I saw that Morgana was going to be at Gothla UK 2008 and had to book straight away, now I can't stop feeling like a stupid, giddy, overexcited idiot!

Re: Gothla UK
Tue, February 19, 2008 - 9:24 AMYAY! We would've had her last year but there as it was a new venture, we were worried we wouldn't be able to fund it all from scratch.
Thanks to last years success, we are absolutely DELIGHTED to have Morgana here! Viva La Gothlalution! :D

Re: Gothla UK
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 9:30 AMI've booked for Dagger Technique and I was wondering - do we need to bring our own daggers along?
(was looking for an excuse to buy a pair anyway...) -

Re: Gothla UK
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 4:29 PMIn Germany we brought our own, so I guess that applies here too. Check with airlines and local authorities about carrying them to the venue. -

Mon, March 17, 2008 - 4:04 PMAny suggestions for good ones? Is balance etc an issue or can we just choose for aesthetics? -

Re: Gothla UK
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 12:21 PMI suggest the blade of the daggers not longer than 15-20 cm, so the movements can be easier, and you don't hurt yourself. Don't bring sais, or small swords, because they are used in a different way.
I prefer the curved ones, but anyone can be used.
I'll check this topic every week, so if you have more questions... I'll be pleased to help :o) -

Re: Gothla UK
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 2:43 PMThanks for your reply.
Apart from the min. 2 years of oriental dance experience, do we need to have done any work with daggers before?
I'm browsing around the net for a pair and not finding any that strike my fancy as of yet...will keep hunting! It's great, I finally have an excuse to buy them ;o) -

Re: Gothla UK
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 7:56 AMYou don't need any experience with daggers before
We almost won't use classical oriental steps (maybe bellyroll, wave, and so) in the workshop, but you need to have a body control to execute the steps and exercises. I ask for a minimun of years dancing because this workshop is focus to dancers who have done my Gothic Workshop... but any dancer can try it.

Re: Gothla UK
Thu, April 17, 2008 - 5:59 AMI just read about the stupid UK sword ban.
tribes.tribe.net/tribaluk/...248751bbfa
I am gutted. This country sucks! I need to find out more - are daggers covered by the ban? How disappointing and rubbish. -

Re: Gothla UK
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 5:33 AMNo, if they are short.
I talked about this ban with the Gothla team, but I think there's no problem yet... : )
