Ann's February post

Hey everyone!

I went crazy last night making these new hoops--4 solid hours! But I was determined to get my MTG video done before I went to sleep. If my writing is less than cogent, I blame sleep deprivation.

I still need to comment on Michele's core hooping (which I loved) and Nicki's Feb post (which I haven't had a chance to see yet). But I am going to go ahead and post this before walking my pup--it's such a beautiful day, I don't want to stay inside!

Thank you, Beth, for your inspiring suggestion!

Aaahh... what a trancey feel to your share this month. Your loose hair, twirly skirt, bent head and closed eyes. I felt like I was watching a very private moment. I'm curious if you did this after your sustained spinning vids (they are breathtaking)?
Your variety of paddles is inspiring. I love how you bring in one arm to your chest while you break with the other. Along with how you stop the hoop with both forearms on the chest and "rock" back and forth. These movements remind me of tender hugs and seem so gentle and caring. Watching your vid's tells me how I really have to concentrate on drilling more.
I loved your barrel rolls with the forearm lifts..again inspiring. Thank you Ann.

I'm sorry to tell you that I will be joing team Kahn at the retreat. I have to go with Christina...

i initially had some resistance to paddling when i first saw is being done and then as i've learned about it and practiced thanks to this assignment i found it to be addictive what other people have said about it too. when i watch your video i saw you getting mesmorized by those movements and exploring the rythym through opening up to the hoop and pushing it away (which i think is the expirence beth was trying to share with us?) i think you got so entranced though you left passing behind. i personally find that i need a looong song to find my way in and out of diffrent spots. overall i thought you 're paddling technique was beautiful and creative, espicially in the angle hooping!

The truth is that I doinked out and totally forgot about passing! I do not get an 'A' on this assignment. But I did get entranced-- thank you, Colleen and Michele. I really need to get back to my comments on this tribe!

lovely. you really shine with your economy of movement while holding on to your grace. your chest hooping is really balanced. it seemed like you found your groove in your upper core and stayed there through most of the song. your paddles really flow. and the angle hooping with the in/outs and paddling barrell rolls made me say "ooh" out loud to myself. you are fluent in angle dance. colleen made a good point that you hug your hoop :)
          did you make that skirt?

how do y'all hoop with your hair down? it makes me feel encumbered.
