October 24th and 25th, at 10 Old Man's Trail in ManitouSprings (Tajine Alami restaurant)

ShimmyCon is a two-day event designed to give both currentand new students of all forms of belly dance the opportunity to studywith and meet different instructors, learning more of what theColorado Springs area dance community has to offer through eightworkshops and an evening show.

The website includesfull workshop descriptions, instructor bios, and preregistrationinformation, including both a mail-in registration form and an onlinepreregistration system with payment via Paypal. Advance show ticketpurchase (via will-call) are also available online.

Sunday, October 25th:

11:00 am - 12:45 pm: "Flirting Shadows (Or How a Western Girl Dancesin Istanbul, not Constantinople)" with Amia Algier
2:00 pm - 3:45 pm: "The Physics of Veilwork: Developing a Relationshipwith Your Veil" with Alicia
4:00 pm - 5:45 pm: "'Whipping Up' a Routine" with Jaiya

And don't forget, there is a Saturday evening performance at 8 pm featuring the weekend's instructors and guest dancers! Workshop/show packages are available ranging from $40 - $140preregistered ($50 - $150 at the door), and individual workshops maybe purchased for $25 preregistered ($30 at the door). Individual showtickets are available for $15 pre-purchased ($18 at the door).
