Dragonfly Wrapup

Thank you to everyone for coming out, it was truly a remarkable weekend.
Through all the trials and tribulations, downs and ups, we had a
wonderful time and space, I feel. Blissful in the morning and music til
the late day with gracious space and wonderful people. However, with all
in fact of an amazing time, we managed to take a bit of about $905 and
would very much like to ask for offerings and contributions from,
throughout the community. We only hope this will raise so we can continue
forth with a coming 'Odonata Festival', in the future!

For Dragonfly, we are still in search for paying out some folk that need
for there support within the Dragonfly. All parties are planned for
certain to pay-back. These include, artists, sound and emissions. They
need to be taken care of, still. We have a paypal account which is ready
and open for all contributions possible.

From these numbers, it shows me more ideas with guestlisting that this,
being our community, truly needs to support until everything is financed
properly and we can have more of our outer friends appear. Otherwise we
are taking money out of our own pockets in order to host these amazing
events/gatherings/open-air festivals. I hope still to create the
coming 'Odonata Festival' for this 2009, next year. A 5 Stage,
open-air extravaganza filled with live and electronic music, acrobatics,
artists, you and multi-dimensional portal stimulation to further opening
the minds eye(s).

I would like to also apologize for certain amenities not being covered,
Kitchen / Port a potties and what not. We did erect a latrine / shit pit
(thank you Zen!), however the signage was never set. We had called the
port-a-police, never came due to some communication that was not
connected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We
could blame everything on Mercury, however the truth is more the learning
on how to make things more tight for a future of an event. We had many new
people with our crew and teaching to go out on how to make events happen,
thought we made everything that
we could possible with all in mind.

Truly everyone, Thank you so much for everything that you are and help us
create. 'Welcome home'. Adrian / DJ Eckoe, we are proud to have you on
board in helping host your frequencies..., Seattle needs this more than
ever. Kyle thank you for all the amazing sound you put into this, as well
Psyren..you came through even with all the bits in on your time and
delivered proper sound as well. The rest of
Molecular..you guys rock and I know it to be a future for us all. Thank
you to the Epic Loot Guild for coming and hosting some exquisite findings
for us all to keep warm and feel wonderful. Last but not least, thank you
to D & BJ for use of there land, it was unforgettable. And thank you to
the universe for the love and support to carry us through and make magic a
reality.

We are the art and the creation, without us, none of this is possible.
It is not about just partying and dancing and enjoying music, we have
always felt it to be more. We believe that if no one steps into the
time continuum, no change or progression is made. It is because of you
that we are here and are here to create, share, explore, learn and be in
our own reflection and new ideas.

Summer Solstice Portland, June 21st

Welcome All! Come help us celebrate the sun, or at least welcome it to Oregon, on this annual summer solstice celebration!

We are trying something a little different this year, that you all are sure to enjoy. We will go from 6pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday, with a nice collection of music. During the night, there will be a variety of music including ambient, dub, breaks, hip hop, psy-breaks, and everything in between, sure to please the ears and feet, then when the sun starts to rise we will bring out the trance and dance dance dance under the sun!

Dragonfly (lost & found)

Hey all,
Was just hoping that someone might have found, and was safe gaurding my very special and sacred Shun brand Frech Chef's knife. It was a gift from my mother last year, and possibly one my most treasured possessions. It was laying next to a box of food (and yes-stupid me-on the ground.) If anyone has it, or know who grabbed it please message me. Thank you!

I've been dreaming of the ultimate chill party for many years and I am finally in a position to bring that dream (or a version of it) to life. Of course I can't do this all alone, so I've enlisted the help of Hendrik/Jaluka (the generous ringmaster of the Church of Bass) and recent Seattle transplant Adrian/Eckoe. Their excitement and passion for a similar dream gives me hope that this pipedream has actual validity beyond my skull. Hello all, we at molecular would like to thank you & everyone that attended this last gathering. It was an intensejourney making this all happen, though it would not have been possible if it were not for all your wonderful thoughts & inspirations to make this possible.
It was a truly beautiful under the night's sky & to see everything come back together for the final day.

I would especially like to thank our crew. I know there were lots of twists & turns, yet you took it like a bullet and ran like no other. THANK YOU. You are all superheroes in my eyes. You are all so amazing in light & I don't think we could ever do without.

Thank you to the volunteers, thank you for the lean-to structures you all made out of your minds, thank you for the teepee & the sacred fire. Thank you to the bitumen for keeping the reality shifting..., thank you to Jesiah & all his amazing sound. Thank you to Hendrick for making the 1st night with the sound, gear & downtempo area, Thank you to the Seattle Underculture for coming through with a 3rd stage at last minute, thank you to all the dj's and music makers that made the music possible... & THANK YOU for everything that you are. We would not be here if it was not for you.

For the future, there is so much more to come! We are planning our next 'Galactic Substation' deep into the bowels of Gaia once again, for this may be our last. Later there in, we may as well have some other special suprises soon to come. More to incoroporate, more arts, more world, more prayer, more opening to more divinity.

We now have a real solid crew for you all & looking forwards to more! So if you might be interested in working with Molecular more into the future, please drop me a line & we can work towards a better life for us all.

* LEAVE NO TRACE! Take home EVERYTHING that you bring in, this includes

Directions to Osborn Point (please watch for locaters):

From Seattle: Take I-90 eastbound. Exit 84 to Cle Elum.

Turn right on Rosseeti Way, following signs to S Cle Elum.
Please respect all traffic regulations while driving while driving though
Cle Elum.

Turn right on Grant St. - Grant St goes right and becomes 6th St.
Continue south on 6th Street until it ends at the 'T'

turn right onto Marie Ave. -
Marie Ave becomes Westside Rd. Go about 2 miles on Westside Rd,

Turn left onto FS road 3350, following signs to "Peoh Point".
Drive very carefully on this steep and windy gravel road and stay on the
main road.

After about 6.5 miles along FS road 3350, you will come to a 4-way
junction, continue through.

At next immediate junction, turn right

following signs to Tanuem/Osborn Point, for about 3.5 miles, until you
reach Osborn Point.

Come around the bluff or right about there & find the greeter's station!

--Shortcut from Portland: From I-5 at Federal Way, go east on Highway 18,
take highway 18 to I-90 and go east on I-90 to Cle Elum.

Dragonflight in Shift~~

We are currently in search of a new location. Due to some neighborly
issues this Dragonfly will move to a new, undisclosed location (until
further notice) within the 2 hour radius.

If anyone has any good ideas or has got someone with a good piece of land, now is the time.

Keep those lights bright. We have an event to take place & it will

Hullo lovelies!

So here's the rough plan...

fri dinner (burritos or indian, what do you think??) 5-10pm
fri nite (chai, snacks) 10pm-4am or later
sat break (pancakes or oats) 7-11am
sat snacks (hummos, salad rolls, etc), lemonade 11-4pm
sat dinner (red curry and pad thai) 4-10pm
sat nite (chai, snacks) 10-4am or later
sun break (pancakes or oats) 8-12

now we just need people to help make it happen! just post what meals you want to work. hopefully we'll get a couple people on each shift, plus i'll probably be there 70% of the time. so.... say if you want to do late nite chai and snacks, you wont nessesarily be chained there from 10-4, we'll take turns, just so someone is there at all times. we need atleast one person there during late nites and mid days, and atleast two people during meals. something like that.

Hello, I am putting this into the pool as our livelyhood depends on it.

We are in search of a new name for our tribe of people & would very much like to see what we all come up with?

Let us know your thoughts on perhaps a new name for the collective consciousness.

Here are a few questions to ask yourselves.
What inspires you about coming to our gatherings?
What do you expect when coming to our parties?
What is it about the trance that makes it happen for you?
Where does your love come from in the dancefloor?
What are your thoughts when becoming in these spaces?

In finding a new name, these are the questions that are to be asked within ourselves for creating a new name.
We believe that the name should maybe stay in the same realm but yet, becoming more simplified & understanding.

Environmental = ones that are aware & conscious of there surroundings & taking care for our land.
Structures = A construct in reality
Environmental Structures = A place for freedom and expression within the ideals of consciousness & reality. A place ever-changing from time to time & a place for exploration within the themes.

We find ourselves to be collective, conscious & an ever-growing community, as we wish for many other from around the world to join us in this dance for peace, rights, respect, beliefs, ideals, finding ourselves to continue in creativity and always learning to be ourselves & find our own pathways to better the ideas of humanity.

So, let us know your thoughts! Give us your opinions & ideas. We would love to find a new ground with hopes of creating an even brighter future than we already have. 'Follow your Bliss' as they say. It is time for something different.

We hope that everyone had a magical time dancing with the spirits of the tunnel amongst the Steamline. We want to thank everyone involved, this was by
far one of the best escavation experiences yet.., You & everyone are all so wonderful.

A good chunk of change was collected for the Volunteers of Outdoor Washington, an organization that has worked to preserve the old railroad grade on the
west side of the tunnel. They will be pleased to receive a check for $356 that was made in the process of this last event.

To the ESI crew and everyone else who helped with the setup, breakdown, and cleanup, you all did such a wonderful job with everything; Namaste. Truly,
this could not have been possible without you. You know who you are. The whole creation and restoration process went pretty smoothly, despite a minor
gravitational issue in the old Laser Lab on the Friday night prior.

To Nova & crew, thank you for making a generous helping in the entryway, truly solid beats all night.

To the Chickens & Purlah, visualists & torchers...you all did a fantastic job. We have heard nothing but awe from everyone who came down by your place.

We are pleased to see that people were generally respectful of this special space. A bit of litter was left behind, but the amount of litter-per-capita
seemed to be the lowest it has been yet. Thank you for keeping your butts in check.

And finally, we are looking to reach Mitchell, a fellow who was emanating some interesting sounds in the parking lot and has a residence nearby. If
anyone has contact info, please let us know.

As the dawn of next autumn approaches, keep your eyes, ears, and noses peeled for clues about another descent into the underground. We may have maxed out
the capacity of the east portal, but in the spirit of the Great Northern, the west beckons.

Sweetness

Sooo, this guy I drove to portland droped me some music in exchange, good deal if you ask me, and one of these cd's was an entire set by Shepherd Grei, entitled Blood Sweat Tears. Well, I got around to listening to it last night, and I must say, In no time I was Trippin pretty good (only on a bit of THC I might add). Music is truly drugz to my ears. I was jamming on my bass and all these wierd things started synching up, and after a while I just had to get up and start bouncing. Reminded me of a morning in a canyon after a hail storm. Or that very first party I ever attended, with the tent filled with decapitated and mutilated dolls. Music and Environments that just spin your head around and make you go, wtf was that ride.

Anyway, just checking the past, looking forward to events to come.
My thanks goes to the crew for keeping the magic alive!!!

My my my, this was the best party I've ever been to in my 6 years of electronica gatherings!! It was even better than Goa Gil which had more sinister music even. There are a number of reasons why I think this was the best including; the venue, being involved, hanging out with my two favorite party friends, and of course the music. I'll start from the beginning:

My awesomely fun, cute friend Wingnut decided to come up from Portland to carpool with me to the event. I heard that there was to be a pre-party during Friday night for those helping to set up, which we both agreed to do. I saw this as a great opportunity to get an extra night of being in the "great outdoors" in as well. We got there around 3:30 p.m., thinking a few may be unpacking a few things but it turns out we were the first ones there! Ended up hiking around a logging road a bit, and exploring the tunnel about halfway.

During our exploration inside the portal around 5:00 p.m., we spotted a very strange light coming from the other side. We had no idea what could be the source of this because no one else had showed up yet. We became suspicious that it could be just another person that had hiked in from the other side, but then discovered the light was moving from side to side very fast as we stood still. Then we thought it may be a wild animal (eyes reflecting from our flashlight) stalking us, and we became very frightened. With no weapon, our paranoia got the best of us and we began to jog back to the entrance, looking back ever so often. It continued its behavior until we were a couple thousand feet from daylight, and it out of sight. Too scary! A few people showed up about an hour later including darkman and Owen. A bit tired from the hike, I took a nap. I woke up later than I wanted, for setup, deep into Friday night. I helped move only a couple things in the tunnel, but mostly ES personnel had things covered already. It was very cold trying to get sleep throughout Friday night.

Awakening on Saturday was slow from little sleep, but breakfast was good. The day, up to about 7:00 p.m. was spent helping Patty and Maude shuttle more stuff into the underground, and exploring the entirety of the tunnel with Wingnut. We wanted to pursue the strange light again and figure out what it really was. Talking to Owen, he mentioned there have been ghostly apparitions spotted inside in the past due to a deadly train disaster that killed 96 people. We think we spotted it again, but didn't get close enough to describe it other than a small moving white light, several thousand feet away. Outside the other end of the tunnel was a well kept hiking trail with wooden bridge, small creek and beautiful nature. We hiked forward and relaxed in this magical place for another hour before getting back to the other end, a 1.25 hour trek. Back at camp, a very welcome smoking-of-the-brocolli session was had.

In the early evening, it was door shift time for Wingnut and I. A lot of people were showing up earlier than ES had anticipated, so we started sooner. It was a fun and educating experience handling this responsibility, welcoming new and familiar faces. It fills me with great joy to help out such a respectable, humble production.

After door, it was party time! Met up with darkman who was lighting up the tunnel with tea-lights and glow-sticks. The night went crazy fast as always, in both music and time-allowance. I hung out with Wingnut the majority of the evening as we had only partied once before at Goa Gil. She helped out Patty in the kitchen, very admirable. The energy I saw from her dancing was as profound and fascinating as the many conversations I had with her! Also, I met up with Paco whom was at the last tunnel party. I accidently pocketed a lighter then, but have held on to it for a full year to return it that night. He was truly shocked! Also, his dance style is very similar to mine, but is far more badass. I'd like to learn from him. The musical engineer highlights for me were Aaron Hoyle, Shepherd and Malaclypse, and an unknown DJ at 5:00 a.m. in the main room throwing down some very sinister beats and tones. I recorded a lot of video of performances going on. IDN, a surprisingly and absolutely stunning marching band put on a truly memorable performance. The melody and natural percussion power they displayed had more than half of everyone in the tunnel encircling the troupe. They got a very loud cheer by the crowd at the end of some of their routines. I couldn't help but gape my mouth open at the mysterious melody I heard at one point, approaching from the tunnel's entrance.

Passed out around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning for a good five hours. The rain didn't bother me at all while sleeping, after a heated night like that. After waking, I went with Wingnut to help with a bit of teardown inside the portal. I couldn't help but become disappointed with the amount of rubbish scattered about, but that's what's going to happen during an event of this magnitude. I just wish people would pack it out more often.

Thank you ever so much, Environmental Structures. For the entertainment, your warm and strong personas, and memories I'll never forget. Now then, what's the next doof you got up your sleeve?!

Solstice 2005 reviews

Got off to a fairly late start. I was originally to carpool with darkman, but his car was having problems which complicated the matter to the point where he had to rent a car and go seperately. So pr0teus and I took off with haste to the mountain. Climbing it was a bit tough on my engine, and the hill right before the party site was pretty rough. I couldn't make it at night as I couldn't see where I was going and my poor 1993 Saturn sedan was just not getting traction on the rocks. So I parked at the bottom for the night, and had the help of a couple of cool guys named Garrett and Coby that drove pr0teus' and my stuff to our camp site. Thanks guys!

Once we made it and set up camp around 2AM Saturday, it was very relaxing to be settled. The weather was interesting. 40 degrees and clear at night, 75-80 with hail and sun in the day. It hardly rained other than the freak hailstorm which was totally badass to dance in with full-on psy-trance going on. Only about 30 people showed which was to be expected. There wasn't any huge international names, so I guess that's why.

Something I regret was staying up all night Saturday and missing the sun rise Sunday. I actually feel real bad about it, because having the sun rise during Solstice is kind of the epidimy of the party's idea. I guess the all those brownies floored me. To make matters worse I missed pr0teus' set. This time around he just DJ'd though, his live sets are not to be missed!

I'm happy I donated to the kitchen, and Patty's dishes were really great. Pancakes + Syrup + Peanut Butter = YUM.
