SouthNode conjunct Venus and Mars

topic posted Thu, January 14, 2010 - 5:50 AM by  alessandra
Hi, I am quite new to the Nodes, and Astrology in general, but I am totally fascinated by the spiritual/karmic meaning of the Nodes.
First of all, can anybody recommend a good program to establish the synastry aspects of the Nodes?
From what I can see in my bi-wheel synastry chart, my ex's North Node is 14 Aquarius in IX, meaning that his South Node is in conjunct with my Venus and my Mars in Leo, and also my Midheaven (does it matter?)and Fortune, while my North Node(Taurus 18 in VII) seems to be conjunct to his Moon and Saturn. Again, not really sure, here is our chart, if I manage to paste it.
Can anybody make any sense of it at all?
I am very confused by the push/pull aspect of this relationship and the net feeling of having met again after many lifetimes together for deep deep healing.

thanks to anybody that can share some knowledge about it

this link doesn't bring up the chart, only the page where you entered the data
maybe you can copy the image and post in your photos

basically, the south node represents past/karma/origins/ where you're coming from (Nnode is about spiritual purpose or trajectory/destiny in this life)
feelings about many past lifetimes makes sense . . . not necessarily lifetimes that both specific entities shared together. but at least that (re:his Snode and your venus/mars) indicates that the role you play(ed) in his life addressed issues that he brought with him into this life. This puts YOU in position of being someone to continue that saga with. In his eyes, you may become a scapegoat for his karma, or a presence that is holding him back; or a familiar cushion for him to "fall back" on. If I were in his shoes, I might be tempted to refer to you as, "that witch who has me by my gonads [venus/mars reference]" --or something to that effect.

his moon/saturn cnj your north node may (having not seen the rest of the synastry chart) have been a big factor in your attraction to him: saturn representing order/rules/structure/discipline/father, etc and moon suggesting his empathy towards/with your higher purposes and goals in this life --a recipe or means or collaborator for achieving them.

that's just a small (fuzzy?) snapshot, however,
with those factors in the mix, it's likely that the rest of the chart paints an even more impelling picture.

i'd like to emphasize that synastry between A's south node and B's [inner] planets or luminaries does not say that the entities have known each other in a previous life Each of you sharing the same nodal axis (A's nodes conjunct B's nodes) would certainly raise that question.
B's planets in synastry with A's Snode simply says that B would REPRESENT deep seated issues belonging to A.

hey Steve, thank you so much! Your reply was so interesting that I am wondering if you could have a look at the whole chart and tell me if you see a clearer picture from it. I have managed to upload the synastry chart in my photos. (Great idea, thanks!!!) I am the inner wheel, and he's the outer one.

      thank you!!!

ps I think the definition "that witch who has me by my gonads" could be very well what's going on his mind right now... and of course I AM a witch!!!!

his saturn and moon are not cnj your n node, but all 3 are in your 7th house, so my suggestions re: the nature of your attraction to him would remain the same.
the big thing i see in your chart is the n node in the early 7th, suggesting that partnership (of any sort) is a critical element/factor in achieving your spiritual purpose this time around. N node being in Taurus, you'd like to see your growth reflected (7th house again) in some substantive manner.
Your natal neptune in your 1st house cnj your south node suggests that you'd be welll aware that life is an eternal spiritual journey being driven in part by a deep and significant "past", and you can always find some comfort in that awareness.

        thanks for the look

that's very true! the path from my South Node in Scorpio, with all that messiness, neediness, passion and trouble towards the goal of the Taurus representing emotional independence and strength, the ability to count on your own little self and learning to love you for that..... Only at that point you can say that you are mature enough for a true kind of least that's the way I see it..

Hey, some astologers say that saturn aspects in synastry are the sign of a 'doomed' kind of attraction. What do you think about that?

i'd say "fated" rather than doomed
"well" placed (natal) or aspected (synastry) saturn represents endurance and/or stability
prominent saturn in composite indicates a "karmic union"

I would love to add one thing to this discussion: saturn contacts create stability and endurance IF (and only IF) people are genuinly attracted to each other and genuinly willing to have a positive relationship with each other.

I add this because many, many times I read posts from people with what I call imaginary relationships. Saturn is not a miracle planet. He may cause repulsion as often as he creates stability - and usually he creates both. So if you fancy mr or mrs X and notice a saturn inter-aspect somewhere, this does NOT automatically generate a 'love of your life'. It may just as well lead to nothing at all.

Like Stevio indicated, saturn aspects should always be evaluated relative to the whole synastry chart. It takes a lot of attraction factors (person A's sun or venus conjunct person B' ascendant or descendant, planets from A falling in B's 5th house) to make a saturn inter aspect change from mere repulsion into "I want to take care of you for the rest of my life". If all that attraction & other indicators of a love relationship are not there, most likely saturn does not work out really positive. He may still be able to keep the two of you together for a considerable amount of time, but not for the most positive reasons.
