My Moon is conjunct the South Node, (within two degrees), and it's at 28 degree Capricorn, (the S. node at 26 degrees).
All this is in my twelf house.
Any help with what this means?

Re: Moon conjunct South Node
Wed, February 25, 2009 - 12:47 PMHi,
It means someone who prefers to retreat in his own organized world and one who naturally has very rigid and serious characteristics. Intuitively he knows very deeply where he belongs to and where his roots are, his family/origin/country. He has a lot of unconscious past memories of organization and responsibility but can’t find now an easy practical outlet for them.

Re: Moon conjunct South Node
Thu, February 26, 2009 - 7:33 AMSouth Node in Capricorn shows that you have been in command and management positions in past lives, and so it is easy for you to do. You may have been a powerful woman who ruled over others; perhaps a Queen or powerful Priestess, perhaps a woman CEO. Or perhaps you were a leader of Soldiers, a General or Commander of some kind. You value a job well done and while you expect things from others, you expect no less from yourself. However, you need to be aware that in THIS life, you are learning to get in touch with your "gut," or your instinct/intuition. If you are driven to achieve outward recognition and power just for the sake of being in control, you are not growing.....you are standing still.
With your North Node in Cancer, you are learning to understand that accomplishments should bring you contentment and a deep feeling of satisfaction. Without these feelings, you are just going through the motions. When you consult your feelings and respect your inner needs as you move through life, you will accomplish great things. They may not look like much to others, but you will know in your heart that you are doing (and helping others to do) great things.
Also, with your North Node in Cancer, you are learning to be more of a nurturing person. You find positive ways to care for others and teaching them how to care for themselves can be quite rewarding for you. Working with charities or rescue efforts can be a way to channel this care and nurturing. Working with the food industries or taking care of children are also good outlets in which to learn.
Taking care of your body is important with your North Node in the 6th House, and you may discover that developing a broad-based knowledge of health and fitness is the key to your sense of wholeness. It's also important to extend yourself in service to others and to find ways to develop a truly cooperative spirit.
Your old patterns symbolized by the South Node in your 12th house center on escapist tendencies and isolation that may be based on irrational fears or tendencies toward martyrdom. This is past life experience, and now you can let it go. You don't have to be a martyr or suffer for "your people" or "your country." You can enjoy a full life that is very satisfying and creative in your present life; you can learn to relax and just "be".
The Moon conjunct the South Node will attract karmic situations to you where you will be called upon to do emotional clearing for yourself. Doing a "chakra clearing" is a good idea....and you can do this regularly. (Doreen Virtue has a wonderful CD that will guide you to chakra clearing for morning and evening!) You will most likely meet a Spiritual Teacher who will help you with emotional healing and cleansing. This Teacher will combine the physical with the spiritual in a unique way.
The Moon in the 12th house gives you the ability to feel the energy around you at a vibrational level. You may have difficulty separating your own feelings from those of the other people around you. Although this quality may be quite helpful in situations that involve counseling or other therapeutic services, it can add to your emotional fatigue unless you've learned how to create an emotional filter. Clearing your energy through conscious focus, allowing you to release any emotional energy you've absorbed from dealing with others, can make a big difference in your sense of vitality and emotional resilience.
Be gentle with yourself. When you move to a new place, it takes a while to grow "new roots." The same is true of relationships with people---you need a little time before you open your energy to them, but once you do, your connection is powerful.
With Capricorn on the cusp of the 12th house, you may be fascinated with the idea of trying to control your subconscious self. You must realize that there is a distinctive difference between mindfulness, which involves focused awareness, and negative restraint. Your goal is that of attaining true mindfulness. You may feel bound by karmic ties to certain things in your life....perhaps you feel a great responsibility toward a certain country, ethnic group, religion, etc. A past-life investigation may shed some light on this karma. By focusing your awareness to your inner self and unlocking your fears, you may begin to release yourself. Your experience of the importance of taking responsibility for yourself and for the evolution of your own Soul can allow you to transcend mere physical attainment and accomplish true spiritual awakening!

Re: Moon conjunct South Node
Thu, February 26, 2009 - 10:42 AMThank you so very much for the thoroughness of your response, Maggie!
You touched on so many relevant things, I must give some feedback from my own experience to illustrate:
- Getting in tune with my gut, and learning to trust it, has been paramount to my entire life
- Glad to report that I actually have some catching up to do in terms of a want to achieve recognition/control - I'm more of a lazy hippie
- In part, I've been seeking the satisfaction from work more than any material reward; and helping others, or just having a meaningful career in general, is very important to me.
- Many experiences speak to the "nuturing person" effect you mentioned
- I'm on a rigorous spiritual path that is all about balancing the chakras and mindfullness
- The suffering for groups aspect seems to be exasperated by the implications of my 8th house stellium, and periods of isolation are very common for me. There's no short story I have about my attempts at discovering my past lives – suffice to say I make a bad hypnotic subject...
- I'm sometimes very sensitive to others around me - it's relative to how much I have going on. Creating that emotional filter is a priority to create a less-permeable, more-discriminatory boundary for myself. This all ties in with the need for emotional cleansing and the benefit of my spiritual training. I often get the chills from people for no reason, and around other people I become highly jovial.
- I take some time to warm up to people; there's a lot of ice to break through until I feel trusting enough to start "letting people in".
- My spiritual path has granted me a great teacher; a redeeming blessing of my 10th house neptune I suppose, (by the way, that tenth house neptune adds to the effect of wanting a meaningful career that nurtures mankind [ie healthcare R&D] rather than one that harms mankind [pick any life-negative corporation]).
- My Aquarius ascendant adds to my awareness of the subconscious, and my Scorpio sun adds passionate desire to control the subconscious -- it's MY subconscious and I want to know what the hell it's doing over there, lol... So added to the Node's aspect, I can see how I ended up in this mess, lol...
Everything seems right on the money – thanks again for taking the time to respond to my inquiry! -

Re: Moon conjunct South Node
Thu, February 26, 2009 - 1:01 PMBrendan....thanks for the feedback! It helps! (BTW, I should let you know that I did sample from a few other astrologers in my reading for you).
IF you are still interested in investigating past lives, you don't have to do it by hypnosis. There is a wonderful book by Gloria Chadwick called __Discovering Your Past Lives__ that has great exercises in it that will open you to your own past life memories.
www.amazon.com/Discoverin.../0809245469
But since you seem to be on the path of spiritual evolution, there is really no need to remember any past lives, unless you want to! :-)
May your path always be blessed by love! -

Thu, February 26, 2009 - 5:03 PMFeedback is important for us astrologers! If astrology can evolve into a legitimate science, there are a whole lot of variables that need to be studied. I've never known enough about the nodes, and reading the posts in this tribe have been very insightful.
Checked up on the Chadwick book and the price is right! Most of the copies are selling for a penny - even a lazy hippie can afford that...
Poor hypnotists... I can't stop giggling when anyone tries to trance me out, even though I don't want to make them feel bad about their abilities... I feel bad that I'm laughing during their induction, but I can't seem to help it.
I appreciate the warmth of your blessing. As we say in Thelema, "Love is the law, love under will." How's that for utter congruency? -

Fri, February 27, 2009 - 10:33 AMRe: Hypnosis
I did a series of hypnosis "journies" for a Creative Writing class. My hypnotist was the Creative Writing teacher who was doing the "creativity through hypnosis" thing for his Masters Degree thesis.
One thing he taught me is "All hypnosis is self-hypnosis." So it is basically up to the individual how deep (or not) they want to go. ;-)
