For this year's Threshold, we're taking ourselves back to the time of the Great Depression. A time when hard scrabble, fast talkin' folks had to really hustle to "make ends meet". Where some today might say today that, "Jeez, times are tight. Y'know, the party's really over now". We're saying, "Ha! The party's just begun!". We don't celebrate the hard times of this difficult era in our history, we celebrate monumental social acheivement. As then, in the face of much adversity, we now enter a time of great momentum in the realm of opportunity for human connection. For us, this moment in time represents a critical portal that simultaneously peers into both the communal spirit of the past and the hopes of a bright future that its collecive historical memory suggests.
From everything that I've witnessed so far in the set up for T9, this is going to be one HELL of a NYE party... Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from my monkey brothers and sisters, actually. If you're not doing more fun instead, please join us tomorrow night for the main event. We'd love to see you there, Mac.

Re: Spirits of the Past
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 10:43 PMIt was a really fabulous party. I missed having the Groove Bomb bus accessible outside with Carl spinning on top, but if you guys hadn't put on Threshhold, Portland would have lost a lot of light and heart, on New Years.
Thank you. We had a great time. :-)
Next party, I promise to help out, if help is wanted/needed. -
