One thing in evidence at our Druid Gathering last weekend was the number of Reiki Masters among us. All counted, a good 60% of the Druids who attended this year were Reiki Masters, plus a few who were working on their Master level. One could wonder whether that number is consistent across the board (that is, across all of Druidry), or if this was only an isolated case.

To be sure, Order of the Mithril Star, which many of the attendees belong to, encourages it’s members to pursue Reiki as a healing discipline, and many of us also incorporate Reiki as part of our daily spiritual practice.

This years healing circle, which was incorporated into the main rite on Saturday, was both much simpler than in years past, but also much, much more powerful, possibly due to the presence of so many Reiki Masters among us, but also probably due to the magnification of energy we produced. This year, instead asking individuals to come forward and receive Reiki from the Masters present, we had everyone stand in a circle, holding hands. The Reiki Masters were interspersed in the circle, with just a few people between masters. We then sent the energy around the circle clockwise, allowing to pass through each and every one in the circle. The result was very powerful, very profound and we are told, very effective.
