Completely hairless

Are any of you completely hairless from head to toe - including eyebrows (and maybe even eyelashes)?

I have had a completly hairless body for over 15 years, a shaved head for over 5 years and no eyebrows for the last 3 years. I have even removed my eyelashes occasionally with my ear/nose trimmer so I can be 100% hair free. If I could find a way to have alopecia universalis I would go for it!

Do any of you feel the same?

Laser Hair Removal?

Anyone else done this? I've been going for over a year and spent well over $5k to have the hair permanently removed from my arms, legs, chest, stomach, and pelvic area. So far, it has been great, though it's a very timely process. Takes anywhere from 8-10 sessions 5 months apart to have the hair permanently removed and, depending on where it is on the body, can be kinda painful.

I think it'll be worth it though. Being completely smooth all the time will be wonderful. Never having to shave will also be wonderful.

So, are there guys (here, or that you've heard of in general) who are attracted to hairy men, as in, into the contrast between one smooth body and one hairy one? I get a lot of attention, online & in realtime, from "bears"....and unfortunately, that's not my thing. It's mostly the very hairy guys who like my look. I really like men with shaved pubes, and I'm not especially into ultra-furry-body types. Most of what I see in online ads is in the "seeking same" vein, whether the author is hairy or smooth. I may decide to shave everything one day, but for now, I'm content with the fur. Am I alone in liking contrast, in terms of partners?

Have been a trimmer for many years, only shaved certain parts
at different times like chest, arms, legs, pubes, and only recently
went with the total body shave. Love it, it feels awesome to be
so free. Any way, have been searching the net for tips and tricks
on body hair removal and ran across a site for nudest nudists, or
smoothy nudists, as they also like to be called.
Some of them are swearing by epilators such as braun, phillips and
emjoi. Any one out there tried one of these? Thoughts? Pain? Results?

Norelco Bodygroom Update

Well. If you haven't yet, don't rush out and buy this. My bf dropped mine - an accident, no worries. Maybe. The head got busted, our fault, I call to find out if I can get a replacement, and they're NOT available. That's right. Despite the documentation listing it as an available replacement part, despite it being a modular snap-it-out component, despite there being a toll-free number AND a website URL for ordering this, the company does NOT have them. Customer service's advice was to drop another $40 on a new unit. So, I'm out $40, that's a barely-used rechargable battery that I have to find a way to dispose of, and that's a great product sabotaged by craptacular customer support.

I'm bitterly disappointed, and waiting for a call back from a supervisor about my complaint. I'll keep you all posted.

And let me say that in 6 years of shaving my head I have never, ever knicked and cut it as much as with the Headblade. My scalp looked like a war zone covered in blood. Model for me and the calendar I am working on here in foggy San Francisco.

The plan is to have an "army" of folks marching up Castro tomorrow morning at 6am (yes that is in the am but is before the marathon and before Dore Alley!). Folks would be dressed in tighy whiteys, combat boots and aviator sunglasses (we will provide if you don't have said items!). With the people assembled in military formation the Castro theatre marquee in the background will display the message "CLEAN NEEDLES SAVE LIVES". No one will be completely naked. All body shapes are welcome and DESIRED. Electrical tape will be provided to cover exposed bits etc.

I know that this is last minute. I know that this is a risque and strange request. I know it is super early. I know that I am doing this in a non-personal manner. I know all of these things and yet I am asking for your help to make this shot a really amazing message. Please email me and tell me the news - be it yes, no, maybe or you bloody insane lady go back to smoking crack. I am prepared for the inevitable a rejection from you all but maybe one or two of you will surprise and delight me and actually show up. a grrl can dream right?

Ok, so I was having a hard time with razor burn and ingrown hairs on my chest and down in the pubic region. I was exfoliating beforehand and everything. Finally, someone told me to shave completely dry *before* the shower with baby powder.. When you shower, your skin gets warm and puffy, and the loofa can irritate the skin leading to ingrown hairs.. So I shaved dry with a new razor last night. It worked! No irritation, no razor burn, no ingrowns.. Give it a go!

I just purchased this at Target for $40 and I must say I am very impressed. My upper body (which is not that hairy to begin with) and private areas were shaved clean in a matter of minutes with no pain. It works both wet and dry, although dry worked much better for my upper body, wet worked for hairy areas (my legs.)

How I got into it...

wrote this for a friend, but thought it'd fit here too.

At first, before I decided to shave it all, i was worried that it'd look weird... But then as I started and then went on and finished, it looked better and better.. In fact, the more I shaved off, the better. So, after the first time, my stomach, chest, arm pits, and everything down there was shaved... but my arms still had hair on them, as did my legs... that looked weird in my opinion... So, I shaved my arms, and was psyched, because 1) it was really easy 2) there was no irritation (i guess the skin on the arms is "tougher" 3) they looked and felt great. If you have any muscle definition, it really comes out when you shave your arms... Then, of course, everything was shaved but my legs... and the bum. so i thought, "eh, what the hell..." So now I'm hooked. I just love the way it looks and feels having everything shaved. It's so nice and I've never felt cleaner and more refreshed than I do after I shave my entire body. Realistically I shave my whole body about once a week now. Usually I'll do the arms, stomach, undercarriage twice a week, just because if you don't shave for several days, the small hairs that start growing back make you itch.. It's a paradox. Once you shave everything, you'll want to (and have to) keep doing it :)

Took the plunge... Hello Lasers!

So, I had my first laser hair removal session on my chest, stomach, and pelvic region a week ago. I must say, this is definitely the way to go. I didn't really think it was painful at all (but I like pain, so)... Anyway, when you sign up, you basically agree to coming in for 6 sessions to get all the hair removed in the area.. Or at least that's how this place works. So, just after the first session, I'm very happy with the results so far. I'd say i have about 15% less hair coming in on the chest/stomach, and the rest of the hair is growing very slowly and is very fine, so. .. I can't wait to be completely done. next year, I hope to go back for the rest of my body! woohoo!

Ok. So maybe i'm a little weird in the fact that i loathe body hair. yeah, i'm a guy, and i'm straight, but am compelled to not have body hair... So, i offer this guide to everyone, because i know there are a lot of people out there who shave, but deal with razor burn, ingrown hairs, irritation, etc. There's little help out there for those of us (like me) with sensitive skin.. or maybe people who want to eventually not have body hair either.

I don't know.. I guess, in a way, I feel like an evolved species when i shave.. body hair, to me, serves no function. it's dirty.. it makes people smell bad, and i think it's a stupid double standard that we expect our women to be smoothe and silky and expect them to be happy snuggling up with a hairy, disgusting male. women want silky and smoothe, too (well, at least many women i've talked to do)...

Not to say that there aren't women who like body hair on guys. I know there are lots that do. but my reasons for shaving are personal to me.. not to fit some sort of social group or desire of others, but to fulfill my own desire to feel happy with my body... A shaved body is more sensitive to touch, too... Everything's more fun after you've shaved.

So without further adoooo, i offer my guide... so.. There are some products that you should buy.

1. Regular stick of Dove unscented deodorant
2. Aveeno brand shaving creme (with the light blue cap)
3. Double-bladed disposable razors (triple bladed razors are very bad for people with sensitive skin)
4. A loofa and some shower gel
5. Palmer's Cocoa butter
6. Kalo hair inhibitor cream:

(It may make you raise an eyebrow, but i've been using it and it works)

step 1:
So, the best thing to do is take a shower. Use nice, warm water to open the pores on your skin. A bath also works. Use the loofa and shower gel (#4) to scrub down your skin.. this exfoliates, which is really good for your skin to brush away dead skin, since lots of times, this is what will cause ingrown hair after you shave, which is very uncomfortable.

step 2:
once you've showered, or bathed, drain the water out of the tub so that there's maybe a couple inches of water, so you can sit in the bath and shave.. later your legs up with the Aveeno shaving cream, and shave using long strokes against the grain with VERY LITTLE pressure. you just want the razor to glide against the skin. this will keep you from getting razor burn. once you've done your legs, you're ready to move on to your nether regions.

step 3:
the first couple of times you do your privates, you should maybe just shave "with" the grain. sometimes, when you've not shaved "down there" for awhile, you can get razor burn because your skin is not used to being shaved in that area and is extra sensitive. after you've done it a couple times, though, you can start shaving against the grain much like you did on your legs.. very carefully and with very little pressure. then, if you're a guy (or a hair girl), you can move on to your stomach, chest, and arms. your arms, or at least mine, should shave with no irritation, so just shave them against the grain. Chest can get razor burned, so just use light pressure when shaving against the grain. Your stomach, really, should be ok, like your arms, so against the grain is fine there, too. There is that spot, for me, anyway, between the belly button and the pelvic region. I call this the "belt line" -- I go with the grain here always, because, even when I try to be careful, my pants rubbing that spot all day long will make it very irritated.

step 4:
once you're all shaven, get up and turn on the shower with "cool to cold" water. as cold as you can stand and have it be comfortable. cool water on your skin after you shave will close the pores and help keep your skin from getting irritated. now you can get out of the shower.. dry off by patting the skin instead of rubbing it.

step 5:
once your skin is dry, use the Kalo creme on your legs and your privates, and whatever else you want to make permanent. This is a little known cream that will actually work as a permanent "hair inhibitor" It soaks in to your skin and "tricks" the cell of the hair follicles to stop growing new hair. So each time you use it, less hair grows back, and the hair that *does* grow back is much finer and easier to shave. Eventually, though, your hair will stop growing down there and you really wont have to shave at all.. A word of note: this stuff really DOES work. I've been using it for a month now and it's really working. each time i use it, i'd say 10% of my hair is not growing back. the hair that does grow back grows MUCH slower and is more fine. so rub this creme onto your legs and privates, and other spots, wait 15 minutes and then apply it again.

step 6:
Another 15 mins later, apply the Dove unscented deodorant WITH the grain to your pubic hair area (or places that then to get irritated from shaving). This is actually a trick strippers use to keep them from getting razor burn and ingrown hairs. it really works, too.

later that night, apply the cocoa butter to your skin. it's very soothing and feels awesome. (tip: have someone ELSE apply the cocoa butter *wink*)

the next morning, apply the kalo creme to your parts that you don't want to grow hair again. wait 15 mins, then apply again.

so that's all you really have to do until it's time to shave again the next time, which will be 4-5 days... but each time you do this, you're on your way to never having to shave again.

Durring/After Shave

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but I love Dr. Bronners Peppermint Soap for shaving and as after shave.

I usually start with Kiss-My-Face shave cream, shave, and then go over areas with a bit of DocBs and run the razor over again.

After words I dilute a little of the peppermint soap with cool water and wash with it. Rinse cold, and I'm good to go.

This soap is the most awesome for everything (dishes, household, body care, camping, etc. 100% biodegradable, non toxic, no animal testing, etc.)

Triple bladed razors = bad

So I heard from dermatologists that they recommend AGAINST using a top-of-the-line triple-bladed razor to shave your body, because they shave TOO close, irritating the skin, and causing razor burn/ingrown hairs...

Most recommend a nice double-bladed or disposable razor.

Razor Burn?

Has anyone had a problem with razor burn? Sometimes I still get this on my chest and 'down there' as well. As well as my thighs.

one thing i've found to helps razor burn is to shave "with the grain" in those sensitive areas. But I don't like the way the shave isn't as close when you do that.

Any other tips?
