Here are some of my favorite CDs to practice with:
Oojami - Bellydance Breakbeats - this is the one I used last night in class
Turbo Tabla
Harem - Rhythm Color
Ekova -Soft Breeze and Tsunami Breaks
Solace
Arabic Groove
Saraha Lounge
North African Groove
Pentaphobe - Tribal Metamorphosis - this is the ablum 'made for tribal funkiness' album - specifically made for Rachel Brice - doesn't have a whole lot of steady rhythm songs for practice, but it has some really funky beats to play around with
If there is an album listed with the artist, that means that I have that album and don't know any of the others. I'm sure they are all probably just as good as the next, and maybe if someone buys an album that we don't already have, then we can test drive it in class and see if I should add it to my collection, eh? If there is not an album listed, it means that I like everything by that group, so it doesn't matter!
Feel free to add to this list!
