I was poking around on www.gawharetelfan.com and I found that they have three new models of mizmar I hadn't seen before. First, there's a larger inlaid model ($39), then a metal (?!) model of the same size ($45), then a 3rd that looks to have seven (?) replaceable bodies ($254).
Interesting stuff, but not quite interesting enough to spend $254 on. I'm guessing replaceable bodies would add a lot of additional maqam starting points, and have seen this referred to in a few places.
The metal one is pretty attractive, though. I wonder if it's better made than their other lines - both the MZ 030 and 031 I bought were not well done - the inside unfinished, lots of variation in the hand-carved capisto (?), etc.
