looking for a nice arghul

I have 2 made of bamboo. Just when I started getting good, the moisture caused the thin wood to begin to crack. I fell in love with this instrument the first time I heard it. I have to tinker endlessly with this instrument to keep the cracks sealed. (beeswax). The circular breathing creates intense moisture, then it dries. There has god to be a better way. Help! Thanks.     Do you have what is called River cane (Arundo Donax) in Arkanas? This is the stuff they use to make them in the Middle East.
    I know it is considered as a weed in other parts of the US.
