Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to come full circle. Therefore, every 3 years or so,Jupiter will transit conjunct, square, or opposite a natal point. When that natal point is an intensely personal planet or point (such as the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus, or Mars), we feel its effects in a similarly personal way.

Jupiter transits perhaps receive more positive press than they deserve, as those of us who have waited for Jupiter to transit conjunct our Sun can attest. Why? Because if we wait for Jupiter to bestow us with wonderful gifts, we are sure to be disappointed. What Jupiter does do is infuse us with the license to dream, to hope, and to feel good about ourselves.

Jupiter is an influence that acts to expand and enlarge our personal landscapes. Jupiter transits allow growth and expansion of consciousness involving the conditions and natures of the houses and planets involved. Our confidence and level of joy is increased in these areas of life, and we feel motivated to improve or gain in these areas of life. These are times in our lives when we feel a little more free and confident, and when we are not as aware of restraints. Problems arise when we overdo, and are so confident that we ignore reality and don't think of consequences. However, just as we need Saturn to remind us that we need to buckle down, we also need Jupiter to remind us that we won't get very far if we don't believe in ourselves.

Jupiter acts to expand, and it gives us hope and enthusiasm. It can also make us feel rather restless or overconfident. Jupiter is the planet of possibilities and it offers us promises. Whether these promises are realistic is something to consider seriously. However, Jupiter is a jovial influence, and we all need that kind of energy from time to time! When Jupiter transits a natal planet, it gives that part of our personality a boost, reminding us that we may have been underestimating our capabilities. It invites us to have some faith in ourselves and our abilities.

Remember always that for Jupiter transits to benefit us to the utmost, we need to grab opportunities. We cannot wait for things to happen to us. At the same time, we must be aware of the potential for overdoing, for glossing over details to feed our optimism.

More about Jupiter Transits aspects with the Sun, Moon and others planets very soon.

A good question to address! Astrology, via the birthchart, provides us with a symbolic blueprint of the planetary patterns at a particular time and place. In other words, at the time of our birth it provides us with a blueprint of the energy patterns to which the cells of our human being-ness vibrate. The planetary patterns are like a mirror, reflecting back for us our own human characteristics, potentials, strengths, weaknesses, abilities, talents, and struggles. There is no such thing as a *bad* birthchart. Nor a *good* one. There is no birthchart that preordains a specific fate. Every birthchart contains the roots of many potential personalities--each planetary pattern can run the infinite continuum between a positive and negative expression of its symbology as well as be expressed on a variety of different levels. Each and every one of us has the free will to choose how we will make use of the planetary energies. And, it is tremendously helpful to have an understanding of the dynamics of the planetary patterns in our own birthcharts so we can choose consciously.

So what can astrology do for us? I'm going to borrow from an insightful astrologer & author I deeply respect, Steven Forrest, because he states this simply. "First, our birthchart clearly indicates the happiest path for us to walk. Second, it indicates the tools we have available for walking that path and how best to use them. Third, it indicates what our lives will look like if we step off that path. In addition, the birthchart provides the means for discovering our unique life purpose. And, it is usually that which we ultimately find the most joy in doing, that presents the greatest challenges to overcome."

Astrology is just one of many means to self-discovery. What I like best is the speed with which that discovery can be made. Astrology can validate who we already (however unconsciously) know ourselves to be when it might take years to make such discoveries using other means. Your birthchart will indicate your unique self and the skills and gifts you have to offer the rest of humanity. It will point out areas of imbalance and indicate the means to regaining balance. It can assist you in making satisfying choices in regard to your relationships, work, education, and life goals. It can help you to gain clarity and perspective when in conflict, confusion, or transition. It points out your natural cycles--such as, the most opportune time for planting seeds, nurturing the seeds to growth, harvesting the 'crop,' or plowing the crop under to prepare for a new cycle. Truly, for everything there is a season... So, in addition to assisting you in embracing the whole of yourself, astrology can also help you to prepare for emerging opportunities and to develop appropriate timing.

Fast-moving Mars at 8° Taurus activates the cross and semi-squares (45°) the Full Moon. We can hope that the prevailing intense emotion will act as a catalyst for constructive changes, as problems become glaring and the public reacts to them. (Not shown here is another big fixed grand cross on December 26.) Expect major news from the business world - either blatant greed or a lot of complaining from business leaders about government policies. Also, Venus and Chiron are conjunct at 0° Aquarius.

Sagittarius represents idealism, faith, enthusiasm, the quest for meaning, and a generosity of spirit. These are the qualities one needs to get through this darkest time of the year when the days shorten, the nights lengthen, and all becomes dark and cold. Even the slanting sun shines with a brightness that is tentative and not quite warming enough. As the earth retreats into its annual death cycle, so must we also turn within, and seek the wisdom of the dark time. This darkness calls out to our souls, asking us to face the fallibility of human life and its connection to the death of all things in the natural world. Mortality, something we fear and deny more than anything else in life, shows us our inate connection with all things in nature; we are, after all, just another species. To negate this fact, humans reach far beyond this stark reality to create the Sagittarian endeavors of religion, science, and grand philosophies of beingness, that exist outside the realm of the natural world.

This is the time of year when we move our activities indoors, creating more time to contemplate the deeper meaning of life. Most of us live over-committed, complicated lives, with guilt and/or income-generation as our primary motivator. Though we have precious little time in our current incarnation, it is still hard to say no to work, family or group activities that we don't find personally meaningful. There are so many "shoulds" planning our daily schedule. This is the New Moon to work on the shoulds and guilt trips that keep us from questioning what we are expected to do.

Sagittarius demands that each of us consider the profound impact of focusing our energies only on activities that enliven our search for deeper meaning. The grand trine between Sun/Moon (self identity and emotional needs) in Sagittarius (faith, hope, inspiration, meaning, joy) Saturn (responsibility) in Leo (creative self-expression) and North Node (our growing edge) in Aries (adventure, spontaneity, fun, childlike wonder), can heighten our ability to find our true calling: that which finds its source in inspiration, gifting and joyfulness. Think of your job. For many people, the work they do for money is not the work they do for spiritual enlivenment. We are told from a young age that we cannot support ourselves doing work we love, especially if that work is artistic and/or spiritual. This is a great day to do ritual about revisioning your beliefs about work. Use this time to reconsider how to be generous with your time and love, while figuring out a way to fill your life with work and activities that feed your spirit.

This means turning off your TV and tuning into the broadcast channel of existence. This particular part of the Sagittarian spectrum is all about questioning, postulating, and reaching for universal truths that exist outside the boundaries of spiritual/academic dogma and rhetoric. Isn't it interesting that over on the other end of the Sagittarian spectrum are the religious, political, economic, and educational institutions telling us what to believe, what to think, what to do and how to act. This is the paradox of Sagittarius: it seeks meaning, finds what it thinks is the truth, institutionalizes that truth for the masses, and then uses all its energy to stop adherents from searching for deeper truth and meaning.

This is the New Moon to revolt against the controlling, small-minded institutional part of the Sagittarian spectrum. This New Moon in Sagittarius energizes our quest for real knowledge and truth. With Pluto/Sun/Moon in Sagittarius and Jupiter/Mercury in Scorpio we have an invitation to strip away denial and honestly look at our own shadow side from a depth psychological perspective. Look at what you hate outside of yourself, and then look within to find where it lives within you. That is your shadow; the projection onto external reality of the darkness that lives within you. Remind yourself that you have the power to find your own truth, by looking inward with a truthful eye. Pluto/Moon in Sagittarius and Mercury/Jupiter in Scorpio help us to be more intuitive and brutally honest in our search for spirit. Find out what house Sagittarius rules in your own natal chart and you will know what part of your beliefs need to be overhauled on this New Moon.

Truth and meaning don't live somewhere far away. It is not in heaven, it is not in the words of some channeler, it is not in your guru, it is not in your church, it is not in your school, it is not in your therapist, it is not in your psychic, tarot card reader or astrologer, it is not in your government, it is not in your guides, angels, or other disembodied entities you have chosen to give away your power. The Earth is speaking to you, every minute of every day! The answers you seek are in the wind, the movement of the waves, in the activity in a bee hive or an ant hill, in the intelligence that moves the stars and planets, in the storms and earthquakes, in the songs of birds, in the howl of a wolf, in the grace of a deer, in the smile of your child/spouse/parent/friend, in the sensual embrace of your lover, in the flowing water of a river, in the shape of a cloud, in the cosmic music of the shimmering particles and waves that make up our universe! Go outside, be in nature and tune in to the teachings of Mother Earth. Get your ego out of spirit's way and open yourself to listening deeply to the existent wisdom of our world. Accepting the animal part of humanity as a source of knowledge will help bring harmony, peace and generosity back to our deadened species. This is why Sagittarius is a Centaur: half animal, half human. Think about it, it will make sense to you!

Vastu offers you the potential to receive guidance from the source of universal abundance by creating a microcosm of the universe within your personal environment. In this way, by aligning yourself with the source of all abundance, you will find it becomes much easier to manifest your dreams of a fulfilling and prosperous life.

Just as the earth manifests forces composed of the five elements, so does the human brain. Your brain and body are electrical energy conductors. The thalamus is the relay center for all the sensory and motor activities that occur in the brain. Neurological research shows that the firing patterns of the neurons in the thalamus function differently when you are facing different directions. Your mind, then, can be considered the interactive result of the earth's magnetic field on your brain cells. You are like an energetic tuning fork! You work best when you're in harmony with your environment. If you place your body in alignment with the magnetic axis, you will think and act more in tune with nature. It will feel as though you're flowing along with the current of a stream instead of struggling to swim against the flow.

Your success is directly related to the orientation and shape of your environment. Whether the space in question is an apartment, a home, an office building, or a single office within a larger building, the east and north directions exert important, beneficial influences on the inhabitants. Structures that are oriented to the east receive positive solar influences. Those oriented to the north gain positive magnetic influences. In order for you to experience their blessings of prosperity and abundance, creativity and productivity, the abundant energies from these two directions must enter an environment without obstruction. If these beneficial energies are blocked, you will experience setbacks and frustrations, and you will use up more energy than necessary to create the life you desire.

In a square or rectangular structure, the five elements enhance and support your life at an optimum level. An irregularly shaped structure, on the other hand, interrupts their natural flow. When the five elements are not free to circulate properly, their energies get stuck and create stress in the environment. This is similar to a river that winds in so many directions that the water gets trapped in eddies, becomes stagnant, and moves slowly. According to one of the premises of Einstein's Kinetic Theory of Matter, atoms move in a straight line and are always in motion. This motion is facilitated by a square or rectangular shape.

During the end of the year the time is right for the festive activities. Venus moving to Saturnine house will help the karmic endeavors of human beings to bestow them with luxuries of life. Saturn-Mars aspect to each other is not good for leaders. There will not be any problems though because of Jupiter's benign aspect on Aries. Sun again moves to its position at the beginning of the year which signifies good spiritual progress again. Mercury also occupies it in Sagittarius therefore clear intelligence and communication. Venus retrograding in Capricorn under direct aspect of Saturn will create less luxurious attitude towards and selfless karma to plunge into the New Year with our sinless karmic endeavor. We will then get into another New Year that will see more of karmic activity though nodes will keep creating spiritual interest in people. We will see better living conditions with less crimes and selfless missions helping and reaching out to people…

More importantly, Retrograde Mars clashes with, squares, Saturn at 2:32 P.M. this afternoon. This marker lowers our energy level, increases the sense of negativity and frustration we see around us and often leads to accidents, breakdowns and violence. And especially now that Mercury is also Retrograde. Stick to routine today and stay out of the dentist’s chair. Call in sick if you are a substitute teacher. And stay out of the line of fire. A clearing trend begins at sundown as the square begins to fade and the Moon travels on to trine easygoing Jupiter at 11:36 P.M. And then trine Uranus a few hours later. All’s well that ends well?

'As above, so below' isn't just a clever sound bite. It's also an apt description of how the universe works. So when cosmic giants square off -- the planets, that is -- it's a given that events here on Earth may also be a bit trickier to navigate. When those giants just happen to be Mars, the ancient god of war, and Saturn, the ruler of military seriousness, it's also a given that any argument, no matter how petty the trigger, could easily turn into a war. A long-lasting war. A well-buried tiff that began last August could come to the surface again now. Deal with any disagreements -- old or new -- honestly, immediately and bluntly. It's the only way to get them gone for good. And as you know, that's what's got to happen.

Life Lessons Through Reincarnation

You meet someone for the first time and feel as if you know them already. You're in a town that you've never been to before, yet you recognize streets and buildings. You start playing a new sport and amaze everyone, including yourself, at your natural abilities and intuitive knowing of the rules. We often describe such experiences as déjà vu: the experience or feeling that a new situation has happened to us before. Then again, the possibility does exist that we have actually lived these experiences in the past or, rather, in another lifetime.

Many spiritual practices believe that reincarnation is real: Our souls return to this earth over a series of lifetimes to evolve, learn, grow, transform, and become more spiritually attuned through the course of each life. When we reincarnate, it is believed that we tend to cycle through our different lives with many of the same people. Often these traveling "soul" companions are the ones we enter into relationships with; we work through our unresolved issues together so that we may heal. When we struggle or keep encountering blocks that keep us from reaching our goals, there may be a specific lesson that we are supposed to learn in this lifetime. Being naturally blessed with a musical talent or another gift can be a special ability that you worked hard to develop in a past life. You may even have lived before as another gender or as part of a different social or economic class. Each lifetime brings with it specific lessons that are necessary for our spiritual evolution.
Past life recall can give us valuable insights into our past, present, and future lives. The knowledge of how we lived before can help us overcome present obstacles, understand phobias, and resolve relationship issues. There are workshops you can take to learn about past lives, and past life regression therapists can guide you on your journey backward in time. You can learn to visit your past lives through your dreams, meditation, and trance work. It is even possible to see full scenes of a former lifetime flash before you in your mind's eye as if you were watching a movie. While looking back at your past lives can be exciting and enlightening, it is important to remember that the answers you are seeking to this life can only truly be found by living this one. Look to your past to see where you've been, but remember that the life that matters most is the one that you are living now.

Venus and Mars are the most famous lovers in the heavens, so when they get together, we all feel the need to act out the ardor they're known for. When they're wearing earth signs, however, (as they are at the moment) it's not momentary passion we're after -- it's permanence. In their current positions, these heavenly lovers endow one and all with the patience and tolerance necessary to make a relationship work, even if it means overcoming some hurdles and extending or accepting some apologies in the process. If a loved one approaches you with a rather contrite expression on their face, don't think about your pride. Consider what's really important in the long run.
