Okay, all you old-timer Agoura campers-out.
This request in from my friend Jay Goodman (former tight-rope walker and belly dancer of the John Compton/Bal Anat era, let's say mid-70 just for the ol' hey ho. Jay also was the performed of the somewhat politically incorrect tight-rope walker in drag at Dickens during the same period. He's not someone you'd forget easily, to be sure! Used to trot around with a small sewing machine on top of a basket on top of his head if that helps. A true Gypsy.)
Here's the question.
Does anyone else remember (aside the the small group with whom Jay was hanging at the time) a late evening when, looking west, towards the ocean, there was a huge UFO-ish object in the sky which spawned little UFO-lettes, sort of like spider-ettes.
Jay recalls watching this, and then, eventually turning to his friends and saying "Do you see what I'm seeing?" To which they responded, "Yes! We thought we were only ones!!!!" For once he claims no drugs were involved, and, just recently he saw something on TV which matched his description to a T.
Jay's not a Triber (in spite of my best efforts), but I volunteered to ask.

Re: Request from Outer Space re Outer Space
Sun, May 25, 2008 - 2:16 PMI remember something about the sewing machine in the little basket (and why isn't he at Dickens now, in drag?)---I also remember a wave of UFO sightings about that time: at the Faire we were on Heart Attack Hill late one night and I was sitting facing my troopers who were inside the tent---and they all suddenly gasped at something in the sky behind me. Which I proceeded to miss. There was a summer of sightings in the mid-70's, both south and north. What better place to see them than under the stars out in the country? -

Sun, May 25, 2008 - 4:46 PMI remember Jay and his act, but not the incident in question. Would be nice if Jay would join, we need more from our era. -
