Friday... I did a two hour LDS dance... Mormans for those of you who don't know... 12th grade to 9 graders... The music list that came straight from Provo Utah and I was told that I HAD to play ONLY that music and take no requests!!!
The hip hopissh song allowed was Pon De Replay.....and that was also the newest song allowed... I got them up with the Electric Slide and the Cha Cha Slide....About and hour into the show the lady incharge told me not to worry about the list, just play something they will dance to..... I had them from that point on!!!
Sat.... Wedding for about 40 people at the Fairmont Kea Lani... with Karaoke.. B&G from New Yark Fun stuff but there were 3 locations, wedding, dinner and party... nothing real special, just fun stuff
Sunday... 40th BD party with Karaoke for the wedding selling lady at THe HYatt at her house,,,, just so you all don't think I only get to play at fancy resorts.... LOL ... highlights,,,, being hit on by a lady wearing a lepord skin shirt and matching hat.... LOL
The fireworks that the birthday boy was lighting with a ,, whatta call,,, butane torch? It was a fun weekend.... Both Sat and Sun were 6 hour shows but flew by.....

Hey I went to Las Vegas for Mobile Beat Convention, had a blast and learned a lot.... I was very impressed with Peter Merry and Randy Bartlett. Randy is based in Sacramento so it was easy for me to approach him since I am from there. Nice guy... On Thursday in the Hotel lobby we walked into a bit o drama. Some guy was chewing out Peter Merry about his stance on part time djs, and also accusing him of defamation because he used a photo of this guy's set up as an example of "how not to" LOL! Peter walked away and the guy said "ya man just walk away, don't want to debate me huh? The guy was just yelling and not being diplomatic at all. I would have walked away too, asshole! LOL! Anywho, I got a chance to chat with Peter. I told him that during his seminar I had a kind of breakthrough realization about valuing yourself and having that translate into your customer valuing you. Law of attraction stuff.....Very cool..... -

Sat, February 16, 2008 - 10:51 AMDamm I almost was going to go,,, had my expo pass and everything... Randy is a kick,,, we played golf together when I was in CA,,, our daughters were in the same Girl Scout troupe,,, we go way back....
Nothing like a good debate when it's one sided!! LOL
Peter has ruffled feathers and there is a lot of negitive talk about him on the DJ boards,,,, I haven't read the book yet, so I wont say anything, but from what I hear, it is kinda a slam to DJ's who are doing it part time....
In your case, you would fall into his definition of part time because you also do Video..... BAD DJ!!! LOL
