gothic leather bra and belt

This is a hand made costume. This is the 1st and only one of this style I have made. It is very Gothic and Tribal Fusion worthy. Both bra and belt are lined. The bra is very sturdy will hold it's shape well.The bra will fit a 36 C/D This costume will work great for new students, hobbyist class recitals, parties, Goth night, belly fusion, photos, and performances.
This is an original one of a kind costume.

The bra will fit a 36 C/D. The bra is cover in a black fabric for the base. Over the base of the bra is a row 100% leather fringe . This fringe can be cut into thinner strip if you want or it can be tapered into a v-shaped or left as is. The neck straps are 42 inches long and will fasten criss cross across the back with D-rings. The length of the bra from d-ring to D-ring is 24 inches.

The belt base is covered in a patch design of various colors and texture of 100% leather. The belt is 36 inches long not including the tie ends. The tie ends are about 15 inches long. The belt is lined and had an elastic casing in the back that can be gathered to fit better around the hips for the dancer with curves. If you need to have the belt shorten it can be done. The belt has 3 grouping of leather fringe that are also 100 % leather and is floor length. Between the grouping of fringe there are metal chains with bells for sound and movement.

This is the 1st and only one of this kind that I have made so far, so it is a one of a kind piece of wearable art. .This is for a dancer who is daring, dark and want's to be notice.

Snakes at the Prom

Yes you read that right! Snakes at teh prom five to be exact.
Soraya and I are snake dancing at a local prom this weekend. It's a two hour gig with snakes, but in fancy cabaret stuff. :~{
My snake handling hubby is also going to help. We are taking five snakes to display and rotate with us as dance partners. I have had three of these shed in the last couple of weeks, so they are ready to go.
Sound like fun?
Don't worry we'll try to get pics of this great event/gig.
We going to the prom, muhahahha!

Look out I am ready to get back to my dance. the orthopedic surgeon said "Go dance!" I have tp take it a little easy though, no neck slides yet. It can take 5-12 months for the bone to fuse solid. My x-ray looks like th bionic woman, allthat metal in my neck., I should be able to pick up radio Egypt. LOL

Mystic Hips Mardi Gras Surpise on WLKY News today!

I was watching WLKY news today and they showed Mystic Hips Belly Dancing at Mardis Gras Louisville from two years ago for a teaser before a commercial, then when they talked about Mardi Gras they showed Ruric dancing and went back to our two year old clip, Boy was Mystic Hips Shocked!!! There we were all in our green and gold and purple.
This is a photo of the clip. Grotesque Burlesque, Kynt, and Vyxin were also there. Good times.

Taking it slow..................sucks.......

Well I have to still take it slowwwwwwwley till I see the Orthopedic surgeron on the 28th.
I still feel some pain and stiffness in my neck and well I am trying to do some stuff. After all I don't plan on sitting down for long it's not who I am. I really think the cold and rain are making me hurt some too.
But the scar is healing nicely, but I still look like a slasher victim. LOL

So is everyone else staying healthy??????? What wonderful dark things have you been up to?

Weight loss....YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

So I have been using the weight watchers point system and since Oct 3rd I have lost 11 pounds. That's almost 3 lbs a week.
The whole thing is you gotta eat. I eat three meals plus snacks that add up to my daily points. And there are things that have no points too.

On the first page it says check out the point calculator here, you put in info and it tells you how many points it has per serving according to the serving size on the package and down father #67 tells you how to figure how many points you should eat in a day.

Safiyyah needs Prayers again...

Safiyyah is numb down her entire left side and fell down her stairs last night injuring her tailbone and spraining her wrist. Her expensive meds are not working at all. Her Neurologist is on vacation till next week and she is home resting.

Weight Gain

Hey loves, recently I've put on about 66 pounds. I found "Bigbeautiful Bellydancers" and joined them. I would like to post here though about the changes my body has undergone and how it has effected and enhanced my dancing. I find my hipwork is much easier to do. The added mass well just goes with the motion and momentum. I also enjoy how when doing rolling, the undulation is so much more pronounced. All and all... I feel more sensual, more sexy. I feel as though I wish there were even more of me. Any thoughts? If this is way off topic or a bit odd, let me know... But I do think that the 66 pounds hasn't been a bad thing. ;)

I was rear ended last Friday and have a whiplash. I have to go see my orthopedic surgeon to be sure It didn't mess up the surgery he did a couple of years ago. Funny thing, My dad was with me and after the accident I run my hand down his back and said you have no pain? And no he does not have any pain at all, but as a healer/empath I wonder if I took it on for us both. OUCH!
The kid who hit us was very scared and his moms van was demolished. My dad's Ranger truck with matching topper was not so bad. I just hope there is not hidden damage.
My hubby has been doing Craniosacral therpy on me to help me get over this quickly. But I know I need to rest and heal form it all.

Safiyyah Benefit had over 118 paid patrons ! WooooHoooo!

There were over 118 paid patrons not counting all of our workers, musicians and and dancers. What a great attendance!
The silent auction and more than enough items for everyone.
The only complaint we heard all night was the show was long, hard on the older crowd. It was an easy event to put together, there is not much I would do different, except ask for more help setting up and cleaning up, we had a skeleton crew for that.

Tempest at the Keep Safiyyah Dancing Benefit June 2nd

Safiyyah has Aggressive Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis.
This means she has had times when she cannot walk, or drive, or work, much less dance. The Medicines she has been taking over the last three years are not working for her. The new medicine they are treating her with is very expensive. Not to mention her loss of work while receiving treatment.

Our show will be representing the many styles of Belly Dance. Cabaret, Tribal, Fusion, Gothic

Live music by: George Wakim and Firas Madbak, Snakes Rising, Il’Troubadore, and many dancers from many places,
including our special guest Tempest.

There will be a silent auction and concessions.

$10.00 per person
Doors open at 6:00 pm Show at 7:00 pm
Location: Saint Helens Catholic Church Gym

Hubby and his new Chanter

Yes, a Chanter to learn to play Bagpipes. He hasn't played and instrument except a doumbek for years, he put it together and made a few osunds like a sick duck which made our 85 pound dog scrable on the kitchen floor and come running to check it out. LOL
Then he played a Christmas tune on it like he'd been playing for years. HA! Who would have tought. I can't wait till the Mizmar gets here. Don't know why it's taking so long.

Saint Valentine
Saint Valentine, according to romantic legend, was a kind-hearted Roman priest who married young couples against the wishes of Emperor Claudius II, and was beheaded for his deeds on the 14th of February. In truth, the exact origins and identity of St. Valentine are unclear. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "At least three different Saint Valentines, all of them martyrs, are mentioned in the early martyrologies under the date of 14 February." Two of these men lived in the third century A.D., one being the bishop of Interamna (now Terni, Italy) and the other a priest of Rome. (Some speculate that these two figures were actually the same man.) Both seem to have been persecuted for their beliefs; the Roman priest reportedly was beaten and then beheaded on the orders of Emperor Claudius II, on or about the year 270. Legends vary on how the martyr's name became connected with romance: the date of his death may have become mingled with the feast of Lupercalia, a pagan festival of love, or with the ancient belief that birds first mate in the middle of February. In modern times Valentine's Day is a day of special romantic sentiment and gift-giving among lovers.

Thier fingers bleed? It has come to the point of Soraya telling me they cannot wear the costume unless I have bleed on it. Sort of a good luck symbol. At my expense of course.
I say isn't it enough that I may cuss over it, sweat it, and even be generally frustrated?
Apparently not! So if Bleed I must, so be it.
Too bad they are our WHITE costumes for The White Tour Lousiville. LOL

Update on Safiyyah.

We wwnet back to the Doctor today, and they found more active lesions on her brain. What this means is that her meds are not helping her. She will start a new treatment in a couple of weeks where she goes to the hospital for a couple of hours and gets an IV fusion of a new drug that is supposed to stop new growth and reduce the lesions. This will be a once every 4 weeks treatment, so no more daily shots YEAH!
Pray it works and she will be on the mend soon.
I also want to thank everyone for all your support, love, prayers, and positive energy.

Update on Safiyyah...

Safiyyah went back to work this week, and is very tired. The steroids didn't work the
magic they did the first time. So she still has numbness and tingling on her right side, but she is walking without her cane. She is also taking something for nerve pain which she maybe should have been on long before now.
We are all anxious to see the new Dr.s on Dec 13th, hopefully they will be of more help. It is a M.S. clinic here in town.
With this being said, she is going to dance with us at the SCA's Christmas Tourney this Saturday Dec 2nd at the feast.
I am making her a vest and a new tribal style hip belt tomorrow.
