Porter Wagoner, passed away on Oct. 28, He had his own Country Music show and was a member of the Grand Ole Oprey, His probably best know for launching the career of Dolly Parton. His songs have been covered by everyone from Willy Nelson to The Knitters. He'll be missed.

every single piece of music this man has done has been awesome.i mean,cmon, he did the theme song to "mr. Belvedeere". i have seen him live 3 times,he is a true entertainer,he is funny,he is an amazing guitarist,vocalist and he did a whistling solo . he is a mysterious and elusive man,not to mention a total weirdo.i even got to meet him once and he has a way of staying in the corner of your eye, even when you are looking right at him.if you do not have any Leon Redbone albums,get all of them. if you dont like his music, you are a tin-eared philistine and you shall rightfully be sentenced to eternal torment.

enjoyed his final moments on earth early this morning. he was a gentleman,a good human being and a learned man. he did benefit concerts for so many causes and performed with everyone. he even did the song "roots,bloody roots" with Sepultura. you will be missed, Mr. Pavarotti. i am listening to "the yetti" by clutch. the song is about him wandering through the hills of manitoba and encountering the yetti, who asks him for the time because he is in a hurry to return to the himalayas,where the action is much better.strangeness. clutch is a bunch of weird hillbillies and seeing that i am also a weird hillbilly or "hillwilliam" as i prefer, i like them alot.

"I Can See for Miles" The Who

I heard this song this morning driving into work. I have always loved The Who, I consider them to be one of the most underated bands regarding their influence on Punk. In this song in particular, you can hear the heaviness of the music, being constrained, at this point they were not the "Loudest Band in Rock n Roll" yet and had not broken the sound barrier. I found this great bit of Trivia on Wikipedia:
The song inspired The Beatles' song, "Helter Skelter". Paul McCartney wrote "Helter Skelter" after reading a review of "I Can See for Miles" wherein the writer of the review claimed that it was the heaviest song he'd ever heard. Then McCartney, who had not actually heard the song, wrote "Helter Skelter" in an attempt to make an even heavier song than "I Can See for Miles".

Perfect Circle

I'm really into these guys right now. I know they have been around for a while and haven't even released any new material recently, but they really inspire me. Thier first album is still one of my all time favorites. Whithin the last year I bought "13th Step" and "Emotive". The understated artistry and emotion of "13th" just blew me away. I love Maynard. There are less big, over blown guitars on thier more recent stuff, and that's a little bit of a shame since Billy Howerdale is an amazing guitarist, but it is no less powerful, just not as bombastic.
