Well, I'm just a fan but couldn't keep quite about Bonobo coming to town. So, this is for all of you who maybe haven't discovered this talented dj and who might otherwise miss this show. Bonobo has this really amazing and unique sound...well, here is some text from his site:

"Cos it's all about the levels with Bonobo. Not in a techy, studio kinda way, but in the levels of involvement with his music. On the surface there are the organic, pastoral atmospheres, the catchy melodies, the elements that caught people from his first album. You can engage with a Bonobo tune in that way if you wish, and will be well rewarded for it. But it's the deeper, slightly hidden levels that you should investigate, for they bring the greatest prize. It's these elements that he explored on 'Dial M For Monkey', as a greater focus on live instruments, the intricacies of rhythm, the darker shades of the soul, and almost a sleight of hand, that meant that you could be in one mood one minute, and the next you would somewhere different. "

So, who is up for the Bonobo preparty!?
Oh, and the show is at the Lambi on St-Laurent (March 2nd!)

OK, party on Montreal...

Hello everyone!

We are doing a donation drive for for homeless men and women at two homeless shelters. We would like to provide them with items for personal hygienic kits so that they can maintain cleanliness and presentablity. Rarely are the homeless given the basic hygiene supplies necessary to maintain their health and confidence. Every homeless person should be able to look themselves in the mirror and be proud of what they see even if they do not have a home. Access to basic personal supplies can give these homeless people a greater sense of self and a brighter outlook on life. We are going to be providing small pouches/sacs with each of these items below.

I would like to ask all of you if you would be able to donate items that would be helpful for the organization. For those who live in the Montreal area - if you can donate shampoo, small toothpaste, soap etc...it would be much appreciated!! The kits include cheap items that can be picked up while shopping or with a trip to the dollar store. By giving these basic supplies to us, you can help them avoid physical and dental health problems. Perhaps even more importantly, you can help them retain their dignity during a trying time in their lives.

We are looking for:

1. small bottles of shampoo
2. small toothpaste,
3. hand towel
4. toothbrush
5. soap
6. comb
7. hand sanitizers
8. tissue
9. deodorant
10. tampons – if we can find them or afford to get them….

If you can provide some of these items it would be helpful. We will be sorting them with items from other donors and placing them in small bags.We can pick them up from anywhere in Montreal.

You can contact me through this website. Please check this link for more information - createahealthyworld.blogspot.com/

I have checked out rave.ca, which is helpful if I knew what most of the DJs played. I don't know many people here and would love to go out and dance this weekend and the next in Montreal.

Stereo looks good, however they don't post what style the DJs are playing.

I have become a little more particular in what I like. If anyone has any helpful suggestions on some great breakz, some good downtempo or what you really think is awesome..please let me know.

Blessings and fun holidays,

It seems hard to get some Montreal people on this tribe, or more on the whole Tribe site...Well I guess we will make the bridge Together for Now.

So recently I was ask to describe Montreal Electronic scene, But there's so many things going on so many genders and People. Here's a little something from my scene in THE scene !! huhhh anyways :

Ive been around since 2000 or something like that, Always ready to go party where the endless beats was! Well for a newbie the first place you get to know it's those afterhours. They make some incridible booking but most of the time I find that people go there not for the same reason than I do, you know...So slowly I got to the hard shell of techno minimal scene passing thru different gender (House, prog, Electro, tech ... ) and get to know the mutek scene.

Most of the Musician are very protective of what they do. This is the thing between west and east for me. When I was in vancouver everyone seems to be sharing and help each others no matter what you do and that's what montreal miss, sure we do have some incridible artist but most of the time I think that there's a sort of a competition between them. It's my opinion. So this is my main project get people play with others and have fun while slicin or tweaking a loop !

We are about to have two Monthly night going on, one Hard Minimal tech and an other one more downtempo minimal in a sitting environement. AND IM planning on a mid term base to get some westcoast people to come here and play along with some montreal friends !

I try do a little in this non stop growing thing, I do have a lot of pleasure playing, or watch other playing. I am so happy to see people enjoying and danceon what we do and I hope it will continue to a point that everyone is really together.
i thaught some of you might be interested in this... my boyfriend and i started an ambient night about a month ago. it is a weekly event on saturdays at cafe touski, 2631 ontario - one block east of fullum. it starts around 7pm and finishes around 11pm. if you have not been before its a very chill space with a great ambience and amazing food. this week we have an artist from san fransisco doing a live pa... his name is upside down umbrella and his style is more idm than ambient. if you like this genre this is definitely something worth checking out.
