I'm not very clued up on crystals but I've always had an affinity with them and find them fascinating! I'm hoping to learn more about them so I can use them effectively.
Last October my Father suffered quite a severe stroke and I looked for crystals which had healing properties that would aid his recovery.
At the time, and after some time spent googling, I found a website that claimed Labradorite to have properties that would help heal brain injury & aid stroke recovery. However, since that particular time, I've found very few sites that echo this information?
From someone in my position, how do you know which information is accurate and which isn't?
If anyone can tell me if these properties are correct I'd be very grateful... and if not, any advice on which crystals would help, would be very much appreciated.
Thanks :)

Re: Labradorite
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 7:53 AMA good one would be herderite:
"Herderite- is a very powerful and necessary stone for this stage in the development of human consciousness. It is the premier stone to harmonize and heal afflictions of the brain. It heals the brain and prepares this physical structure to be available to the massive shifts that we have just begun to experience, and to normalize the transition out of a 3D reality into a multidimensional reality."
There are some reasonably priced small pieces of herderite on Ebay at the moment from a seller called "natureskind." There is also a mineral delaer in Tain, UK called "Esoteric Earth" who usually has specimens for sale on Ebay but who does not at the moment. He probably has some specimens at his store however.
One can also find it for sale in pendants such as here:

Re: Labradorite
Tue, July 8, 2008 - 12:02 PMhi inspired, the first crystal that comes to mind is aqua aura. it is quartz with gold. gold especially has a strong connection with healing the brain, and activating dormant parts of the brain. it also strengthens the aura and has protective energies from what i have seen. gold has helped kids with autism and elderly peoples with alzheimers. it seems to reactivate the brain neurons. labradorite also has a strong connection with the aura, and upper chakras...maybe that is why you found that info. really, when we tune into the crystals, we listen to what they say, it is pretty subjective...only after hands on use of this info do we know its relevance. crystal work can be very individually based since we all vibrate at different frequencies, they can have different effects on different people.
ionic gold would be good for him to take internally too.
i will think more on this and add to it as things pop in my mind. thanks for looking out for papa :) sending you all strength....... -

Tue, July 8, 2008 - 1:30 PMThank you Kristalina :) ... I'd not heard of Aqua Aura before but from the information you have given, it is definitely one I will get for him and sounds appropriate for his needs.
Once again, thank you

I am so happy you suggested aqua aura and how it has helped kids with autism and elderly people with alzheimers. I could not find very nice aquamarine-but I did ended up getting a cloudy aquamarine chip necklace[. I couldn't find great earrings to match so I bought nice aqua aura wand earrings and I do wear them when I do my little volunteering with kids on the autism spectrum.

Re: Labradorite
Tue, July 15, 2008 - 6:08 PMwhen confronted with an issue that you are unsure of the stone best for the job, often times the stone will let you know which one will assist you in whatever need you may have.
Go with your intuition upon which stone will work specifically for you, seeing that each stone (regardless of whether it is of the same mineral composition) works and feels differently for each user. I would even suggest gathering a few crystals and stones and picking each one of them up with the problem at hand in your minds eye.
The stones are very intuitive with their communications and you will always be led to the proper stone for the job, sometimes the outcome is surprising when you aren't familiar with the stone and look up it's metaphysical properties after your initial choosing.
Best of Luck to you and if you get the chance, might I suggest Kyanite as well if you haven't looked into it.
The book of stones says that physically kyanite may help bridge the energy gaps caused by trauma through assisting the nerves and tissues to reestablish pathways through and around the trauma site. It is ideal for working to heal the brain from the effects of head trauma, seizure, or stroke.
For some reason, Sugilite (Luvulite), is also coming into mind.
Hope this helps :)
