Homework: practice shimmying while doing everyday, mundane activities, like brushing your hair/teeth or cooking dinner. Keep it up until you find you are able to focus on the activity and NOT the shimmying. Shimmying will be second nature to you so that you can start forgetting about the hip shimmy and start focusing on another part of your body. -

-Berber Walk - starting on both knees, raise one foot to the floor, making a right angle with the knee to the floor, bend knee and slide forward onto that knee, dragging the other leg straight out behind you
-Berber walk combo - knee-walk on right foot to front right corner, then on left knee to front left corner ('elephant walking' arms and leaning towards that direction); slide right knee to back right corner , but keep body in place looking forward, leaning away from knee and pullng arms apart; knee spin to the left to finish with left knee up and pulling arms apart facing front.
