San Diego LGBT Pride is pleased to confirm you as a contingent in the 2008 LGBT Pride Parade. Please read the following information carefully and review the enclosed packet containing safety guidelines, rules, and regulations. San Diego LGBT Pride and you, as a parade contingent, have two responsibilities for this year’s parade: the safety of the spectators and the safety of the parade participants. With this in mind—have fun! Again, congratulations and welcome!
Here is the information regarding your contingent assignment:

Check-In time Window: 8:00 am to 10:00 am
< SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'">The parade steps off at 11:00 am Saturday July 19, 2008 at University Ave. & Normal St. in Hillcrest and will travel west to 6th Ave., and then south to Upas. St. The route is over one mile long with over 150 contingents and spectators will be approximately 180,000! This is your contingents chance to shine. Be creative, have fun, and be safe!
Attached are three items:
· Staging Area Map: Your location in the staging area is indicated on the enclosed map. You will be instructed to go to your staging zone first and look for your designated line up number. Your number will be marked on the ground in your zone area. Then send your Contingent Monitor to the Parade Check in Tent.

· Official Parade Contingent Information Packet: This packet includes important information regarding: Parking, Parade Contingent Check-In and Staging, Parade Safety Rules and G uidelines, and other items. Please make sure you read and understand the entire packet as the parade marshals and supervisors WILL hold you accountable to it.

· City of San Diego Fire Regulations: These are the current City of San Diego Fire regulations. The Fire Marshall will begin the inspections at 9:30pm so your contingent must be ready by that time to be inspected (if you are in the first 100 contingents).
When you completed your online application a Hold/Harmless Indemnity Form was completed with your application. When you check in you will also need to sign a Hold/Harmless Indemnity Form as part of your contingent check-in.
A couple of reminders:
· National businesses, franchises, and thi rd party sponsorship: Your contingent cannot be sponsored by or display logos or trademarks from, third party businesses or organizations without the express written permission of San Diego Pride. Such permission, if granted, may include additional fees and conditions. Please contact the Pride office for information. National corporations or franchises must obtain express written permission from the Pride Committee in order to participate in the Parade. You may have logos but they can not be any larger than 18 by 24 inches on either side of your contingent.

· Vehicle Decorations: All vehicles must be decorated – this is a Pride parade! Non-decorated vehicles will not be permitted to enter the parade route.


· All Drivers must check in and provide proof of insurance and a valid Driver’s license!
