NYC is exactly 3.5 hours behind Sand Francisco. So I should visualize 11:30 my time.

Re: Time zone?
Wed, June 27, 2007 - 12:30 PMOH...good point!! What if we all pray at 8 p.m. sharp, yet we're not praying together at all? Tragic! Like a global hug that never was, due to technical problems. This would make an excellent Twilight Zone episode! I'm just standing here, waiting for my hug. Where is everybody! -

Re: Time zone?
Wed, June 27, 2007 - 7:19 PMMaybe the moment4peace in the middle east is past? -

Re: Time zone?
Thu, June 28, 2007 - 7:13 AMAlthough the moment of cooperation is conceptual... it is a positive idea...
It is more likely that avarice will be the source of world peace.
Secondly I think you need to be more active in society if you choose to affect people's inner conciousness...
this is a noble idea but passive... and not inclusive of those oppositional to the idea.
To frame the idea in economic terms is much more likely to be considered by the world community.
Otherwise, writing a letter to your congressperson... will have more possibilities.
Burning a flag is good... it's a nice image... but it lasts about 3 days... It does however get noticed... I am not sure your cause will be vaulted into enormity unless some type of injustice is done to those involved. -

Re: Time zone?
Thu, June 28, 2007 - 6:09 PMSo you're saying that if a few countries in the middle east get nuked, we'll know peace is near? -
-
Re: Time zone?
Fri, June 29, 2007 - 7:03 AMSo you're saying that if a few countries in the middle east get nuked>>>
Hmmm... I hadn't thought of that.
What I'm referring to is the disastrous effect that monetary nationalism has in a market of globalization. Greece spent about a century paying off previous debts and then war debts from it's war with Turkey over Crete.
Awareness of the law of diminishing returns... and actively resisting tying currency to resources like gold...
The resulting flexibility and sovereignty is a much greater incentive for peace than "hoping for the best ". -

Re: Time zone?
Fri, June 29, 2007 - 6:16 PMYou expect politicians to think logically about what makes the best financial sense in the long term? Let me tell you, politicians aren't elected for the long term (and heck, it's not THEIR money!) and most of the world wouldn't want to think long term...might make their little heads hurt. You must live in a country where the royals or the Vatican have strong influence. Otherwise, why would you be referring to outdated concepts like long term planning? I bet you're one of those guys who believes 9/11 was a government conspiracy! I don't want you next to me during the global hug, dude. -

Re: Time zone?
Sat, June 30, 2007 - 2:14 PMI care, but you're right. These other people would rather argue about how peace will never be in the more combative tribes --- OR joke around about spanking each other. They already have the good life, why should they worry about others who don't have it in more than the most casual of ways? -

Re: Time zone?
Sat, June 30, 2007 - 10:02 PMI care....it seems that some people run from what is happening with this war...some feel it so far away they feel it does not affect us all, but it does...we all vibrate off of each other and it is a shame that prayer and hope for peace to come can come to be if only the masses come together to share their concern....I do care, I always have.... -

Re: Time zone?
Sat, June 30, 2007 - 11:09 PMdid you visualize peace today at 11:30 today Lakota? To tell the truth, I for got. -

Sun, July 1, 2007 - 1:28 AMVisualize it is 8:00 in your time zone. We are doing it together. It forms a ring of illumination that circles the globe.
So sorry for not responding sooner. It's a beautiful thought, that could save the world, and it's good to be doing something that important -

Re: Time zone?
Sun, July 1, 2007 - 10:15 AMJay,
I appreciate your will to actualization...
however,
although conceptualization is essential to the actualization process... if concept development is the primary objective of your effort... it will never take tangible form.
If you are trying to effect change... a contribution that engages the "Now" ... and focuses on short term immediate... and long term conceptual results... is going to be more dynamic, more courageous, and more effective.
You risk nothing by staying in your world, and contributing only thoughts.
On a personal note I found that getting assaulted and enduring verbal and emotional abuse by the students I teach....
has a balance in that I can see small changes take place and progress... and hope for the future that someday my voice will influence them in the future, not to make a disastrous choice.
At times it seems like an exercise in futility, and a waste of time and energy... but that's the risk I take for making a commitment.
How will your persona take form ? As an idea ? Or as an unnoticed tangible change in somebody's life ?

Sun, July 1, 2007 - 5:16 PMYES YES! I think the power of prayer is directly connected to the power of positive thinking! IF you only will change, it WILL happen! Maybe we could all include Rendall's rent in our prayers the next time we have the global virtual hug for moment4peace in the Middle East? -

Jonathan Larson's rock musical retelling of the “La Bohטme” story, but relocated to AIDS-era East Village, New York. A penniless songwriter's love for a young woman grows even as illness begins to consume her. The poet Rodolfo is now punk rocker Roger. Tubercular Mimi is now an AIDS-infected dancer at an S&M nightclub. Painter Marcello is now aspiring filmmaker Mark Cohen, and so forth. The ending is transformed from the opera, but the theme of love striving to endure beyond all obstacles remains. Songs include “Seasons of Love,” “Without You,” “Out Tonight,” “One Song Glory,” “I'll Cover You” and “Santa Fe.” (Musical) -

Re: Time zone?
Wed, July 11, 2007 - 11:40 PMwow, that is a true miracle! i had heard AIDS was incurable. the power of prayer cannot be underestimated, brother! i would like to pray for an end to all those horrible killings and rapings in Darfur, you know? that way those people can stay in their country and not show up on our doorsteps as refugees. what do you say? can we also pray for the people suffering in Darfur? it's not that far from the middle east, this i can tell you for sure, because these sudanese people are all over egypt and they say it's even worse there! in fact, i bet peace in Darfur can only help peace in the middle east. maybe egypt will chill down if their neighbors are chill, you know? -
