  I've owned three of these horses....
  
  My first was a bright red chestnut named Reuben James. He was 7 yrs old.
  
  The second, a 2.5 yr old filly named Abby. She was half TB and half quarter horse.
  
  The third was Dutch, who was a successful racehorse in Montana. He was about 5 or 6 and 17 hands high. A winner. But didn't like racing.
  
  I've owned another TB since then, named Lucy, but she was never destined for the track.
  
  These horses have had hard lives. Really.

  Oh my, I would have one if we could. So, sad and wrong to kill something just because it did perform to some standard.
