This post is mostly for Eric and Ben ...

So a few days back you two were talking about putting together a packet or a binder of stuff about the shed ... and then I realized "hey, I don't really know what the hell has been going on there or the direction this project is going in ..." Do either of you want to put together the content regarding the vision and *what Watershed is about*? Or at least offer some direction? How have you been marketing and branding this? Once that's figured out then I can go around and snap some pictures and do the layout, make it all nice and shiny and turn it into a pdf etc.

  • Well... I'm thinking that we actually approach this one from exactly the opposite end. that we make a three ring binder with all the different subdivisions, and then slap on a paragraph/page claiming that exactly what we HAVE is exactly what we've wanted this whole time.

So a 3 ring binder would have a single page on:

    MoonPads
    Arete Design (industrial design)
    Think Design (furniture)
    Prada Design (stone sinks)
    Leo's Lapidary art
    Matt's cars
    FlowForm dojo
    Neil's Audio Studio
Balem and Maeve's stop motion studio
    Re-Fabulous clothing
    Tia's clothing
    Manual PDX - litmag
    The Studio - glass work
    Ping Khao - fine arts
    The Space - independent painters
    Thom Krizner - ??
    Sam and friends... painting, sculpting
    Laura Buchan, sculpting
    Jonathan Edelson - electrical
Dropout Bike Club - tall bikes!
Tool Shed - shared shops project

    Coming soon: MetaShed Cafe...

And then we put a thing at the front, or the back, saying, "Watershed PDX LLC is a property management company designed to aid in the fostering of small business - social engineering through the provision of infrastructure"

Each page on each tenant, business or project would have...

    PICTURE
    1) name and contact info
    2) what services offered, if any?
    3) what involvement could the public have, if any?
    4) what's the next area of growth for this business or project
    5) what does this pod NEED?
    6) funniest moment in the shed

that's it. Each one of these pages in a 3-ring binder plastic page, so if these people leave, they can be removed. Multiple copies in each page for ease of handing out to people.
