now that I've got my Netflix Instant set up. I've been watching documentaries like a fiend.
Granted, the selection isn't as huge as their mailable list, but it's getting bigger all the time and has plenty of things (mostly foreign films, documentaries, and television) that I've been meaning to watch. It's been great while the bronchitis kicks my ass these past few weeks because I can veg in front of the laptop and watch whatever I want.

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 10:07 AMI am SO with you on this!
I have been using the instant selection to watch things like Forever Knight (anyone remember that show?). I know Zach won't care for it so I can watch it while he is watching the stupid sports and everyone is happy. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 1:56 PMOh, I remember Forever Knight! I watched the first season of "Dexter" while I was sick and today I watched "Word Wars", a documentary about champion Scrabble players and the national tournament. Good documentary, but I was disappointed to find out that most of the top Scrabble players are unemployed bums. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 2:00 PMI have seasons 1-2 of Forever Knight on DVD, I'm still debating whether or not the get the 3rd. It had some great episodes but over all was a bummer of a season. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 3:02 PMI was thinking about starting to buy them just because. I liked the show (obviously not enough to rememebr the name) but as I am watching them again I recall that I liked them. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 4:05 PMI met the man who played La Coix ages ago at a convention. For such a sinister character I did not expect him to be such a soft voiced Irish man, very sweet too paying me a lovely complement on my Irish Dancing that I had done for an evening concert at the convention.

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Wed, June 4, 2008 - 7:43 AMI just got done watching all three on NetFlix. I think I am going to have to agree with you Cybele. Season 3 sucked ass. I hated that Janette lost her edge, I got to a point where I really disliked Natalie and was wishing that they would kill her off or something. I think had Janette and Natalie not gone so downhill the season wouldn't have been so bad. It also could have done without Vachon.
Most of all I hated the last episode but really I think I hated it because it was the last one, not because it was that bad really. It was your typical series finale.
All of that being said I still think I will get season 3 just to have it. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Wed, June 4, 2008 - 7:45 AMcorrection.... I hated that Janette was not around in season 3 and the one episode she was in is where she had lost her edge. She just wasn't Janette... -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Wed, June 4, 2008 - 8:19 AMYeah I was so disapointed in the changes for season 3 and Nick's new partner made me nuts. I NEVER like Nathalie..but I loved Janette and yeah it was an odd episode but it was one of the few I really liked. All in all I could I have lived without 2/3 rds of season 3. -

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Wed, June 4, 2008 - 10:05 AMI hear ya. I'm not sure Natalie was ever a favorite but her true intentions and nature really came out more in that last season I think.

Re: I never need to leave the house again
Mon, May 19, 2008 - 3:01 PMThe funny thing about Forever Knight is that I put it on my list because the description looked interesting. I had totally spaced that show even existed. And then the other night I decided to use the netflix instant feature and started watching it. All of a sudden I was like, "Hey, I know this show!"

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 1:00 PMI've been glutting myself on the first season of "This American Life". I have a huge geek crush on Ira Glass.
