Is it name calling, if you quote someone as they have described themselves?
John has said that he's "arrogant", "insane", and "inhumane".
I agree. But those are his words, not mine. Am I allowed to quote him?

I'd love to move this tribe towards enlightened, intellectual, discussion and debate. Any ideas on how to do that?
Related question - Do you think that any of the Palestinian/Arab apologists will ever answer a direct question? -

I'll confess I can get annoyed if someone creates a thread with my name in it, with an attack or pointed question. That's quickly diffused if the person is willing to turn that start into a productive discussion. But that's not John. He creates threads about people, and then runs from questions about his own beliefs. And I do admit, that once I'm annoyed, I am damn tenacious.
Sorry about the name calling. Personally, I think you should add a sub-rule, if someone creates a thread with your name in it, you can call them whatever names you want _in that thread_. What do you think of that as a rule?
Do you wish to try to add anything more constructive, than just play nice? How do you propose us not only getting along, but moving towards intellectual, well-referenced, bi-directional, conversations and debates?

How do you think a Palestinian would feel if Andrew spoke of a group of "Palestinian criminal thugs" murdering Jews in 1910?
In this hateful comment about Palestinians, Andrew referenced a tribe post where this attack was supposedly mentioned, except the post doesn't exist. And beyond there don't seem to be any references to this attack anywhere else on the internet.
This violence and this particular group of "Palestinian thugs" exist only in Andrew's head, no where else.
This was sheer hateful slander against the Palestinians. Andrew refuses to retract his statement, or apologize.
How do you think a Palestinian would feel about that?
How can we have truly civil conversations here, when such slander is tolerated?

And, yes, of course, I'm speaking of John, not Andrew. And his attack was against Zionists, not Palestinians. But it was completely false, and completely slander.

You can also ask as many questions as you want..
Some have an average of a half dozen per post..
But you are complete free to ignore all bogus questions..Or anything..
Thats what i love about tribe (i ignore the attack threads)
I see answering many of the questions posted here as a complete waste of time..
So i will not adress them and that is my full right..
Otherwise the questioner would dictate the debate..
I write what i want and i am not to be pushed of topic by cross examination..
back to the tribe rules..
They clearly denounce the smear and the long discussions about tribe members..
This is caused by attacks like "bigot, butthole"...etc..
This destructive behaviour has got to stop..

Yeah, most of them are very valid, relevant questions.

I really hope that you're speaking to John, and not just me or Andrew. He called Andrew a "bigot" three posts in a row in the "pal" thread.

Like I said. I think special exceptions for that rule should apply in attack threads created against you. I feel perfectly justified in calling John a "butthole", in an attack thread he created about me.
How about this which is also in the tribe description:
"This is a serious subject and it is important to say where you get your info."
Is John going to reference these alleged murderous attacks by alleged "Zionist thug gangs" in 1880, or is he going to apologize for and retract that blatant slander?

I honestly do not think that she's able to form her own ideas. Not that she's daft or anything - I really mean that - but I don't think that she's a writer, or does not know how to describe in words her actual opinions.
