Ok... so what is it? How did this date become so popular in this country??
5 de Mayo is not even celebrated as much as it is here....What its nice to see is that it is at least recognized in this country when there is so much happening. Do any of you have any plans on this date???

Nope... I live in Puebla, where the battle happened, and it's only recognized with a disgusting military parade... And it's a Saturday, so I didn't even get a holiday out of it... -

I live in Cholula, about 10 minutes out of Puebla capital. I've never been in Huehuetlan or Chiautla but I've gone by there millions of times (I think) on the way to Oaxaca. Puebla is really beautiful, especially the sierra norte! Have you been to Cuetzalan? -

Sun, May 13, 2007 - 9:32 PMHey Mish... Cholula is so beautiful! I went there when they were in the beginning stages of excavating the teocalli buried under that church. What I remember is that its nice and clean. No, I have not been to Cuetzalan. I really would like to go because my father's grandmother is from there. I am thinking about visiting this August.I have seen pictures and heard beautiful things about that place and people. What has you living in Cholula? -

I study here. Cholula has been my home for the last 6 years, with its ups and downs. It's really a beautiful place, though, full of energy and the most amazing sunsets! And lots of dogs and pulque.... -

Re: 5 de Mayo
Fri, May 18, 2007 - 4:50 AMI'm very interested in Cholula as it appears to be the area of some kind of vortex centre. I identified the area through working with some maps including those from Becker and Hagens and the UVG grid based on geometry. I hesitate to go into great detail in a public forum. Perhaps we can have a meeting next winter sometime when my wife and I will be in Mex? Anyway, so much more can be shared than is possible here. -

Thu, May 31, 2007 - 3:48 PMHey Psi,
Thats great you are going there.. Its a very nice place to visit for sure...I am sure Mish has alot of info on the places to visit..While you are there, you can also visit other parts of Puebla, like Cuetzalan. Yes, I have also known there to be a type of vortex centre there too. So much has happened in that state, still unknown to the rest of the world. I am sure its another place like Sedona, Arizona... with alot more history.
