Here is something from my book on Chiron conjunct each node:

CHIRON CONJUNCT NORTH NODE
Like Donna Van Toen, I feel that the North Node is a point of growth, a point of untapped potential . . . To get at this potential you have to work darned hard. With Chiron here . . . the individual must work even harder, initially. [I’ll explain, later.] At the South Node, on the other hand, are those talents and abilities that are so much a part of you, that you do not need to develop them further. If you use them for yourself, you get into a rut, and end up feeling that you are going nowhere. If you use them for other people, it is like taking money from an unlimited trust fund---you always have enough more to give.
Now any person has the tendency to rely upon the South Node, rather than to strive in the direction of the North. But the person with Chiron on the North Node has a double difficulty: not only the normal human nature to follow the South---but also, it takes a conscious effort to search for the pathway represented by Chiron---to seek the teacher, the guru, the light. The average person born with Chiron conjunct North Node tends to talk a lot about how s/he wants to achieve the great things represented by the natal house occupied by Chiron---but constantly returns to doing things as s/he has always done them at the South Node. S/he may often seem to be on the verge of taking the big step forward, only to revert to the prior line of least resistance. However, should that person actually take that Step---and many do---there develops a particular talent bordering on genius. S/he becomes very conscious of the needs of others and can become a great teacher in his/her own right. And s/he follows a truly unique path.

CHIRON CONJUNCT SOUTH NODE
As with the North Node conjunction, those who have Chiron conjunct South Node have difficult lessons to learn. Those who do not learn it tend to fall back upon their past. Problems they have today are ascribed to a strange or terrible childhood, and there is a reluctance to try working them out. When they are under stress, they tend to fall back on this excuse, or begin to act in an erratic manner, allowing Chiron’s Maverick nature to come out in its most negative expression. The lesson seems to be that they should move on from the past---not let it rule them. They learned a lot from it---but now, it is time to go forward. Those who do learn begin to share their unique insights with others. They have integrated Chiron and it is so much a part of their nature that they can draw upon it whenever another is in need of being helped. They aim their sights at the North Node and seem to attract people who can be helped by their Chiron.

Hi! For decades, I used the nodes as Isabel Hickey introduced them (way before Martin Schulman and others took her ideas and expanded upon them). As a professional astrologer, I began to find discrepancies, e.g. a close friend and client with Moon, Pluto, and the North Node in the 4th house in Cancer who was way too home-oriented and needed in fact to pursue her South Nodal path.

But until I began studying with a Vedic master, I didn't understand the incredibly rich and 4,000 year Vedic understandings about the nodes, which have been treated as planets in Vedic astrology since the beginning.

Since then, I have developed very deep insights into the nodes, and have published several articles on them.

They are all available for free on my website. Here are some of the links:

http://www.soulhealing.com/may04astro.htm
and this one published in the British Association of Vedic Astrology Journal:

I hope that they all expand your awareness of the attributes, meanings, and uses of the nodes.

Is this a negative aspect? I mean yes I can see how going in reverse can be bad but can't it mean karmic love where maybe you dont have to work at it like you have in the past...that you have other things to work on instead?

There are other aspects that support this and may be why its so familiar and easy but I am worried that it wont necessarily be a good thing. Any insight on this?

Here the soul is confronted with some of the most difficult karmic lessons in the zodiac. Past lives have been strewn with endings as the Plutonian force of Scorpio worked through its process of transformation. Now the individual is so frightened by the memory of having the rug constantly pulled out from under their feet that they develop a defensive attitude toward all who offer them regenerative advice. In past incarnations, you literally went through the fires of hell to burn away your false values. Now instead of falling back on the remains of Scorpio still within yourself, you must build, through Taurus, a new set of substantial values to live by.
Nearly all with these nodes have at one time touched the force of Witchcraft, and so in the current life there is a rude awakening about any remaining residue of the lower Self.

In past incarnations, you had to deal with a powerful sex drive which kept throwing you off balance. As a result, you're used to seeking gratification through relationships which ultimately become destructive to the ego. Then, confused and embittered by all that you see toppling around you, you're almost glad to aid in the destruction of whatever little remains.

Most of the conditions in this life are still controlled from your subconscious level, buried deeply below the scrutinizing eyes of society. You may appear jovial and friendly while you're, in fact, planning some mysterious adventure of intrigue inside.

The chart must be studied carefully to see just how far your soul has come out of Scorpio before an accurate interpretation can be given. For those who are already closer to Taurus, the violent churning of Scorpio is purposely avoided at all costs. For those barely out of Scorpio, the internal revolutions are still going on. Planets conjunct either Node will pull the individual toward that Node and literally force them to live through it in their current life.

For all with these Nodes, the past residue of revolution is such powerful intensity that there is bound to be some after-effect spilling over into their present life relationships with family members and close loved ones.

Each day seems to be filled with new emergencies, until one crisis built upon another creates such a turmoil of conflict that the individual is reduced to their most basic struggle for survival. You don't yet know the art of moderation or how to take things at face value for you still believe that others always have an ulterior motive. Inside, you feel that you must constantly escape from punishment, and in your escape you leave behind you a tornado-like shamble of all you once held dear. At times, you see others turning on you but rarely do you stop to see that you are the cause. Whether you're still scting out your past incarnations in Scorpio or advancing through Taurus, your fixed stubborness is very much a part of your ingrained way of doing things.

You will make much growth when you are able to see the actions of others as reflections of your own subconscious!

From past incarnations you've become accustomed to attuning yourself to a peculiar brand of intensity, which when not allowed to express itself, turns to anger. You have become deeply scarred with the pain of being hurt, and now like a wounded animal can be deadly to any who represent the slightest threat. (I find this to be so true!) On the lower levels of consciousness, those with these Nodes can pursue their prey with a personal vendetta. Then when the peices fall, they appear to be the innocent victims while they're, in fact, the carefully planned victors.

Due to the intense emotion constantly seeking expression, a variety of creative outlets are needed.

Sexual desire must be transmuted into Divine Love. All embittering conditions from past incarnations must be dropped from your consciousness until the new seed of peace is discovered. The Scorpio south node must burn the bridges of the past and resolve to benefit from the lessons of Lot's wife: "Never look back!"

Through the Taurus North Node, you must learn not to dissipate or waste power that flows within you in valueless areas. Your greatest achievement in this life occurs when, through the development of a great love of the Earth, you live on. You start to appreciate glimpses of the source of your unfailing supply and support. For lifetimes you have misused your energy, drives and desires, feeling alone against all the oppressions and afflictions that affect mankind. Now through the sensitive impressions of your Taurus North Node, your are to be brought to the awareness that the abundance of the universe is so great that you'll always have what you need when you need it. You must learn to distinguish the difference between the words WANT and NEED, for although you may not always be able to realize what you want, you are surrounded by what you need at every moment.

As you reach for your Taurus North Node, you're reaching, at last, for stability. You can stop chasing all that you've ever felt cheated of by seeing all that is now offered to you. Ultimately, you're destined in this life to reach a state of contentment as the seething volcanoes of Scorpio melt into the blue spirit waters of harmony in Taurus -- where the beloved Gautama Buddha left his blessing. Truly, this is the transition from lifetimes of war into a garden of peace.

The house position of South Node indicates the area in life where any remaining residue of the Scorpionic battles must be conquered, while the house position of the North Node shows the area in life where the new awareness of trust and security can ultimately replace the underlying struggles.
He/she joked that the reason why there was little liturature on it was due to the fact that "there were no survivors" lol. I couldn't post to the thread since the person has unsuscribed so I thought I would post this just in case anyone else needed an interpretation of this aspect.

As a person with a Mars quincunx their North Node, I feel that it is the aspect that creates the biggest inferiority complex within me. I often feel that my actions hinder my personal success and that others are negatively judging me when I express my sex drive, ambition, motivation, and/or vitality. This causes confusion in that my expressions of aggression leave me with a great strain of guilt. I have a hard time determining when my actions have been reasonable versus when they have not been reasonable.

I have put intimate relationships on the back burner so that I can focus on my career. I turned down a 90K job b/c I felt that the job was in someway wrong. I keep anything concerning my initmate relationships, ambitions, motivations very private and feel very guilty and embarassed when they are exposed.

I usually agress myself at the wrong time which causes many misunderstandings. The timing is usually wrong b/c it takes me a lot of time to decide whether I should act or whether I shouldn't act...I always waver between the questions of "Should I risk making a fool out of myself by acting?" of "Should I risk making a fool out of myself by not acting?".

I am thinking it clearly explains my giant leap of faith and optimism. Also the transiting north node is currently conjunct my IC. I am thinking this means I am turning inward and working on my private self...and since my south node would be conjunct my MC I am assuming it means I need to let go of the ego and worrying about what other people think. Basically with the two transits I mentioned happening at the same time I am thinking it is a time of growing spiritually and looking at life for more than the ego perspective.
Anyone have any insight on how North node tranists work?

Therefore it's sub ruled by Libra. It certainly has been my aim to look towards the future, but to strike a harmonic balance. That can be easier said that done. But it's important to strive towards it, and find the neccessary energies as and when they are needed.

There is no future without balance. The Aquarian influence can be stimulating,. yet this energy can go off the rails.

I have read a fair amount about the nodes, and interpretations through books and online about south node conjunct neptune. but i feel it is much more personal to me, being a pisces, having Nadir in pisces, having sun square neptune, including mercury into that mix, looking back over my life, especially through childhood, i can definately feel a kinship with what neptune embodies. but I am really very interested in past lives. So, from looking at my chart over and over, it would seem i have a very tight entaglement with all things neptunian, or perhapse all negative things neptunaian? though im not a drug user, or alcoholic, but I am a terrible escapist from reality sufferer.

I also wonder, having an outer planet conjunct the south node, is this indicative of some kind of generational karma lumbered onto those individual born with that aspect? my mother has uranus conjunct south node, seems she has attracted some crazy situations throughout her life. as a child she was highly intuitive and psychic (she has neptune conjunct midheaven, and moon pisces) but I know uranus gives sudden unexpeted flashes of insight, breaking out of normailty, and she was certainly the abnormal one growing up in her family, as I was the complete day dreamer growing up in mine.

Any theories or opinions on my chart plaicement and past life possibilites? I am very interested in pin pointing what karma seems to be needed to work out in my lifetime.

FOURTH HOUSE NORTH NODE / TENTH HOUSE SOUTH NODE

[from the book, "Karmic Astrology: The Moon's Nodes & Reincarnation" by Martin Schulman]

You must learn to overcome the karmic feeling that you are the vital center of all situations around you.

You come into the current life with subconscious memories of a past sense of dignity, which leads you to believe that at least certain areas of life experiences are beneath you.

Your prior incarnations have put you in the position of being captain of your own ship, if not the commander of others. As a result, you're used to assuming an authoritative position whenever the weaknesses of others trigger your powerful need to take charge.

You enjoy the role of protector and go to extremes in filling your life with those whose very weaknesses put them under your dominion. By doing so, you're constantly testing your own power to stand tall.

This is the loneliest position for, here, you are so concerned with your individual mission that you never allow others to see into your real self uderneath. What you show is a facade or the uniform of the role you feel obliged to play. In the current life, you go through experiences which teach you to come down off your skyscraper and make sure of the foundation underneath. It is within the area of your most highly intimate relationships within your family that the stage is set for your lifelong battle in an attempt to gain control of your own roots.

Many with these Nodes have one unusually demanding parent whose expectations encourage them to believe that they are truly destined to acheive a position of sitting on top of the world. As a result, they are discontent with whatever situation they're in, for it always falls short of what they intended to do.

The karmic lesson here is that, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." You must overcome your readiness to forsake what you have for the possibility of attaining what you don't have.

So unwilling are you to see yourself in the backseat position that when circumstances force you to do so, you may even contemplate suicide in extreme cases; for you firmly believe that without acheiving some great destiny, life is utterly worthless.

This incarnation brings you through the experience of facing the conflict between a career for yourself and the demands of your family. You must learn maturity; for with all your projected strength. power and dignity, you are nearly a cripple when it comes to solving your own emotional problems. You must examine your roots and after pulling your head out of the clouds of the past, build a practical foundation for your future.

Eventually, you learn that your organizing for others is merely a distraction from putting your own life in order.

The relationship established with parents early in life is more important in these Nodes than in any other position of the zodiac. Here, you will spend much of your life energy attempting to be totally free and independent of your parents, yet always conscious of how much you depend on them. Nevertheless, the reaction patterns to life continue to show a definite parental defiance, masking a strong need for parental love.

Your soul is at a point in Karma where you feel unappreciated for all your efforts. Your past incarnation residue is based on acheivement for the sake of recognition and appreciation. Now, achievement is to be its own reward. Your soul must stop trying to gain an audience for your deeds, realizing that the audience will always be there if the deeds are great enough. It is in this process of seeking an audience through which you tend to lose yourself. You must literally transform your 4th house into a new birth of emotional attitudes, learning the lessons that when a person stands on their tiptoes they're unsteady.

The lfe of the person standing on his tiptoes is like the beautiful orchid: a splendid sight to behold when raised and nourished under the most delicately controlled environmental conditions, but once the orchid is prepared for display, it is snipped from its roots, ensuring wilting and certain death after a short time. This individual is faced with the choice of being the overlooked orchid growing in a garden of thousands or sacrificing their own happiness to be the beautiful flower on someone's lapel. As soon as you overcome your past life need for display, you can start to grow to the maturity you're so desperately seeking.

The sign which contains the South Node indicated the ways through which you still overemphasize your importance. The sign which contains the North Node shows how you can grow to become, in substance, so emotionally fulfilled that you no longer have to equate your happiness with your soul memory of past life personal esteem.
From what I've been through in the past year, while the NN was transiting the 7th house, I would definitely say that the North node clears out some karma with some positive emotions during the final degrees of the transit. For instance, I went through many negative experiences with friends and romantic prospects, but ended up with the goal of pursuing positive relationships and seeing people clearly.

In regard to NN transits, Is that how this works (because my 7th house situations could also be attributed to a Neptune transit)? Creating an emotional desire to work toward that house for the year, mistakes or reworked karma until you get to the end of the house and figure it out? I haven't found a lot about the NN online. Does anybody have experiences they would like to share? Thanks!

After doing some of th worksheet I found that my SN is in Gemini in the 10th house, with Gemini's Ruler Mercury in my 6th house conjunct Venus and sextile my Moon. I have up to this point totally been living my SN. I am a lawyer by trade so put a lot of value and reliance on my mental faculties of logic and reason. I also have spent most of my 20's and less so in my 30's focused on my career, climbing the corporate ladder and tryng to build a reputation as a solid, objective, rational leader. But I have always felt something was missing......

My NN is in Saggitarius in the 4th house conjunct my Neptune, widely conjunct Mars and Square Jupiter. The ruler of my NN Jupiter is in the 8th house in Pisces. Neptune and Jupiter are Square but in mutual reception in each others rulers. I understand that the 4th house is the "domestic front", your history and sometimes your soul...but without having a family I don't really understand what NN in the 4th means or how to combine it with the my SN skills.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the 4th house or how to integrate 4th house Sagittarius goals (freedom, traveller, optimism, faith, philosophy) with what I am doing now without a family.....(I am dating...just not desperate) :) Oh and by the way ...I am over 30 if that helps....

My Mercury's in 3 degrees Pisces, squaring my Moon-Mars-Jupiter all conjunct in 0 degree Gemini, while also making a conjunction to my North Node in 4 degrees Pisces, and my Vertex, in 5 degrees Pisces.

I also read that Jupiter squaring the NN means you have problems adjusting to any public institutions. And that's very true. Despite my Moon, Mars, Jupiter all being in the 9th house, and my Pluto in the 3rd, I always hated school, and finally realized I just cannot learn in someone else's determined pace and rhythm.

And, unfortunately, it's not just school. I have a problem with most authority figures and laws, in general.

THE NORTH NODE JOURNEY TO YOUR SOUL MISSION

By Linda Lee Adams

The North Node represents the valuable key towards understanding your soul mission. It provides meaning as part of a continual discovery of your life’s journey. Learning about the north node in the signs lends access to the numerous ways you can experience more joy, happiness and inner harmony. In order to determine your soul potential take a look at the North Node and South Node chart in Linda Brady’s book: “Discovering Your Soul Mission; How To Use Karmic Astrology To Create The Life You Want”, (chapter 4, pgs. 75-77). What do the nodal positions mean?

Learning about your south node is an equally important reference point as the south node is symbolic of your past; it is a combination of many incarnations. Below is a chart highlighting the Nodal Points:
South Node North Node
Aries Libra
Taurus Scorpio
Gemini Sagittarius
Cancer Capricorn
Leo Aquarius
Virgo Pisces

There are derivatives of past life experiences, attitudes, thoughts and energies that have led you to the current life. For instance, do you fall back on the familiar when challenges appear in your life? Have you seen someone that you just know you have met before? Do cosmic 2x4’s hit you again and again with the same life lessons? Therefore, according to Martin Schulman, “the potentially weakest spot in any horoscope is the south node for it represents the footsteps we have left behind us,” (“Karmic Astrology”, p. 23).

The Sun shines upon the sensual sign of Taurus from April 20 – May 20, 2003. The planet Venus rules Taurus, and provides a stable, luxurious, warm-hearted landscape. As the strong oak tree grows into a fixed part of rich soil, Taurus resonates with the permanency of the earth. As Taurus meanders along, it is a time for solidifying life.

The mythical lore of Taurus involves the white bull that courted Europa; yet Zeus was the white bull in disguise. As the god changed back into his normal form, he then placed the bull in the heavens. Thus we have the trusted placement of Taurus the bull. Its strong powers of endurance transcend the changing scenes of history.

Although Taurus may lack flexibility and originality, their sense of values, appreciation of the arts, and love of fine wine and gourmet food provide the world with a reliable taste of the good life. Those kindred spirits with a North node in Taurus make excellent chefs and their waistlines may prove it. Taureans also have a keen business sense with the ability to make profits. Throwing extravagant dinner parties is a favorite indulgence for Taurus while also entertaining friends. The steadfast bull knows that the richness of flavor lies deep within the fruit, and an abundant garden they will cultivate.

A second step in the Taurean’s path is the feeling of security that it demands from career, home and marriage. The bull does not like to be called “greedy”, however it honors the creature comforts of life in order to build its foundation. With determination and mindfulness Taurus makes a loyal partner who respects the needs of his mate; however, there may be intermittent sparks of jealousy as the bull is a possessive creature.

Anything that shakes the tranquility of Taurus is a threat to its security. It will use the senses of smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing to gain its inner calm and balance. Taurus also creates a beautiful connection between the material world and the spiritual world. It naturally blends the ambience of the earth with the stars in the heaven.

Therefore, as the “Spiritual Gardener,” north node in Taurus exemplifies the self-worth of the soul. With patience and practicality, Taurus builds a stable earthly home, whereby serenity, peace and love reside. It gathers all the contentment that the universe offers him. Taurus is destined to live among the blessings of the blue spirit waters, which quenches the thirst of its lush green garden.

Getting to Node You: Astrology's Hidden Grip in Relationships
http://www.astrologywithdonnalyn.com/articles/tyl_nodes.html
By Noel Tyl

When two people get together, two horoscopes meet. One person's needs and behavioral resources interact with
another person's needs and behaviors. Specifically, one person's idealism, say (the conjunction of Mercury and Venus,
or Mercury strongly focused in Pisces), may be beautifully trine the other person's Moon in Cancer, the reigning need
for emotional and family security. That would be a 'comfortable' blend, a harmonious bond, through the trine aspect that
links similar 'colors' of being (within the same element family).

One person's Saturn - the awareness of strategy, control, and ambition - may oppose or square another person's Mars
- energy and drive - suggesting a fight for leadership, a struggle for dominance; conservatism and caution in one
person working to subdue spontaneity and volatility in the other. Who makes the decisions? Resolution of anything is
difficult.

When one person's Sun or Moon makes any aspect with the Sun or Moon in someone else's horoscope, it is a highly
reliable indication of harmony. The two find it easy to be together. Marriage is an extreme development out of this basic
harmony, of course, but togetherness must begin somewhere and Sun-Moon ties are very natural, easily taken for
granted, and always strongly appreciated. Doing business with someone with whom you make such contact is always the
best business deal you can make.

Just as you would think, when your Mars and someone else's Venus, or your Venus and someone else's Mars whistle to
each other through aspect relationships, the tune is not just 'Dixie', it's visceral awareness - if age and sociology support
potential - and if Pluto is in the mix, the waters run deep and powerfully, and everything else can be put aside for the
moment, or a lifetime!

Uranus contacts are intense excitement at best and nervous agitation at worst, and the manifestation of the tie depends
upon which planet, say, in your chart is getting the 'charge' from the other person's Uranus. It's like a 'jump start' from
someone else's battery to yours.

Neptune contacts are misty, cloudy, and perhaps even untrustworthy, so doing business with someone whose Neptune
is on your Sun or Midheaven or Mercury presents a long list of cautions!

Jupiter is an uplifting bond between horoscopes, a broad accent of enthusiasm one to another, for one another.

When George Bush was heading down the home stretch to election late in 1988, he announced his choice for Vice
President: James Danforth Quayle. The nation asked aloud, "Who is this guy Quayle? Where's he coming from?" Many
would say that that question was never answered throughout the Bush presidency. Boyish-appearing Quayle was
somehow not congruent with Bush's image of experience, poise, and know-how.

The real question should not have been not 'Who's Quayle?' but 'What brings Quayle together with Bush'? That's the
question astrology can answer very easily. Would you believe there are 8 different ties between Quayle's horoscope
(born February 4, 1947, at 04:30 PM, CST in Indianapolis, IN) and Bush's (June 12, 1924, 11:38 AM, EDT in Milton,
MA)?

Bush's Moon in Libra is close trine with Quayle's Sun in Aquarius. This is a beautiful, comfortable, no-waves-at-all
relationship between the cores of their horoscopes. They genuinely like each other. Bush's Neptune squares Quayle's
Sun: Quayle will blindly follow with all of Bush's ideas, and Bush will overlook any shortcomings on Quayle's part.

As the synastric profile builds, we begin to see that the relationship founded by Moon-Sun contact supports trade offs at
less imposingly fundamental levels of life. That's the way it is getting together with someone else: we like someone
fundamentally, and this good feeling colors all other measurements of compatibility and resource exchange. In this case,
this was achieved by the nebulous, vague, and gossamer Neptune between them.

Bush's Saturn opposed Quayle's Midheaven. This means that the President's ambition and achievement gave Quayle's
entire career strong direction. Bush's Mars is square Quayle's Jupiter: a great bond of energy, enthusiasm, and a "we
can stand it alone, partner" kind of specialness between them.

Among the other ties between their horoscopes, there was a very, very telling one: the link between Bush's Lunar Nodal
Axis at 26 Leo-Aquarius ('Getting to Node You', indeed!) trine Quayle's Midheaven and conjunct/opposed his Mercury -
how he needs to think - AND Quayle's Nodal Axis (8 Gemini) squares Bush's Ascendant exactly, and both those
measurements tie in with the United States' Ascendant at 7 Gemini!

THIS is a powerful cluster of ties, for sure. Whenever there is a tight relationship, usually conjunction/opposition or
square between one person's Lunar Nodal Axis and another person's planet, Ascendant, or Midheaven, there is a
dimension to the relationship tie that goes very, very deep. The relationship can even be strange, as we will see in some
other cases. The relationship can drain someone's resources, even possess someone; and here, there certainly is clear
memory of how the 'Quayle issue' drained off much stature, energy, time, and verbiage from the Bush camp.

The Lunar Nodal Axis

The Lunar Nodal Axis is defined by two points where the Moon's path in orbit around the Earth intersects the plane of
orbit of the Earth around the Sun. These points are symbolically a synthesis of the Sun's apparent motion and the
Moon's actual motion, tying together Sun and Moon symbolism, accentuating relationship, leader and follower, male and
female, light and reflection. These dichotomies are certainly the concepts that are extolled in successful relationships of
any kind, verging on the poetical when love is involved.
When the Nodal Axis in one person's horoscope is configured with a planet or angular point in another person's
horoscope, the tie is very, very strong, especially in terms of the planet or personal point (Ascendant or Midheaven)
configured. When the Sun or Moon is involved, there seems to be a core recognition, a sense of belonging to one
another, if you will. Even under the worst of circumstances, the relationship bond is hard to break. When Mercury is
involved, the relationship bond is powerfully focused in the mind, in the thinking process, in communication. This
Mercurial dimension is the bond between Bush and Quayle.

With Venus, romanticism; with Mars, aggression or defensiveness, and strong sexuality; with Jupiter, enthusiasm,
understanding; with Saturn, control, manipulation; Uranus, intense, electrifying magnetism; with Neptune, deception,
mistrust, or fantasy and aesthetics; with Pluto, empowerment. The Midheaven involvement links one person to the other
in terms of career, even personal destiny; with the Ascendant, how one is presented to the world.

When the Nodal Axis sets up such a bond between two people - or two nations, as we will see later - can we say that
such a bond was bound to happen? That it may come close to being destined? I think so. Nodal contacts carry
something primal and inscrutable with them. They are definitely astrology's hidden grip in relationships.

Let's look at one of history's most famous improbable relationships: Adolph Hitler, born April 20, 1889 at 6:30 PM in
Baruau, Austria and Eva Braun, born February 6, 1912 at perhaps 3:25 AM, MET in Munich, Germany. Hitler was
Chancellor of Germany, Der Fuehrer (The Leader); Braun was an uneducated and, some say, a distant cousin of Hitler,
23 years his junior. They were tied together from remote levels of the social spectrum, in strange ways, and finally
married the day before committing suicide together deep underground in a besieged Berlin bunker, (April 29, 1945).
Eva Braun's Nodal Axis at 25 Aries-Libra was exactly conjunct Hitler's Mercury at 25 Aries, which was positioned in
conjunction with his horizon axis, on the cusp of his 7th House, the house of relationships and marriage!

My goodness, what a bond! Additionally, Braun's Sun in Aquarius was square Hitler's exact Venus-Mars conjunction in
Taurus, and many psychohistorical analysts have ascribed deep sexual problems to Hitler, and here we see Braun's
involvement with them. Hitler's Saturn, square to his Venus-Mars conjunction, opposed Braun's Sun: they seem tied in a
sado-masochistic drama. Her Uranus - the electric shock - was square to Hitler's Sun, exactly. And even further, we can
see Braun's Venus conjunct Hitler's Moon and Jupiter, a tie of beauty and appreciation; her Mars conjunct his Pluto, a
tie to his power. This pair came together in ways and purposes we simply can not understand. The bond was
overwhelmingly, inexorably confirmed by the nodal contact with Hitler's mind, his Mercury.

Who captured whom, in this case? Did the nodal opening in Braun's psyche invite leadership from Hitler's mind?
Astrology cannot say for sure, but very often it is in this direction, i.e., toward the nodal part of the relationship that the
influence flows. Were they brought together purposefully though inscrutably from their extraneous orbits by the fateful
crossings of some unknown psychological astronomy? I think we can be sure about that. Was their case exceptional?
Here we can say no! Nodal contacts are fulfilled frequently; not necessarily blazingly on the pages of history or in suicide
pacts halfway to some netherworld, but in everyday life, in relationships in public business and private bond, when
obsession or inscrutability or essentialness marks the tie.

A fascinating example of the touch of fate, if you will, is in the coming together of Sirhan Sirhan (March 19, 1944) and
Robert Kennedy (November 20, 1925), on Kennedy's death day June 6, 1968. The assassin's Nodal Axis was at 5
Leo-Aquarius exactly square the candidate's strident and critical Mars in Scorpio! Here, however, it is hard to say that
Kennedy's aggressive political nature (Mars) flowed into Sirhan's being (through the nodal opening, if you will), when it
was Sirhan who pulled the trigger. But we could say that it was Kennedy's aggressive politics that did flow into Sirhan's
awareness, obsessingly, before the assassination; indeed, the politics conditioned and framed Kennedy as target for
Sirhan's anger with the world.

Another example is the tremendous bond chronicled between actor Spencer Tracy (April 5, 1900) and Katherine
Hepburn (November 8, 1909), an unrequited love that became historic in its fervor, importance, endurance, and
frustration: would you believe that Tracy's Jupiter at 10 Sagittarius was conjunct Hepburn's Nodal Axis at 8
Gemini-Sagittarius. This is the same bond (Jupiter-Node) that Benito Mussolini (July 29, 1883) had with Hitler, bringing
him together with the German leader in whole-hearted admiration and endorsement, in political and philosophical
emulation!

Dean Martin's (June 17, 1917) Nodal Axis at 11 Capricorn-Cancer was not only square Jerry Lewis's Mercury (March 16,
1926) but also conjunct his Pluto as well at 12 Cancer! This was a powerful bond indeed, and the square aspect (90
degrees) added tension to the bond for sure.

Richard Rodgers (June 28, 1902), the Broadway musical composer, had his Lunar Nodal Axis at 1 Scorpio tightly
conjunct (receiving) lyricist Oscar Hammerstein's Saturn at 0 Scorpio (July 12, 1895). This tells us for sure that, in their
collaboration, the words came first before the music ! Additionally, Hammerstein's Nodal Axis at 15 Pisces-Virgo was
square to Rodger's Mars at 14 Gemini! Again, quite a creatively tense and powerful bond - with one nodal contact
balancing the other, i.e., Saturn and Mars - that helped this team create the historic musicals: Oklahoma, Carousel,
South Pacific, and The King and I.

A lovely example is seen between Princess Grace (November 12, 1929) and Prince Rainier of Monaco (October 31,
1923). This was the fairy-tale love bond, wasn't it: European prince and Philadelphia beauty off in their private kingdom?
This was love felt and espied across a crowded room, this was 'getting to node you' in classic romantic fashion: Princess
Grace had her Nodal Axis in 11 Taurus-Scorpio 34 precisely conjunct Prince Rainier's Venus and Jupiter [BOTH] at 11
Taurus 34 and 11 Scorpio 02, respectively! Additionally, her Jupiter at 14 Gemini was square his Nodal Axis at 16
Virgo-Pisces!

John F. Kennedy (May 29, 1917) had his Nodal Axis at 12 Capricorn-Cancer and Jackie (July 28, 1929) had her Uranus
at 11 Aries, square his axis. THAT's electricity, magnetism, and the bond that kept the two together through so much
philandering.

Bill Clinton (August 19, 1946) has his Sun at 26 Leo, mighty proud and powerful, and Hillary (October 26, 1947) has her
Nodal Axis at 24 Taurus-Scorpio, tightly square his Sun. That's his hook up to the synthesis of her strengths as well as
the bond of tolerance for her in the midst of the stress from all his mis-adventures. We could surmise that his
charismatic way to success 'fronts' for her deepest professional dreams for herself! Interestingly, Clinton's Nodal Axis is
conjunct Saddam Hussein's Nodal Axis. We don't know what that means in astrology - when there is the conjoining of
Nodal Axes - but it is something to watch.

We can appreciate that one person's network of nodal contacts will also be involved with the other person's nodal
contacts because of the conjunction of the axes.

The Effect Between Nations

Besides the fact that the central three letters of Jerusalem are 'USA', there is another bond, a hidden astrological grip,
between Israel's destiny and the United States' place in the sun, its fulfillment of its Cancer-Aquarian birthright as
humanitarian caretaker to the world: Israel's Nodal Axis at 13 Taurus-Scorpio is square to the United States Midheaven,
a most exultantly sensitive point at 13 Aquarius. There is tension there (the square), and the United States must take a
lot of flak about its relationship with Israel - its veritable sponsorship of Israel - but as our Aquarian Moon and Midheaven
say, that's who we are as a nation. There are dramatic planetary points of synastry as well, but this nodal bond is the
tone-setter of the relationship, which, of course, is played out in international politics every day, as Israel's concerns are
so extremely close to our nation's international activities.

Then we can note that Israel's node is square Iraq's Mars (recall Sirhan Sirhan and Robert Kennedy), an aspect of
coming together fatefully antagonizingly, belligerently, aggressively, with Iraq initiating the onslaughts. And then further,
would you believe that Kuwait's node is at 29 Leo, precisely conjunct Iraq's Sun! The two nations are blood enemies,
with Iraq claiming Kuwait as its 'province', a part of Iraq (a part of its Sun) not recognizing Kuwait's sovereignty.

Israel and Egypt were certainly blood enemies for a long, long time. Their ties of hate are clouded in the pre-historical
saga of Abraham and the dilemma of which 'first born son' was favored of God - Israel, namesake-son of Isaac (Jacob
renamed), grandson of Abraham, or Ishmael, also Abraham's son, key to Arab lineage [see Genesis 32:28; 16:12; 12:7;
26:3; 28:13]. Their contact astrologically says it all: the Egyptian Republic's node (June 18, 1953) at 5 Aquarius 51 is
conjunct/opposed Israel's Moon at 4 Leo! It is as if they come from the same family but can not get it together. In the
Egyptian kingdom horoscope founded on its independence from Britain (February 28, 1922), the earlier horoscope for
Egypt, we see the Egyptian Neptune square the Israeli State's node at 13 Taurus, which came into being in 1948, i.e.,
mistrust, deception, strange animosity.

The Confederate States of America came into being on February 4, 1861 in Montgomery, Alabama (a delegate
assembly from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina). The six states had declared
independence from the USA. While five more were to come: Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina,
this convention on February 4 marked the formal beginning of the Provisional Congress of the Confederate States of
America. Would you believe that the Confederate Pluto - the planet of empowerment, disruption, explosion,
metamorphosis - at 7 Taurus was exactly square the United States of America node at 7 Leo?! This fateful, divisive,
power-struggle bond placed brother against brother in our country's bloodiest conflict.

Another interesting national split is in the astrology between North and South Vietnam. The Vietnam states - the North a
Democratic Republic and the South pro-French - were both created by the Geneva Accord on July 21 in 1954 (at 2:45
AM GMT). This would give the same chart to each state, except for one-degree difference at the Ascendant for the
distance between the two capitals, Hanoi and Saigon.

But the French held on to South Vietnam, and true independence did not come to the South until 5:00 AM GMT on
October 26 1955 in Saigon. This horoscope for South Vietnam has Mercury at 14 Libra, exactly square to the Nodal Axis
of North Vietnam in the Geneva Accord horoscope. With this evidence, it is clear that each state is of the same
beginning but of unalterably different philosophical pursuit.

Finally, the United States node at 7 Leo was exactly conjunct the former USSR Neptune (mistrust); is conjunct El
Salvador's Moon (support) and Nicaragua's Mars (aggression, conflict); the Philippine's Mercury (meeting of the minds;
a U.S. territory); the Pluto of Syria and the Pluto of Lebanon (power struggle); and the Cuban Mars (aggression, conflict).

The United States controlled the first Nuclear Reaction on December 2, 1942 at 3:25 PM, CWT in Chicago. In this
horoscope for the beginning of the Atomic Age, Pluto, the symbol of atomic power, was at 7 Leo, exactly conjunct the
United States' Nodal Axis!

Who Relates to Your Node?

One of the questions most asked in social gatherings is designed to seek out one's birthday. Why do people do this,
even people without any astrological knowledge at all? Even people who debunk astrology ask! Everyone knows that
birthdates are important dates to remember and celebrate. We ingratiate ourselves with others by giving recognition to
birthdays. If there is one song every person knows, it is not the national anthem; it's Happy Birthday! I think we feel we
get closer to someone by remarking on one's birthday. NOT knowing astrology, we exhibit some primal awareness that
the day one was born was special, and therefore the person is given special attention in the moment of conversation, is
allowed to talk about him or herself freely, can tell stories, i.e., shares personal data. This brings people closer together.
Knowing astrology, of course, even just the simple fact that the birthday is a reference to where the Sun is on the day of
birth, makes the conversation ever so much more meaningful and entertaining.

The primal significance of the question takes on sophisticated ramifications and potential. In our personal life and
business affairs, we seek kindred spirits, people who will feel like 'family' and cooperate with us. Every one of us,
sometime in life, has searched for the 'soul mate', the significant other who is presumably destined to be our fulfillment,
as night is fulfilled by day (an interesting reference to the symbolic significance of the nodes, dealing with the Moon and
Sun!).

Every one of us has had strong personal ties to people with whom we are not involved romantically, but with whom we
deal professionally, successfully - or, indeed, not successfully, but compulsively. We hear stories all the time of people
in relationships of many different kinds who stay in those relationships against all odds, under all kinds of stress, for no
apparent reason. In these cases, very, very often the Nodal Axis contact between the horoscopes involved is at work. It
is astrology's hidden grip within relationships.

One of the most welcome nodal contacts is usually between your Nodal Axis and someone else's Sun, and you can
determine this so easily, without computers and extensive calculations. Let's use our head: First of all, you need to know
your node position (or anyone else's) right out of the Ephemeris; no corrections are necessary since the node moves so
slowly (backwards about 3', 1/20th of a degree per day). The 'South Node' is directly opposite, the exact same number
but in the opposite Sign, and is not listed.

As we have seen, the North and South Nodes create the axis across the apparent path of the Sun where the Moon
crosses in its orbit around the Earth. For our discussion here, there is no difference to be made between north and
south.

Note the node position (degree axis) listed in the Ephemeris or shown in the horoscope. If the node position is listed as
5 Capricorn, that's your node position, but it includes 5 Cancer as well, the exact same position in Capricorn's opposite
Sign.

Your Nodal Axis is 5 Capricorn-Cancer. You know the Signs with their opposites are Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio,
Gemini-Sagittarius, Cancer-Capricorn, Leo-Aquarius, and Virgo-Pisces.

When you know your natal node position, you can do a simple mental calculation to find out the birthday someone must
have to put their Sun on your node, setting up the makings of an extraordinary bond: we can generalize that the Sun
travels about one degree every day, i.e., on January 1, the Sun is at 10 Capricorn and on January 2 it is at 11
Capricorn, on the 3rd at 12 Capricorn, etc. Or on June 1, the Sun is at 10 Gemini, on June 11th, 21 Gemini, on the 12th,
22 Gemini, etc.

After thirty degrees are used up, of course, the Sun enters the next successive Sign in the zodiac, and we know that the
sign-changes take place around the 21st of every month.
For example: on May 1, the Sun is at 10 or 11 Taurus, and on the 20th it is at 29 Taurus. On the 21st, it enters Gemini,
i.e., 0 Gemini; on the 22nd it is in 1 Gemini; and then, on June 1st, 9 days later after the 22nd, 10 days after the sign
change, the Sun comes to 10 Gemini.

In short, we know that on the first of every month the Sun will always be at 10-11 degrees of its Sign for the months
January through June, and on the first of every month for the months July through December, the Sun will always be at
8-9 degrees of its Sign. "When's your birthday?" "August 7th!" On August 1, the Sun will have been at 8 or 9 Leo.
August 7 then equates to 15-16 Leo (8-9 for the 1st of August plus 7). If your Lunar Nodal Axis is marked by the position
15 or 16 Leo (or 5-16 Aquarius, the opposite sign), there's a match: that person's Sun, born on August 7 is conjunct
your Nodal Axis and, all things considered, you might want to plan a trip to Hawaii together, quickly!

And you can go further mentally, easily: you know that each of the three modes in astrology (Cardinal, Fixed, and
Mutable) has four signs comprised of opposition-axes square (90 degrees) to each other. For example: The Fixed family
has in it the signs Leo and its opposite Aquarius, Taurus and its opposite Scorpio. If you're dealing with a birthdate of
August 7, the above example, with the Sun at 15-16 Leo, you know immediately that the birthdays of February 6
(Aquarius), and April 6 (Taurus), and November 7 (Scorpio) will all be involved with 'noding you'! You will have a strong
nodal relationship with the people born on those days or, indeed, one day either side of the calculated date!

And even further: a quick look at the Ephemeris reveals the positions of all his or her planets and shows instantly which
planets relate tightly to your Nodal Axis!

This is powerful information for business and personal relationships. Let me use my own Nodal Axis as a closing
illustration: my node is at 23 Sagittarius (born December 31, 1936). Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, President and Publisher
of Llewellyn Publications, and I have known each other for 22 years. Llewellyn has published all 20 of my books, some
10 anthologies in the New Age series which I edited, and the acclaimed and well remembered Astrology Now magazine
which I founded and edited for many years in the 1970s that's probably almost 2.5 million words of mine published by
Llewellyn. Llewellyn has been the foundation of my entire career in astrology.

Carl Weschcke has often, privately and publicly, referred to our bond in a previous life, that I was 'his brother'. In short,
Carl and I are very close to each other professionally; we respect and admire each other considerably. Carl Weshcke's
Midheaven, the high, sharply focused, career, professional point in his horoscope is 23 Sagittarius. My node is precisely
conjunct his Midheaven axis, a tremendous bond, a grand relationship graciously created by time.

Noel Tyl [pronounced no-el' til] is one of the foremost astrologers in the world. His thirty textbooks have led the teaching
of astrologers for two generations. Tyl is a graduate of Harvard University in Social Relations (Psychology, Sociology,
and Anthropology). He lectures constantly throughout 16 countries and maintains a client list of individuals and
corporations throughout the world. In May, 1998, Tyl was honored at the United Astrology Congress, the world
convention for astrology, as the recipient of the Regulus Award for establishing and maintaining professional image in
the field.

I posted a relationship chart I was having trouble interpreting in a myspace forum and the problem had to do with a stellium in scorpio....part of this stellium was the moons mean node...and someone responded with the below response to what he noticed about the relationship charts node being direct....can anyone further elaborate or help me understand this....It sort of makes me a little nervous being this relationship feels completely fated but this is making me feel like it will be utterly disasterous.

Quote from: http://www.astrologycom.com/nodes.html

The motion of the Moon’s Mean Node is retrograde through the zodiac at the rate of roughly one degree every 19 days (compare the 19 year cycle of lunation). I should clarify here that the Moon’s Mean Node is always retrograde, but the True Node oscillates according to the Moon’s "wobble". This is caused by the gravitational effects of the Earth/Moon interaction, so the True Node sometimes has periods of direct motion. These periods of direct motion are considered unfortunate, as they go against the "natural motion" of the nodes. The Mean Node averages this "wobble" out, so giving a clearer picture.

I have experienced my share of unfortunate times when the TrueNode was in direct motion.. Just something to consider here since you mention you are having difficulty interpreting the Scorpio Stellium.

The first step towards easing the difficult would be to learn more about direct motion of the nodes as TrueNode in direct motion is in 3* Scorpio here.

I've been investigating this and today, I found evidence that this may represent a recent Gender switch from the most recent past life. Or perhaps from a series of past lives. Here's what I found:

(what do you think?)

---------------------------
“The nodal axis SQUARE the MC represents a structure that is no longer secure or “absolute” and is in a mutational state. (a moving through, letting go, dissolving and restructuring).

“The nodal axis squaring the MC (and therefore IC) will bring into question the movement – or the conflict of moving through - gender switching. Gender identity/assignment and integration is a primary theme for resolution.

“The past, or what has been previously established, interferes with, inhibits, slows down, denies, controls the free flow, natural expression and accessing of the present to a significant and notable degree.

“Issues of security, safety and self autonomy/self regulation are primary challenges. The question becomes how to let go of a previously identified sense of selfhood while building up a new one.

“Nodes squaring the MC/IC: Crisis is consciousness, crisis in action, fear of entrapment yet a desire to belong, loss of security, structure and form, fear of neediness, fear of dependency, anxiety for freedom yet fear of it (fear of paying too high a price), fear of “death”, fear of “life”, sense of urgency to get on with the business at hand, urgency to accelerate into “fast forward”.

“With the MC we have an emotional paradox between natural instincts and conditioned instincts/responses - what we naturally feel or are inclined toward, as opposed to how we have learned to package ourselves in order to meet the perceived requirements – all set up through our judgments and value associations – based on (past life time and current life) experience. There is a inherent conflict between the need to leave the past behind, to break free and create anew, while at the same time a great insecurity to hold on to what has been developed, achieved, recognized, accumulated, or strived for – a great anxiety for a sense of belonging and continuity within an established body – whether it be a physical form (self as in the physical body and the consciousness of that physical body) or an environmental form (parental, societal, era).

“Nodes squaring the MC/IC – An anxiety to recreate the past (to get back to “form” which equals a definition, which equals a perception, which equals a reality) and yet at the same time a fear of recreating the past, because of the instinctual need to be creating and experiencing “new life” (our ultimate reason for being – to be in a constant state of growth or emergence).

“Nodes squaring the MC/IC = traveling with the brakes on…

“The Midheaven says that IN THIS LIFE, something that must be mastered before moving on to the next step. The nodal axis squaring MC represents a requirement to integrate a sense of being – developing a self definition or a workable structural format that can house an emerging new form - a new identity and new way of relating to self and other.

“Nodes square MC/IC represents the challenge of how to build upon an already established foundation with or without complete destruction, devastation and chaos (depending on the degree of resistance to moving forward through past lifetimes and the current life), but taking what is useful, purposeful, integral and pertinent and developing it further.

“MC squaring the nodal axis represents conditioning factors (parent & societal influences of the present and past lifetimes issues) that have shaped a sense of personal identity and external relatedness. This sense of personal identity and external relatedness that has set up a way of being that implies limitation, restriction, and the outworn/outdated. This way of being in turn interferes/inhibits a free and un-encumbered self expression – both regarding self to self and self to other.” (The above written by Rose on Astrolink)

Bit rusty on my Astrology and would appreciate any help I can get on this question :)
I came across a tricky Synastry example:
A's North Node in Libra, South Node in Aries is the Exact same degree as B's Noth Node Node in Libra, South Node in Aries BUT
A's NN is in the 4th House while B's NN is in the 10th house! Does the reverse house positioning of the NNs mean the compatability inherent within the North Node signs will actually lead to conflict?

Im an avid google user, but I didn't find any information about venus quincunx north node.
This aspect is found in my natal chart and Im very interested to learn more about it's meaning.
Mainreason for this is, that my venus is placed in 12th house (leo), whereas north node in 7th house pisces.
I've heard that having NN in your 7th means that you are too independent and need to get away from yourself.
Quite true, in my case...And also, that trying to be alone in this lifetime has to do with the past, but in this lifetime trying to be around people is what I would need the most and etc.

So because of these two placements and they'r aspect to eachother, I would be very happy if someone could tell me the meaning of this aspect. :) Thank you!

I'm really interested in this one. It's easy for me to understand natal planets conjucnt the south node. I can see that as those planetary functions being directly connected to one's karmic past.

But planets on the northnode are a bit more difficult for me to comprehend.
Here's what I can think of so far. Planets on the north node imply that that planet's function is directly related to one's developing self identity. I imagine that as one discovers that planet, one will be fulfilling a much larger self discovery.

I'll use an example. Normal Jupiter to me points out a place in ones self where expansion and increased awareness is always possible. Typically Jupiter may express first as dogmatic naivete or ungrounded exageration, evolving into a very holistic intuitive awareness. If Juptier is on the north node, the development of the Juptier function will have a deep resonance with one's destiny.

However I can't seem to get beyond that- what are the karmic implications of such a signature? Will there be mre or less resistance to discovering Jupiter? Most sites say that a planet on the north node implies a familiarity and "easy access" to that function. So what you your lovely thoughts on the matter?

Cross-posted to the Astrology tribe: I have been enjoying reading Caroline Casey's Making the Gods Work for You. There have been some really stimulating concepts and correlations that I hadn't made on my own. There was one thing that came up in my reading last night that I would like a deeper perspective on.
Casey writes that the north node "represents one's lifework and the direction in which growth lies. The south node, directly opposite, is what we push off from into the direction of growth. The strategic model is that if we concentrate on the north node area of life, the south node area will function just fine. If we concentrate on the south node area we will feel as if we are drowning."
My north node is conjunct my ascendant. Because my ascendant is 2.5º Libra, all of my houses are opposite of their natural homes in an equal house system. Here is my chart, for those interested: http://astro.cafeastrology.com/cgi-bin/astro/natal?member=&recalc=&name=Helena&sex=f&d1day=21&d1month=4&d1year=1978&d1hour=16&d1min=26&citylist=Santa+Rosa%2C+CA+%286%29%2C+United+States&lang=en
Casey continues, " If you have the north node in the first house, or in Aries, your life assignment is to focus on your unique identity. Your south node will be in the opposite sign of Libra, or the seventh house, which is partnership. If you attempt to gain your identity from partnership, you will feel as if you are drowning.
"If you are the reverse, with your north node in the seventh house of partnership, or in Libra, your focus in life will be to be partnered. The south node in the first house, or Aries, says you have completed lonerdom. If you try to be fundamentally alone, you will feel as if you are drowning."
So, which is it? Where does my focus lie? There is obviously the emphasis on balance in the heavy Libra influence in my chart, but if I am to look towards my north node, I am looking towards Libra AND the first house. I have my thoughts on what this means, but I would like to hear a few other opinions, too.
For the record, just shy of thirty, I have essentially had two truly meaningful relationships. One was deep, traumatic and very short-lived (moon conjunct Pluto in Libra...), the other was a nice, gentle relationship that lasted a year and completely lacked grand passion from either side. I consider myself to be a lone star (not really ever lonely in my own company- I get along great with mySelf!), but would very much like to have a partner, too.
I searched this tribe and didn't find anything that specifically addressed this configuration. Thanks for any input you might have.

Hi,
first of all thanks for putting up this potluck of enlightening information regarding the celestial brothers and sisters...
my question concerns a few and detailesque issues I have spotted that have not yet been mentioned here, as far as I can tell:

Quintiles and other "minor" aspects:
should these be taken into account with the Nodes, when in connection with Planets?

Asteroids (incl. Lilith) and other points such as the Vertex/PoF:
when in close major aspects to the Nodes - worth considering?
what are your experiences with this stuff?

btw I do find that e.g. Neptune conjunct North Node even works with a pretty vast aspect orb of 7 degrees (be gentle, I know that sounds far out....)

this whole casting of rays business... could it be a bit dated view?

thanks for your consideration!
Pluto is transiting my wife's North Node - back and forth a few more times until 2010 in the beginning of Sagittarius in her fourth. It is directly opposing Saturn which stands to a degree to North Node. Apparently there is a lot of karmic changes these days in issues that are a "second hand" on the same karmic task - Saturn in Gemini says again a task of adaptation and communication. She is undergoing several unorthodox healing therapies - acupuncture and family modelling (Hellinger), and we are fighting some heavy depression.
The same Pluto is retrograde on her Virgo Ascendant. (I use sidereal astrology.)
Anyone could come up with some useful ideas? Retrograde Pluto is also affecting Leo I understand, where South Node and Saturn meets this October.
