However, we are proud to tell you that we are now having fabric shipped to us and bringing our next production back home to Southern California. We have also sourced a new supplier for the Organic Bamboo Cotton Lycra Fabric and it is a heavier, more structured blend like the old cotton/lycra. The new line available on the website is made from this fabric. We are really pleased with it, and know you will be too! Please check it out! The price of the bamboo pants is higher as this fabric is considerably more expensive. We feel it is important to continue to move forward with green business practices. Hopefully as the demand for new eco-fibers increases, the cost will go down.

We hope that this gives some explanation to what has been going on. We wouldn't be here without you and thank you all for your support over the years. We will be sure to keep up with posts on Tribe, but again encourage you to check out Facebook and also join the mailing list. BLINGED Melophoenix XL Peacocks for Sale!

They are COVERED in real swarovski crystal rhinestones, no plastic here or even the cheaper crystal ones! I painstakingly matched the colors of the rhinestones to the shading of the colors on the feathers; you can see a closeup pic of the pants in progress (the blue stones were all on, was in the middle of adding the green and the purple hadn't been started yet): http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a106/A_Dark_Horse/100_2701.jpg The pic does not capture the crazy sparkliness that is these pants; you all know rhinestones are notoriously hard to photograph up close (and I am a craptastic photographer!). These have been sitting in my closet unused & need someone who will make good use of them!

FYI these pants are WASHABLE! Yep! The adhesive I used for the stones is completely safe to wash so you only need to worry about washing the pants the way the maker suggests: Machine wash cold ~ Hand Dry.

New Faux Assuit Melodia Top and Pants for sale

New Faux Assuit top and Pants for Sale
Beautiful work by Melodia. The top is one size.
Pants are a L33 (large, 33 inch inseam) but they are generously long (inseam measures closer to 34 inches lying flat) as well as the material for these is slinky and stretchy. Very comfortable and soft.
The sparkly areas have an iridescence to them. Very nice.
$125 for the set, includes shipping for CONUS (Continental United States). Individually, the top is $25 +$5.75 shipping and the pants are $100 + $9.60 shipping (CONUS). I will ship internationally but I'll have to check on the rates first. Thanks for looking!

2 pairs of rare Melo-Phoenix pants!

I have these 2 pairs of pants. They are both the nice, thick Melo Phoenix fabric and size M. The first pair is one that I've never seen another pair of. They are a dark purple and olive-y green tie-dye looking batik with a foldover waist. My friend wore them once and they have sat lonely in my closet ever since. The second are the black and grey Mehndi design, but they are fringe pants instead of the foldover waist. Worn maybe twice. They are both way too long on me, but it just kinda seems a crime to alter them. $100 each. I'm only going to post pics if anyone is remotely interested, so let me know ;)

XL Melos for sale

Losing weight is GREAT accept for the fact that ones beloved pants no longer fit. So my loss is your gain. I can’t keep them lonely and unworn in my closet anymore. All these pant are from a non smoking home and have NEVER seen the inside of a dryer. They have been lovingly washed in a lingerie bag in cold water and very well cared for.
NO PILLING, I repeat not one ounce of pilling in these amazing pants. Come and get em while you can!

Charcoal tribal spirals S31 $100

Still in very good condition, not very well used. I've shortened them to 31" instead of 32", and redid the lettuce edging. I also removed the elastic and put the waistband back on, so no more muffin top!

so i found out that someone stole my beloved black mini´s:-( One message to this person: In Europe we say that the mills of god are slow, but working fine...

Anyway, i need a replacement as we will use black pants in our choreos a lot in the future...They can be used, even with holes and iron burns, doesnt matter, ill fix it. they just need to be black and XL35 or min.33

So I finally bought a pair of sashes, and was excited to get them in the mail yesterday. I have a pair of the fringe pants and they fit perfectly, so i ordered the sashes in the same size, thinking they would fit. wrong. the XL sashes feel like a small-ish L. Unfortunately, they were purchased in the sale and are non-returnable. so.. I have 2 questions.

1. Has anyone else experianced this, or does the tyle make *that* big of a difference?

2. Does any one have any experiance alteriing these in anyway? Any tips or suggestions?

I love my first pair and would really like to be able to wear the new ones, so any help would rocks :-)
