I looked at the Ephemeris at Astrodient.
Started to confuse.
I found there were two node symbols-one, a usual node symbol, the other ..has 'T' inside of the Node symbol. does it mean True Node?
Anyone link me up to the explanation of South node, North node, and True node?

Re: Basic q: TN+NN +SN
Tue, July 28, 2009 - 10:10 PMHello again ev,
true node is same as North Node...the symbol looks sort of like a horseshoe. -

Wed, July 29, 2009 - 11:54 AMHey~Sweet!
Thanks so much.
So did u see the symbol for NN shown ephemeris in Astrodient?
there is one like horseshoe, the other is a small 't' letter inside of the horseshoe. What's the difference?
BTW, I asked a bunch of q's on the Pluto +Venus tribe to YOU. If u have time..

Re: Basic q: TN+NN +SN
Wed, July 29, 2009 - 2:12 PMTrue Node uses a different calculation than North Node (which is mean).
What’s the difference between the terms True Node, Mean Node, and North Node?
The terms True Node and Mean Node both refer to the same thing.
True and Mean are two different ways of calculating the Moon’s North Node.
The Moon’s Nodes move backwards through the Zodiac at a rate of one revolution every 18.5 years. When astronomers calculate the Mean Node, they take the nodes’ rate of motion and average it out. The resulting position is the Mean Node.
In reality, the Nodes “wobble” a bit. Once astronomers obtained instruments sensitive enough to measure this wobble, they began to plot its course and call this position the True Node. Although the Nodes move around the Zodiac in a retrograde direction, the True Node is sometimes direct. The Mean Node is always retrograde.

Fri, July 31, 2009 - 12:23 PMLove to you~
Still, regarding to the symbol for NN shown ephemeris in Astrodient,
What's the difference btw the one like horseshoe, the other is a small 't' letter inside of the horseshoe?
One left Aquarius on July 29, the other is leaving. -

Re: Basic q: TN+NN +SN
Wed, August 5, 2009 - 9:06 PMI did a quick look & I couldn't find a direct reference (that's not the first time that has happened for me on astrodienst) but, I would guess that the regular symbol for NN is calculated the 'mean' way & only when the 't' appears it is calculated by the 'true' method.

Re: Basic q: TN+NN +SN
Wed, August 5, 2009 - 9:19 PMI see that on my astro.com chart, the T in the horseshoe, and mine is Direct. This method still places the S Node in direct opposition, correct?
