fossilized horse tooth

while in tuscon, i had a chance to check out a local gem store........well i found a fossilized horse tooth, a molar it is so weird. i previously had only seen fossilized shark teeth, and had no idea horses were so old....i have known of centaurs being ancient, so i guess it makes sense that horses have been around for quite some time. while meditating with the tooth one night, a few things and impressions kept popping in my head. it seems this tooth strengthens empathy and is very useful for putting yourself into someone elses situations and feelings. it is a great tool for healers and therapists to help figure out the root causes and emotions behind imbalances. while holding it, it seemed like my front teeth were being pushed against my lip like bucked horse teeth would feel. i also felt some strong psychic impressions and information popping in my head. this tooth is one powerful tool that took me on a shamanic type of journey. it was so intense that i had to put it on the end table for awhile to take a break from the intensity.

my question is this, does anyone know any information with regards to horse totem medicine? i am quite curious to hear what type of energies this animal carries.

thanks in advance!

love!

so this tooth has really become very intense. for years, i have put alot of crystals and minerals under my pillow. well none of them have brought on such lucid dreams as this horse tooth.......even the azeztulite/sugilite. my husband told me this morning that i have to get it out of our bed since he has felt as if he was awake all night dreaming so lucid, and does not want to wake up tired anymore. out of all the crystals i have put under my pillow, this is the only one that has affected him like this, and i too have felt like i havent even slept. i have had some very detailed and interesting dreams which i like to have.......since they give us such important clues as to messages and issues that can help us in waking time. for me, it is worth waking up tired.

so this has really peaked my interest as to where this tooth is from and to how old it is.........i have done some research and called the rock shop to see where it is from. from my research, i have found these teeth can be anywhere from 5-50 million years old! there are some horse teeth from the carolinas that have been carbon dated to 50 million years old! well this one i have is from nebraska, and is anywhere from 5-12 million years old. geologists and scientists have been studying these teeth since they can tell alot about the changes happening in the area at that time. sort of like tree rings on a tree, they tell the story as to earth changes happening at that time. teeth are made up of the things the horse was eating and drinking or a lack of at that time. this tooth contains all the energy of the plants and medicines he or she was eating at that time! no wonder it is such potent medicine. for real i have never felt something so powerful as this tooth.

if any of you are ready for some powerful dreamtime, i would suggest finding and getting one of these teeth.

ive been working with the horse tooth again....she likes to work in combination with other stones. this time she wanted to work with the sugilite/azeztulite. i had the sug/azez on my sacral chakra (then moved it up to my belly button), and the tooth on my solar plexus. these two work very well together. the sug/azez seems to give a very strong visual aspect to the psychic info revealed thru the tooth. these two together, seem to help one to connect telepathicly with your soul family while strengthening the visual aspect of your (: i magi nation :). the fossilized horse tooth keeps telling me that it has strong protective energies.

i was just thinking, i wonder if horses are protective animals? they seem very devoted and it would make sense that they would also be protective of their loved ones.

horses can carry you into other realms, in control. wehn I journey with a horse drum it is usually very vivid. horses also adopt. they are about family and the power of community. They have an untamed spirit. They are very energetically sensitive and empathic. they are strong hearted, capable of healing hearts aand teaching love.they rely on their sensitivity tto keep them safe, the herd provides safety too. they will bite or kick in fights.

When at a chinese herb pharmacy, ask for 'Long Gu' or 'dragon bone or teeth'. they are fossilized reptiles. Very potent medicine.

in Hindu spirituality, horses embody the messenger....carrying us across the field, from ignorance to knowledge....
dynamism, to inspire our own movement and journey

well apparently horses as we know them today were introduced to this continent with the Spanish (I think it was) -- so if it's this old, it must be one of those cute-looking vaguely zebra-shaped pretty short critters with stripes on their shoulders and back and neck only who were around in some prehistoric era (which one, I'm sorry, I forget!!!!) But I've seen pictures of these. It must be that. Which to me is utterly amazing.

Oh, hang on --- here we go, 20 different kinds of prehistoric horses on Wiki:

                      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cate...ric_horses

And for some reason not on this list is the really tiny one, eohippus, from 60 million years ago:

                      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyracotherium

I would love to have this dream experience too - but I doubt I'd find one of these locally -- could you tell us a bit about the dream content???? was there anything that might have been from the horse's own experience?

top secret info my dreams are....lol :) this was more of a parallel reality of my life, things that may be playing out in another dimension....if that makes any sense.

                            well let's see~
I also have heard horses carry their riders into other dimensions. also they are considered messengers. every horse one meets has something to teach us. he comes to me in my dreams if I go more than 3 days without seeing him.(I board him in a big pasture with 20 other horses because he likes it there) he understands english (or maybe my thoughts?) if I explain a situation he is calmer than if I just tell him to do something. they are supersensitive and retain information like super sponges. that tooth might contain cells that contain the memories, I guess??
my horse is a descendent of the Spanish horses, he is 3rd generation in captivity because in 1950 a man named Bob Brislawn decided to capture & breed the remaining Spanish type horse before thay were all mixed~bred or killed. the Spanish horses are related to the Spanish Jennet which was a mix of Arabian & African Barb. little horses, very people oriented, very smart, hardy ( a 1/3 of horses brought over died) & used common sense as opposed to immedialy freaking out in strange situations.Columbus began bringing them over in 1493, his second voyage, to Santo Domingo. after that they came to Mexico, then worked their way north from there, with records indicating herds reaching thousands in number, with horses visible as far as the horizon. and now they are a rare breed, because the federal gov. slaughtered most of the herds to subdue the Indians, and for some reason they are considered "lesser" horses than "purebreds". I tell people my horse is "pure mustang"!! ha ha. but that tooth might have come from the little original horses on the continent, which are a way different animal, like somebody posted before. and I don't know much about them. but the Spanish horses are a powerful spirit, for sure.

oh yeah about protection~in my experience with my horse he is VERY protective of me. he has saved me from a charging nasty mare, and kicked at another horse when the rider was getting a little "too friendly" if you know what I mean. and he's never kicked at another horse while under saddle before or since. it came in quite handy! once my friend was riding bareback in the pasture & another mean mare came up to bite & both horses reared up biting at each other while my friend was still on her back! luckily the other mare left, and everyone was safe. and I have read many stories of horses defying their nature to stay & help/defend their fallen/injured riders. so yep they are protective, for sure~
                              does any of that help??
sounds like a neat tooth you got there!

I wonder what mineral has actually done the fossilization. That may also play a big part in the energy. Where did you get that thing?

i found it at a little rock shop in tuscon, i called him on the phone after working with and realizing its powers. he told me that it was found in nebraska. teeth are calcium phosphorus/apatite crystals, but it fossilized to a black waxy looking tooth. i just recently took a picture of it, and posted it in the photos section...the pic could be a little better, i need to reshoot it with better lighting and contrast.
