    It is not a rare placement but it is very intense. I have seen it a few times in readings. Saturn is not conjunct the s.node but is in the 8th house. You have a Pluto/Moon conj. in Scorpio conj. south node. This would in classic astrology indicate a very intense mother inheritance. It certainly can indicate a matriarcle intense journey in your family and death can wrap itself around that and it has a smell of vampiric energy. You have some very intense energy and you have to take care with this energy. You load up like a horse that needs to gallup. You have alot of empath energy to use but you may get sidetracked by projecting alot of illusions and theatrics. Your energy is careless if you are not on your game and your game is deeply intelligent and very provocative psychologically. You would make a crack on good thearapist/shrinkoid. You have some great emotional committments you can make and some remarkable insight you could bring into some damn good practical application. You just have to take care about how heavy your foot is on the gas pedal of the fast lane of life.
    You are caplable of some astute observations and healing others in their own emotional lives and challenges...

      Actually it is a good idea to give you an idea how rare this triple conj. is. Pluto/s.node/moon in Scorpio. When I said it wasn't all that rare I was basically referring to the triple conj. but not necessarily in Scorpio nor in the 8th. The nodes have an 18 year transit and you could break that down into 10 degrees over 5/6 months although nodes do go stationary and direct. You can see that your south node 9scorpio
      is moving in it's retrograde fashion toward your Pluto at 3 scorpio. This node conj. pluto will include alot of people born over those months of the transiting node over pluto. It is the moon in scorpio that is interesting. The moon will hang onto this scorpio conj. once a month for about a day. This will create the triple conj. in Scorpio in only 6 hours of births over as many months. Very rare all in all.

      The last time Pluto was in scorpio was approx. 250 years ago. Actually, the last time Pluto was in Scorpio and the south node was within a conjunction and the same scenario with the moon was 1743.

      This was the year that Handel wrote and performed " The Messiah" Just some interesting info...

    From one of my favorite astrologers, Myrna Lofthus:

    South Node in 8th House/North Node in 2nd House:

    There is a need "to develop" their personal resources (talents, money, possessions, sense of self-esteem) in order to share them in a partnership or group relationships. They should investigate and cultivate their potential so that they do not allow others to take care of their material needs, or to want to take care of others to the point that they do not allow others to develop their personal resources. There must be an equalitarian sharing of resources on the part of both partners or in any group relationships. They should not do all the work, nor should they allow others to do all the work.

    Moon conjunct South Node: The power of this conjunction will attract karmic situations to assist in emotional purification.
    Moon opposite North Node: An awareness should be developed concerning their need to find a spiritual teacher to assist in the purification of their emotional turmoil.

    Saturn conjunct South Node: The power of this conjunction will attract karmic situations which will teach them true humility
    Saturn opposite North Node: An awareness should be developed concerning the need to find spiritual teachers to help them learn true humility.

    Pluto conjunct South Node: The power of this conjunction will attract karmic situations which will enable them to elevate their consciousness.
    Pluto opposite North Node: An awareness should be developed concerning the need for spiritual teachers to teach them how to elevate their consciousness.

      IMO You can't talk about the South node without talking about the North node

      Yes Pluto is Scorpio generational, approximately 1984-1996 so thats a lot of people born within these 22 years.

      I don't believe they are all vampires or dark energy, evil is as evil does ... but if we're learning the lessons of Scorpio then...being in the dark is not a life long destiny or path... with these aspects or situations (with the moon in Scorpio I have seen intense situations with the mother or first caregiver) usually dark energy is a cover for pain ...we're here to be awaken...and this is a wake up call, not a life long damnation, and then with progressions and transits these lessons can be integrated... I would like to look at your chart.

      some aspects can be common as well, yet we're all unique
      so the individual and the whole chart must be looked at with all the aspects...

      Dates of South nodes in Scorpio

      Aug 3/47 - Jan 26/49
      Feb 20/66 - Aug 19/67
      Sep 12/84 - Apr 6/86

      "The North Node is the single most important point in the chart...it describes what your Soul wants to learn and experience in this life. It is a Soul Messenger." -Dog Star

      North Node in Taurus South node in Scorpio

      With North Node in Taurus, our South Node is in Scorpio in the eighth house.

      "A tendency to define our own worth and values in terms of our significant others, to be wrapped up in the needs of others at the expense of our own needs, and to attract confusing and intense life situations at the expense of comfort and peace are some of the issues this position suggests. With this position, we need to discover our own values, to depend on ourselves and to establish our self-worth through our own efforts, and to enjoy life's more serene moments without the unconscious need to create crises. We may invest too much time and energy into supporting others at the expense of our own comfort and needs. We cannot develop our self-worth through others alone—it needs to come from within. Learning to define our goals based on our own values, and then to work toward achieving them in a patient manner, will help us achieve more happiness and inner balance."

        Enough! and Away with the drama already ...and trauma and melodrama!

        No more tragic love stories, no more battles for power, struggles for revenge, hidden agendas and all the stuff of great novels. Just peace. Serenity. That’s the movement away from the South Node in the 8th house to the North Node in the 2nd house. Your Soul needs a rest…

        The 8th house South Node, ruled by Pluto, has struggled to transform and be re-born like the phoenix, and somewhere in all that struggling has come an exhaustion and weariness of the spirit. This life is now one where you are being called to rethink your values, your priorities, and put the Venus ruled 2nd house of Taurus back in its position of prominence.

        This is not the Venus of the struggle, but of gentle inquiry---the one that has the savvy to pick her own battles and chooses the “mutual fund” that agrees with her political and ecological consciousness. This is the Venus that soothes us, and reminds us of our roots in this good earth. She’d rather write a poem than put on the dress that makes her into the femme fatale. She finds the sacred in the commonplace, and makes it extraordinary.

        The South Node here has great gold in its shadowy inheritance---it has a hard won wisdom and occult knowledge that can serve us well when used right. Certainly astrologers and those interested in astrology, have resources here in the 8th house. But as always with the South Node there is the defeat and despair of what we didn’t get right earlier in this life or in a former life. We paid too much attention to other people’s business rather than our own. We were the power behind the throne, or the one who “borrowed” another’s values, glory, money or husband. Our own yearning for these things seemed to make it acceptable, but we missed the basic course in ethics and compassion and fairness.

        This new North Node in the 2nd house is deceptively easy---stay away from all that. Just be good and mind your own business. Enjoy yourself, don’t tell me you have to “work”---instead, take a picnic to the beach to watch that beautiful sunset. Easy….yes?!

          here are some good descriptions

          Pluto conjunct Moon (good)
          www.astrologyweekly.com/astrol...oon.php

          South Node conjunct Pluto
          www.astrologyweekly.com/astrol...uto.php

          This conjunction (to the South Node) creates a condition in which the native's will is out of harmony with prevailing social trends. The tendency to initiate things at the wrong time and place generates resentment and misunderstanding. The natives are forced to regenerate their lives without the help of others. Very often, large social events which are beyond their personal control endanger or destroy their work and personal security.

          On the positive side, this conjunction fosters self-reliance, resourcefulness, and the ability to survive under hardships. According to some astrological philosophers, this conjunction indicates a past life condition in which the natives initiated large-scale changes without regard to their effect on others' lives. Now they must learn how it feels to be the victim of circumstances beyond their control.

            Remember also that that Pluto and Moon are aspect to the the North node as well, and brings about Awareness (all oppositions do this)

            North Node in Taurus, South Node in Scorpio:

            North Node in Taurus represents a need to get in touch with your own self-worth, your values & awareness of comfort zones, what feels good, what doesn’t, relying on your own talents and resourcefulness (Taurus). The South Node in Scorpio represents a longing for close bonding and mutual empowerment with another person. The old pattern is to attempt to do this by buying into another person’s system of values and priorities (Scorpio). Your longing for a fulfilling intimate relationship will only be satisfied when you focus on your own strength, your own values, your own priorities. When you do so, the right people will appear to support your goals.

            btw I have south node in Scorpio and my north is conjunct by the sun

    I also have South Node in Scorpio in the 8th house--and I have to keep reminding myself of all the good medicine that is in that North Node Taurus in the Second House! In a nutshell, I would say keep looking to find the sacred in the commonplace and joy in the tangible/real/doable things in life that make this life worth living! Planets conjunct the South could be said, of course, to reflect something about you in a previous life, and the "emotional hangover" that could be a default pattern in this one. Think of "all things Taurus" for good medicine here....music, nature, loyal friends, earning self-confidence by doing things using your own resources, etc. Lots to ponder....~elizabeth spring

      Sometimes it's hard not to resent Taurus.

      I have nothing against the sign itself, I am so in love with it! But it's hard being a scorpio and all not to resent all that is 'Taurus' when every Taurus you've met has destroyed your heart.

      Before you think I'm being 'irrational' take a moment and think about what I'm actually saying, I know I'm being a little bit abstract! lol

        I did take a moment to think about that..and yes! Pretty amazing, how I have had so many relationships of all kinds with Taurus people and there's been a lot of stuff to work through...pain...call it what you like. Maybe the reason I hang in there with all these Taurus people is that I respect the loyalty to friends that is a trait of Taurus. However I've found that I've had to learn to forgive, and forgive, and forgive and let go....still doing it with my closest Taurus friend, but this time I'm not going to let it disempower me~elizabeth

          Now you all are hating on Taurus...what's up with that? oppositions are to bring about Awareness

          Earth School:

          1. Whatever it is looking for in others, it must find in itself.
          2. Whatever is lacking in the other, is a reflection of what is lacking in itself.
          3. Whatever it wants from another, it must first give to itself.

          relationship difficulties or patterns that keep repeating themselves in every relationship;

          * not knowing who you are and what you want;
          * not living up to your potential;
          * feeling trapped in a way of being, stressed out by efforts to please others;
          * stress;
          * job-related problems;
          * depression;
          * anxiety, panic attacks, phobias;
          * shyness and low self-esteem, lack of confidence;
          * general unhappiness with what seems like every aspect of your life;
          * simply wanting to get to know yourself better and enjoy life more.

          Because our experiences are, in the final analysis, ignited by our contacts with other people and because we project ourselves into relationships according to our consciousness it follows that unregenerate projection creates patterns of destiny that come back to us in the form of experiences of a painful or "bad" quality. We suffer through these alertings because we are made to perceive, by our reactions to other people and experiences, our own unregeneracy.

          The Higher Self "screams" at us: "Study this and learn from it; don't do this to another person, you've done it too often in the past; I insist that you redirect your reaction to this particular relationship or experience, because if you don't you will continue to misdirect your energy and darken your consciousness more than ever."

            I was seeing her point in really looking at how hard this can be. But I think you missed my point--there's no hating of Taurus, as it is my North Node, and I think that the forgiveness and letting go process I mentioned above is just what you are talking about. It takes in all that you mentioned. My book: "North Node Astrology" is all about the oppositions inherent within the chart, within our lives, especially the North and South Nodes. So, yes, here is our deepest oppositional karmic learning that shows up so often in relationships. ~ elizabeth

        Remember, when the Lunar Nodes are in Taurus and Scorpio, there is an energy field created that contains elements of both energies. One needs to get an OVERALL VIEW of these AS POLARITIES of a WHOLE, rather than dwell in one or the other.

        Here is an excerpt from a book (__The Astrology of Self-Discovery__ by Tracy Marks) which gives the lessons of the Nodes through this energy field:
        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        TAURUS/SCORPIO LUNAR NODES: LESSONS

        LESSON #1: The more we possess ourselves and the more we provide for ourselves, the less we need to possess others, and the less we expect others to provide for us. Other people cannot fill the void in our self-esteem; they cannot make up for our inability to respect, value, and support ourselves. Through knowing what we have to use and to give, through valuing and utilizing our own resources, we can express our personal power in relationships rather than demand that others empower us.

        LESSON #2: Through integrating the physicality/sensuality of Taurus and the sexuality/passion of Scorpio, we begin to experience an all-embracing sexuality which involves total body fulfillment while affirming our values. Our sexual experiences reinforce and maintain our self-respect and respect for others, while simultaneously enabling us to surrender fully and know complete emotional, spiritual, and physical satisfaction.

        LESSON #3: The passion and intensity of Scorpio need not lead to self-indulgence or frustrating self-denial, but can be channelled and harnessed in our commitment to concrete practical action, as well as care for our own resources and our physical bodies. Energy which could be destructive to ourselves and others can become constructive when grounded in physical tasks and experience; it can build rather than destroy. Our ability to transform, sublimate and channel our desire nature can feed our self-esteem and self-support as well as lead to intensive and solid productivity in the world.

        LESSON #4: Our values, established through Taurus, need to incorporate the awareness of what is really essential, which Scorpio can provide. Scorpio attunes us to that which makes us feel alive, that which resonates with our core energy. As we contact the deeper forces of our being we are able to discover and experience deeper and more substantial satisfactions. Knowing our truest values, we become able to eliminate that which is inessential in our lives, while holding onto what is essential. Taurus has holding power, and Taurus, once it has gained the essential awareness of Scorpio and Scorpio's eliminative capacities, can enable us to hold to ourselves--to our highest values, and to our commitement to giving them concrete physical form in our lives

        QUOTES:

        "I call neurotic any man who uses his potential to manipulate others instead of growing up himself. He takes control, gets power-mad and mobilizes friends and kin in places where he is impotent to use his own resources. (Fritz Perls)

        "Courage means the power to LET GO of the familiar and the secure." (Rollo May)

        "I would have you consider your judgment and your appetite even as you would two guests to your home. Surely you would not honor one guest above the other; for he who is more mindful of one loses the love and faith of both." (Kahlil Gibran)
        ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

        My own view is that the Taurus/Scorpio polarity is about true ART and the meaning of ART as Creative Power to transform ourselves, our lives, and our world.

          My son and I share this in our very intense composite.

          Moon-Pluto-South Node conjunct in scorpio in the 8th.
          This combo makes the apex of a kite, oppose venus in the 2nd. (Sun is also here but not conjunct venus or nn - in aries not taurus)
          Moon-pluto SN sextile neptune in the 11th and jupiter in the 7th.
          It makes a perfect kite.

          I have no doubt that we share a very intense past life - in fact I "remembered him" when he was born. (In a sense) I work hard to keep the intensity out of our relationship but this is hard to do. We have such an intense connection and he is very attached. Boundries have always been a problem and I have to constantly work at keeping them in place.

          I have taurus rising so I'm a nature girl! I grow flowers and garden, have a huge appreciation for beauty and nature and have several pets that I fuss over. I believe this has helped us both drown out the "noise" that could easily whip itself into a frenzy between us. Since I'm the parent, it has been my job to help him to be quiet and listen...to birds, frogs at night and sometimes feelings. We also talk about the stars, smell flowers and take nature walks. I think our souls needed a "rest" in this relationship! We're working at it.
