I have art to show... it's Moontribe's 15th... but I don't have a car! And I've got a demanding day job!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ridesharing/carpooling = $$$ in your pocket!

As we all know, gasoline prices are harsh which is why it's a good idea for everyone to carpool with friends and/or ride share with someone you have yet to meet who is in need of a ride and is willing to pitch in.

There are many people in our community who are in need of a ride just as there are many people with extra space in their vehicle.

Come together.

Conversation on Love

Recently I was Blessed by one of the most beautiful conversations i have ever had, and I felt it needed to be continued. Here are my thoughts on it.

Love is truth, Love is God, Love is the most beautiful and most raw feeling we could ever have as humans. So here we are the essences of the vision our fathers and mothers had for us, cultivating the one Love. Living in Love, creating happiness as often as we can. We have learned to Love our friends, our community, our music, ourselves, we have made so many changes to be in the path of enlightenment. Still with all that evolution some how we have neglected our ability to Love in the construct of personal relations. Why do we loose the feeling of the one Love when we are in Love with one? What is it that changes our thought processes when it comes to "Lovers"? We are able to love those we call friends unconditionally with out expectations, we allow those people to be themselves, have there faults. And without even a blink of an eye we accept because we Love them. But when in the structure of relationship those same faults, demons, and down falls challenge us to the core. Is it not the same Love? Have we let archaic relationship structures cloud our ability to Love one with one Love? We are embarking on a time of great change and we know deep in our hearts that those that love can be the answer. So now I think we have a challenge to redefine these old traditions with in relation, as we have redefined so many other structures we have been conditioned with. I am not in full support of polysexual relations (if thats what you like go for it) I am personally in support of monogamy with ties to sex. But I am curios about the truth behind polyamory, the ability of the human mind to love in multiples. I truly believe we can change the way we love within relation, as well as how we define relation. I believe this to be one of the more perplexing and challenging philosophical issues i have wrapped my mind around, and i really would love you to sit on this topic, please write any thoughts down. We will be Blessed to hear your thoughts.

see you on the 15th

Hi My Dearest Full Moon Family

Michael and I are beginning our wedding ritual with the Full Moon circle blessing on Thursday evening. Please join us as we set our intentions and celebrate our commitment. We would be MOST honored to have our Tribe rock out their tribal-ritual-costume-stylishness like only our community knows how! Please help us to make the elemental energies manifest with your creative self expression, and bring Spirit in your heart and the Dance in your soul!

If you feel inspired to share something with the ritual, there will be a ceremonial altar for tokens or flowers.

Both of us express our most joyful gratitude to you, our community, for sharing and participating in this special moment!

Future Full Moon Gatherings

I'd like to go to one sometime in the future. Maybe more if I enjoy them and it seems like I'll almost certainly will.
I've looked rather diligently in this tribe for how to go to one and I have not been able to find out how. I assume they're held on or around the full moon out in the desert somewhere. The music seems to be the kind that I will like to hear and dance to, especially considering that I've heard some of the DJ's play at other events and they were very good and played music I liked.
Could someone point me in the right direction or add me to a list or something?

Thank you,
KEVIN

Hi there folks... the FMG 15yr anniversary is quickly approaching, and I wanted to put the word out that I have 2 very good friends coming to town who need rides. They both have gas money, and would likely be willing to share the drive as well. They will be here on Tuesday the 17th, so if you are going, and would like another passenger (or 2) please hit me back here or email me (chadwick at moontribe dot org) so we can make arrangements.

See you in the desert!

Brad and dela are selling their records!

Hi everyone,
We're going to be moving to a new residence in a couple of months and we're trying to pare down our belongings.

I (dela) am going to sell ALL my old downtempo records -- they will be priced from $1 for most singles to $3 for double- and triple-packs.

Brad (who's got about 10 times as many records) is going to get rid of about half of them. They'll be priced from $2 on up.

If you are interested in coming by, listening, and taking first pick, let us know (we live in Pasadena).

Subject: Press Release - 5/6/08 - Google Censorship

PRG
Paradigm Research Group

May 6, 2008
Press Release
Google Censorship

Washington, DC - On April 30 PRG
published an Open Letter to Senator
Hillary Clinton regarding Laurance
Rockefeller's effort from March of 1993
through 1996 to convince her husband to
release all government held files
pertaining to UFOs and extraterrestrial
life. This letter was published to the
websites for PRG, American Chronicle,
OpEd News and the National Ledger. It
was also sent out to approximately 5000
television, radio, internet and print
media.

PRG web location for the Open Letter at:
www.paradigmresearchgroup.org/Open_Lette
r_Clinton-Hillary.htm

PRG watched carefully as the pages
holding this open letter moved quickly
up the search engine results at Google
and Yahoo based on these search
criteria:

open letter to Senator Hillary Clinton
open letter to Senator Clinton open
letter to Hillary Clinton

Within 36 hours the PRG and American
Chronicle Open Letter to Senator Hillary
Clinton were at or near the top of both
the Google and Yahoo search results.

At that time the Google search returns
for the Open Letter to Senator Hillary
Clinton published by PRG were stripped
(or blocked) from the Google search
results. Fortunately, this did not
take place with the Yahoo search
results.

Efforts by PRG to reach Google to
determine why this had happened have
been fruitless.

Blocking the Google search engine from
listing the web pages which contain the
PRG Open Letter to Senator Hillary
Clinton is a pure act of political
censorship.

Given Google's behavior as regards its
presence in the People's Republic of
China - compliance with severe content
restrictions - this act of censorship
raises deeply serious questions.

First and foremost it raises the
question of what other pages containing
political speech not acceptable to
Google are being blocked from Google
search listings within the United
States?

PRG is seeking pro bono legal assistance
from 1st Amendment specialist attorneys
in order to open a dialogue with Google
to resove this matter.

Hi everyone,

I will not be able to attend the 15 year celebration this year with you all. But I'm looking to coordinate volunteers; EMT/RN/MD to help out at Camp Renewal.

Please e-mail me directly:
Sarada-nurse
happysarada@yahoo.com

On a second note, everyone needs to be prepared for all conditions of weather and I reccomend that everyone have electrolyte drinks, benadryl tabs for bee stings, moleskin, bandaids and ace wraps that you all carry in your own kit that you bring, that would be a big help. Thank you!

the 10 year and 11year anniv. Waterfall spot on the Indian Reservation. My mind and its extended reaches through Google is failing me atm, and we've a small group of about 10 people looking for a nice place to go camping this weekend.

Currently we're thinking of the Kern County Sequoia's but maybe a trip to the waterfall would be nice, assuming they still offer group camping to small groups. Does that land have a website or phone number? do they still offer camping to small groups?

15 year ART display

Our 15th anniversary is rapidly approaching and I'm sending a shout out to all the visual artists in our community. Over the years of my being the Visual Arts Coordinator for Moontribe I've had the honor of working with some amazing artists but I know there are sooo many more that haven't had the chance yet to participate in enhancing our visual space with objects of beauty manifested through them.

I've tried to not inundate our gatherings with too much all at once but I feel that we should really go all out for this, our 15th anniversary. 15 YEARS! Quite the accomplishment, I'd say.

I feel this is an occasion to celebrate ALL the elements of our diverse culture but all I ask is that you, the visual artists, share your art work with everyone. I've had nothing but positive feedback over the years so rest assured, your participation will be greatly appreciated not only by me but by others as well.

I'm not going with a specific theme. Instead, lets have a cornucopia of inspirational, visionary, uplifting, and positive art display. One that celebrates our diversity and devotion.

Consider the following: how has the Moontribe experience inspired you, changed you, moved you?

As always, I am more than willing to assist each and every one of you, time permitting, in setting up at the beginning and breaking down at the end. Do you need help deciding what to bring out? Do you have concerns about wear and tear from the elements? Thinking of making something specifically for the gathering but not sure what would best fit the space? Do you need a display structure? Lighting? I'm here to help you with all these questions and anything else that may come up.

Let's brainstorm.

37th Annual Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes

July 1 to 7, 2008 in Wyoming
Silent Prayer/Meditation for World Peace
July 4 dawn until noon

The Rainbow Gathering is a totally free, non-commercial gathering of people. We invite all people to come camp with us in a magical mountain meadow in Wyoming, chop firewood, haul water, cook food and participate in workshops on non-violent direct action, yoga, alternative healing, and make music, create art and dance until your feet fall off.

Some say we're the largest non-organization of non-members in the world. We have no leaders, and no organization. To be honest, the Rainbow Family means different things to different people. I think it's safe to say we're into intentional community building, non-violence, and alternative lifestyles. We also believe that Peace and Love are a great thing, and there isn't enough of that in this world. We have a strong orientation to take care of the Earth.

Please join us in creating the world the way we want it to be. http://home.earthlink.net/~scrollinfo or www.welcomehome.org

Hello Music Producers

I'm sure that sometimes you are looking for "that new sound" or at least "a new sound" or something entertaining. Maybe your well of ideas is even running dry at the moment. Well, I've got something for you - it's a very useful sample.

Go to this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aVFMK3PvzI
And skip to 0:39

I humbly request that you use the first two words heard after 0:39 in a track - any track.
Moonvertising... Advertisers set their sights on the next full moon

I recently saw an advertisement for Rolling Rock beer. The billboard advises people to look at the next full moon for a revolutionary new way of gettin the message out called Moonvertising. See: Http://www.moonvertising.com

This concept, even if it is a joke (which seems highly unlikely) affects me personally on such a deep level that I cannot even begin to express my feelings on the matter. I felt the need to post this here to see what you all think. For me the moon is sacred and this marketing tactic is a travesty.

Hey ya'll -

As you may know, we took a budgetary hit on Thanksgiving Weekend due to a "conflict of interests" with some ATV'ers that were squatting on our rightfully-rented location. As a result, we're having to tighten the belt a little on extras that take the gatherings over-the-top. BUT, we would of course still like to be able to take it to the next level for the upcoming 15 year (!) anniversary. One of our extended family members has offered to create a shade-space visual atmospheric wonderland but needs some help with funding it. Since we don't have anywhere even close to what's needed in the coffers, we decided to put it to the community to see if we could generate some advanced donations to make it happen.

Our lovely Trisha is spearheading the collection, so if you have a few bucks to kick in for the project, either email her directly or private message me and I will send you her email address.

I was able to meet some of the DJ's in Moontribe yesterday and hear them play some good music at a benefit party. Good times for a good cause. Looking forward to seeing them tomorrow at the Green Sector 8th anniversary. David told me about the full moon gatherings. I'll check it out sometime soon, unfortunately not the 19th of this month as I won't be able to make it.

US and/or THEM

I couldn't help but notice the similar tone of some posts in a recent topic on this tribe and that of a topic in another tribe of a confusingly similar name. I understand the difference between the pronouns "us" and "them". I dont understand the determined effort by some to enforce the distinction within a conscious community built around the principles of unity and respect. Who determines who "we" are and if "our" words, pictures or public lands are accessable to "them"? It seems to me that the only reason to distinguish between "us" and "them" is to discriminate. And by discriminating, haven't "we", then, become "them"?

Please check your head on this...

Greetings All :)

I've been going to the various gatherings for a while now, but, just joined the tribe.net site.

I know we have a thing going on for the anniversary, and I am wondering if there is going to be something on the solistice proper?

The equinox had the two things happening, I was wondering if we could make that happen again? How can we help make that happen?

Love and Light :)

BM - Bubble Lounge Dome -35' Dia for Non-Profit Orgs

Heya,

A friend forwarded this to me...for ya edification:

Love - tron

===================

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/zip/601775824.html

Date: 2008-03-10, 12:41PM PDT

The building department has announced
that I must remove thisw dome from where
it is stored on my property in Venice
immediately. This dome, known as The
Bubble Lounge has been in Center Camp at
Burning Man Festival for four years. I
am willing to donate the dome (35 foot
diameter, 12 high at center) along with
the 40' steel tower to a non-profit
which can issue a legitimate tax
deduction for it. The dome can be
constructed around the 40 foot tower (as
seen in one picture) or with a tripod
holding up the center (second picture)
The tower can stand alone as the basis
for a sculpture. Comes with all hardware
and a fabric groundcloth for the
interior. It has a silver Tyvek skin
that reflect the heat of the day. This
needs to be moved by April 9th.

So, some time back, there was a post on the other moon tribe indicating that it was not the "official" MT tribe. But now, I see that it's still the clearly dominant tribe for party announcements and such.

Perhaps this tribe should become a little more "official" ... in the same way that the website is "offiical".

Oh, hey, speaking of which, I see the mixes up there, how about a regular podcast? As long as you're serving mp3's a podcast isn't too much of a leap and you could reach a wider audience. Might mean better sales on the next release...

IDM party promoters: The Flashbulb is coming to town

I guess I'm not hip to who's throwing IDM parties nowadays since most of the ELM crew has moved away...so I'm putting this out there to our general community. Ever heard of The Flashbulb? ( www.myspace.com/bennjordan ) I featured a couple of his mellow tracks in my mix called Start From Scratch, the set I played at the 14-year. A lot of his stuff gets quite a bit wilder and deeper into IDM territory and I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who might be interested in booking him.

Benn Jordan (aka The Flashbulb) will be coming out to LA the weekend of Jan. 19 to play at the NAMM show...since I'm a big fan of his I asked him if he was playing anywhere else in LA so I could catch his set (since I'm not a NAMM member I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a guest pass). He doesn't have any other gigs lined up at the moment but would love to play out somewhere if it's possible. So I'm posting this in hopes that someone with the power and inclination might want to check out his stuff and see if he might fit in your lineup.

Any takers? Or any suggestions of whom I might connect with for this?

Many thanks, family!

please oh pretty please do not throw your trashy butts on the ground.
please oh pretty pretty please throw all your trash into a trash holding device or into the fire.
the desert ground is not a trash holding device, nor is it likely to catch on fire any time soon.

(thanks Maggie and davidsjelly, for guiding my post over to the REAL moontribe site, silly me)....

hello...can i get a witness?

um, hello....that was freakin' beautiful! even tho' it was cold and the music was so loud it blew out some speakers....always so primal, sitting round the fire, dancing the vibes into the earth and out to the sky, watching the moon and sunrise in wonder, the round head of the drum under my hands, Connecting me....the round circle of friends holding hands in silent honor and delirious crushing whoopness---Connecting Me!

just wanted to say thanks! again for always being such an uplifting bunch of desert stomping freaks in my life....y'all are beautiful...and thanks to Mac for bringing out his funky jalopy as a shrine for dear departed brother Jack...after looking at all the pics and reading all the tributes, i really started to get sad, as i now remembered seeing that bro at all the gatherings, even tho' i didn't know him personally....he was quite a dude with a vision---- "The future will be clean and green!"....anybody know how to invent a green, electric car in his memory?

and tonight 11/27, $2 Tuesdays moves to the Zanzibar in Santa Monica! yippeee!

Hi Moontribe!

So, I just wanted to lend a tidbit to y'all to make all of our dirt road driving experiences more enjoyable. If you notice that a car has suddenly caught up to you, it means that they were previously traveling comfortably at a faster speed than you are. Some cars/drivers are more comfortable/experienced on dirt roads, and can travel at a faster pace safely. When you have a chance (when the road widens and doesn't have sandy banks) you could pull off a bit to the right to give the car behind you a chance to pass and resume their previous speed. To use the last gathering as an example, some drivers need to go slow and the road into (or out of) the property might take nearly an hour to traverse. Other drivers can comfortably do it in around 25 minutes. If you are a slower driver, the hour long trip behind you in your dust could be somewhat frustrating to a faster driver trapped behind you, and a 5 second pull over to the right could make all the difference to that person, especially when they have a few tired hours ahead of them on the drive home. And don't worry about getting caught in their dust by letting them pass because they will very quickly be so far ahead of you as to make that a non-issue. And certainly if you see a growing line of cars steadily piling up behind you, then please... pull over ASAP.

If you are in an SUV, we all know you can do the road fast and furious - but please try not to fish out your tires. You loosen the dirt for lower riding, less powerful cars, and make it more likely that folks will get stuck. Also, you create more dust.

And a tip: speed up on the washboard, don't slow down! Slowing down only makes the vibration worse, and is inevitably harder on your car. Driving faster over it makes you pass over the tops of the little ridges much more smoothly and comfortably.

Cheers!

When our people arrived at the private land we had rented for the weekend, they encountered hundreds of angry, violent ATVers. People almost got run over and someone's window got smashed. Therefore, we have decided to move the gathering to our other favorite location. New directions will be going out shortly.

We are EXTREMELY sorry for the inconvenience. PLEASE call your friends and make sure they know the gathering has been moved.

some free tunes for the homies, and a few issues to spark up

http://www.socaltribe.com/music/willy/

i hope nobody objects me posting this link for my mix. i have been going to moontribe for almost 11 years and i started spinning 6 years ago because of what i was hearing in the desert. moontribe inspired to the core, and i played last month so i feel i can post this.
but i am sure it will start up a conversation, just listen to it and go on with your life.

on a very important side note and i know it has been brought up before, but it is likely not everyone is on these boards/lists/email groups. so we need to inform our friends and fellow dancers of our ways and our wishes to better all of our experiences.

no parking on the dancefloor.
i am always one to say hello noce to seee you quick hug, but that is one thing, but to go on and on about your life, your job, your love affairs.
it is not that i dont care about those things because i do i do, but we spend our money, we make our efforts and each of us takes the moontribe experience differently. i need my audioland, and i need it bad, and it is so frustrating when i have to hug a speaker to hear instead of being in the vortex the sound pp so perfectly set up for our transcending.
i am not one to turn and say shut up but i almost did a few times but then i thought about what the recourse would be if i did and on and on.
we need to be polite, yet stern with people.
i met a guy who did not know about our latest dog policy and i with the utmost tactfulness informed this person the possible problems concerns with children loosing dogs etc and then i provided some rope for the dog because they did not have anything. it was resolved and both the dog and the owner were cool with it.
why do we say no dogs, yet there is always 5 dogs running freely and nobody says anything? well i did, and it was cool.
so everyone needs to tell these people with their dogs to put them on a leash, tie them up or better yet leave them home for the night.
and with the talking issue, we need to help each other and set the example of true audiolanders, would you go to a meditation class and sit and talk all loud about your daily life while people around you were trying to meditate?

so that is my input now talk about it all day while you listen to my mix.
seriously tell your friends who might not be online everyday about these issues, because we need to act, it is clear by this last weekend deal that we must unite and act. set the example and please shut up.

it is a good thing i was not there with the run in with the dirtbikers, not all of us are calm easy going turn the other cheek type mature law abiding citizens.
confederate flag says it all

Ok, so here's some info on viewing the International Space Station, as it will be passing over us at the gathering this weekend. Pretty cool that we get to see it. I know i'll be looking up. It's not always visible due to a number of factors like lighting, angles ect. While not necessary, perhaps the djs on the decks at these times could give us a heads up for it and play a serenade for them. I think Kepi will be on for Saturday and Alixrs' psytrance set is lined up for Sunday for the corresponding times(could be fun). Enjoy and I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor! Be well...
Love&Light,

Just curious to see if there are any desert warriors still out there ready to truly tackle the elements as winter approaches? Going to LA for indoor events is a bit much when you live on the northern end of the Mojave but if there are still some desert warriors out there, maybe some desert winter gatherings could happen.

Im searching for an appropriate image of Moontribe to go in my forthcoming book Technomad (see the details below)

The image i have in mind is the one on the top left over on the other moontribe at mt.tribe.net/ (its the human circle shot)

If you are the owner of this shot or know them, or know anything about it please contact me. It will be reproduced in B&W. I will need a 300 DPI version (or the highest res you have), and permission to use it. I will credit the photographer.

If you have any other ideas for high quality and representative images of Moontribe (must have 300 DPI and be able to give permission to use)

Thanks

Graham St John

Technomad: Global Raving Countercultures.

A cultural history of global electronic dance music countercultures forthcoming with Berghahn (2008), Technomad offers a broad yet detailed exposition of the pleasurable and activist trajectories of post-rave. The book documents the emergence of a network of techno-tribes, investigating their pleasure principles and cultural politics. Attending to sound system culture, electro-humanitarianism, secret sonic societies, teknivals and other gatherings of the techno-tribes, intentional parties, revitalisation movements and counter-colonial interventions, Technomad explores how the dance party has been harnessed for transgressive and progressive ends, for manifold freedoms. Seeking freedom from moral prohibitions and standards, pleasure in rebellion, refuge from sexual and gender prejudice, exile from oppression, rupturing aesthetic boundaries, re-enchanting the world, minimising harm, reclaiming space, fighting for "the right to party", and responding to a host of critical concerns, electronic dance music cultures are multivalent sites of resistance.

Drawing on extensive ethnographic, netogaphic and documentary research, Technomad details the post-rave trajectory through various local sites and global scenes, with each chapter attending to important developments in the techno counterculture: e.g. Spiral Tribe, teknivals, psytrance, Burning Man, Reclaim the Streets. Significantly, the book offers a nuanced theory of resistance to assist understanding of these developments. Written in an accessible style, this cultural history of hitherto uncharted territory will be of interest to students of cultural, performance, music, media, and new social movement studies, along with enthusiasts of dance culture and popular politics.

Two Sides of the Same Moon

I get the "Daily OM" delivered to my inbox every day (I highly recommend it!) and this came in this week..... http://www.dailyom.com/

Two Sides Of The Same Moon
Ritual Moon
The moon waxes and wanes in the night sky, always following the same cyclical pattern, lighting the darkness with its luminous glow. It has been this way as long as the earth has been here. The same moon grew from dark to full and back again, catching the eyes of our grandparents, our great grandparents, and those at the beginning of humanity. The moon guided our ancestors in the planting, sowing, and reaping of their crops, and we can be inspired to observe and honor these same cycles today with simple rituals that help connect us to the natural ebb and flow of life energy.

Dark moons and new moons represent polar moments of beginning and realization in the arc of the moon's phases. When the moon is dark, we might take time to meditate on emptiness, the fertile ground in which seeds take root. A simple ritual for acknowledging this potent phase of the moon would be to write down new plans and ideas that present themselves and keep them in a moon journal. Looking back over a year of dark moons, you may be amazed to see which seeds have blossomed. Full moons symbolize completion and fulfillment, the realization of the seed, and they are times of celebration. They are a great time to gather friends and family to partake in a communal feast acknowledging the apex of another monthly cycle. Your full moon journal might track the full moons of an entire year with a recounting of the gathering--the menu, the guest list, and any other observations you feel inspired to make.

Honoring the dark and full moons with these simple rituals brings our year into a new kind of focus. As we acknowledge the flow of the moon's cycles, we become more comfortable with the changing nature of our earthly lives, making our peace with each phase, and with the shifting from emptiness to fullness and back again. We strengthen our connection to the universe in which we live and find peace in both emptiness and fullness, each of which are natural and necessary--two sides of the same moon.

Not only are we lucky to have Antix and Bluetech perform for everyone, we are blessed to have Kiva and Manny from Greensector, and Dai from Psytribe join in on the fun, who are respectively some of our favorite djs in progressive psychedelic and Downtempo in the west coast. And a super surprise appearance from Trevor Wyse (Greensector), one of the main staples in the California psy scene over the past 10 years who will also share some of his Downtempo magic, not to mention one of our favorite’s Treavor from Moontribe . Also of course our resident dj’s Armando, Gabriel and Andrew (Earthbag) who just simply love to love to play their diverse progressive sounds for everyone.
New Zealand brothers Barton and Hayden Strom aka Antix have been producing a sublimely deep minimal groove that has been rocking dance floors accross the globe far and wide. Iboga Records in Denmark got whiff of the Antix sound and promptly signed the two brothers who then produced their landmark debut album “Lull” in 2003 and a couple years later created there second gem of an album “Twin Coast Discovery” both became landmarks on the progressive scene with top notch reviews and support from leading Dj's and fans alike.
Shortly after, Twin Coast Discovery was re-rubbed by a selection of the finest dance floor hooligans and the remix album contains seven remarkable re-edits from the likes of progressive wonder duo D-Nox and Frank Beckers (Vapour, Polaroid), Fitalic (Bedrock) and label mates Freq, Phony Orphants, Sun Control Species, Ohrsten Nors as well a bonus track by the brothers under their alter ego Fiord.
The brothers are aiming to raise the bar even higher this year, with another Antix studio album titled “Wanderers” due in June. The boys always evolving, have taken their sound to the next level, keeping to their Antix roots of deep atmospheres, infectious bass and minimal grooves but this time with a hint of old skool flavor and unleashing a new level of production.

Bluetech

A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production. Bluetech's love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenius producers today. Bluetech's sound emerges from his custom-built Reaktor instruments and software based synthesisers as a primordial electro-dub alchemy. While encompassing musical touches from different parts of the globe, he presents a total blend, crossing genres and borders.
Bluetech has created a label called Native State Records to release his own music and music from other artists who cross boundaries between ambient/chill and more idm/experimental sounds. Not content to stay at home, Bluetech has toured extensively and performed in Japan, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Croatia, France, Denmark, Mexico, United States, and Canada.
Bluetech has released two albums on Aleph Zero Records, an internationally acclaimed chill label run by recording artist Shulman, and is currently working on a third for release in 2008. Aleph Zero brought Bluetech's music to the attention of the international chill audience, and helped to launch his career worldwide through strong support and beautiful packaging. Stay tuned for the next chapter!

Evan Marc (bluetech)

Progressive Tech project from downtempo producer Bluetech. Melodic and dub influenced music with a focus on dancefloor usability and emotional development. Evan Marc seeks to explore revolving geometries through kinetic audio sculpture. New album 'Emotional Ecology" out now and available on beatport, itunes, or on cd at Native State Records.
Description:

My summer 2007 schedule was crazy hectic, filled with gigs and gatherings all over Western North America. The event which was the finale was the Symbiosis Gathering in California in September, and this mix reflects a portion of the Sons of Aurora set I played with my partner Norris. The gathering was one of the highlights of my summer and these particular tracks are for me a portal back to that amazing weekend up in the mountains East of San Francisco. The fact that they are all off of the same three labels goes to show that I am a big fan of what Flow, Blue Tunes and Iboga records are up to these days.

This mix is a short one due to the one hour time allowance as it will was featured on Wes Straub's new online radio show 709 Sessions which can be found at: http://www.tribalmixes.org .

i read about jack... warm love to koren and family... i'll always remember his smiling face.

take care of yourselves... i'll see you under the moon in the nebulous future...

When we dance we are free

<from Paulo Coelho's warriorofthelight.com>

Everything moves. And everything moves to a rhythm. And everything that moves produces a sound; that is happening here and all over the world at this very moment. Our ancestors noticed the same thing when they tried to escape from the cold in their caves: things moved and made noise.

The first human beings perhaps looked on this with awe, and then with devotion: they understood that this was the way that a Superior Being communicated with them. They began to imitate the noises and movements around them, hoping to communicate with this Being: and dancing and music were born.

When we dance, we are free.

To put it better, our spirit can travel through the universe, while our body follows a rhythm that is not part of the routine. In this way, we can laugh at our sufferings large or small, and deliver ourselves to a new experience without any fear. While prayer and meditation take us to the sacred through silence and inner pondering, in dance we celebrate with others a kind of collective trance.

They can write whatever they want about dancing, but it is no use: you have to dance to find out what they are talking about. Dance to the point of exhaustion, like mountain-climbers scaling some sacred peak. Dance until, out of breath, our organism can receive oxygen in a way that it is not used to, and this ends up making us lose our identity, our relation with space and time.

Of course we can dance alone, if that helps us to get over our shyness. But whenever possible, it is better to dance in a group, because one stimulates the other and this ends up creating a magic space where all are connected in the same energy.

To dance, it is not necessary to learn in some school; just let our body teach us – because we have danced since the darkest times, and we never forget that. When I was an adolescent I envied the great “ballerinos” among the kids on the block, and pretended I had other things to do at parties – like having a conversation. But in fact I was terrified of looking ridiculous, and because of that I would not risk a single step. Until one day a girl called Marcia called out to me in front of everybody:

“Come on!”

I said I did not like to dance, but she insisted. Everyone in the group was looking, and because I was in love (love is capable of so many things!), I could refuse no further. I was ridiculous, I did not know how to follow the steps, but Marcia did not stop; she went on dancing as if I were a Rudolf Nureyev.

“Forget the others and pay attention to the bass,” she whispered in my ear. “Try to follow its rhythm.”

At that moment I understood that we do not always have to learn the most important things; they are already part of our nature. In youth, dancing is a fundamental rite of passage: for the very first time we feel a state of grace, a deep ecstasy, even if for the less tuned-in it is all just a bunch of boys and girls enjoying themselves at a party.

When we become adults, and when we grow old, we need to go on dancing. The rhythm changes, but music is part of life, and dancing is the consequence of letting this rhythm come inside us.

I still dance whenever I can. With dancing, the spiritual world and the real world manage to co-exist without any conflicts. As somebody once said, the classic ballerinas are always on tiptoe because they are at the same time touching the earth and reaching the sky.

Thanks.
**************************************************************************************************

Hi all,

We've been evacuated since Sunday and are looking for help. Maybe someone on this list can help us. We can't get back into the area to see if our homes have burned or to rescue any cats that might still be alive.

Does anyone know anyone with an animal rescue organization that can get into the area to get our small friends? Does anyone know someone in the area or a firefighter that might have news about the structures at Madre Grande Monastery (address is 18372 Highway 94, Dulzura, CA 91917). Maybe even a local sheriff or border patrol? We know most people are busy with the current evacuation areas and their own losses, and we're being as patient as we can, but we'd love some help. It's been days and we really want to get our cats or at least have someone check on them. It's trying to go through this with no information, so please contact us at reservations@madregrande.org or call my cell phone at (619) 850-6936 if you can help - anytime.

Thank you in advance. We really appreciate any support. We'll let you know when we have more information.

Sincerely,
Tracey
