Hi Everyone,
I am new to Tribe and I must say that I am really enjoying my experience :) I read a previous posting and the caption was Why Be Naked??? When I read it I was surprised to find a woman 1) labeling people she does not know as Freaks because they enjoy the natural self, 2) she also wanted to change a man because he likes being au natural...I think that labeling and stereotyping is wrong on all kinds of levels but trying to change a person is even more wrong...I can't help but wonder was this mans free spirit part of what attracted this woman to him? If so then why try and change it? Being in a relationship does not mean you have to sacrifice who you are by any means....I mean yes there are sacrifices and compromises but not at the risk of who we are.....It's about growing as a individual, growing together, etc.....it's clearly not about trying to change a person for another person hang ups, or prudish ways....I think that a person should not knock what they don't know or are not willing to try.....I think the question should be "Why Be Naked"??? I have many answers for that.....The body is beautiful (doesn't matter what shape or size), it's freedom, it's natural, it's exhilerating, it's who we really are unmasked etc......I mean think about it we came into this world naked, we are naked when we shower, when we have sex, etc......I don't think the problem is with nakedness itself rather it is peoples views of it which is a shame.... To my fellow nudists kudos, to those trying to change us try it you might like it and if your not willing to explore your au natural state then don't be foolish and judge, label, etc on something you know nothing about and are not willing to try.....Im sorry but that post struck a nerve with me....
Bright Blessings and Peace :)

Sat, August 1, 2009 - 8:00 PMThe most one can do is be respectful of others' feelings, and hope they are respectful of yours. If they're not, then to hell with them! :) -

Sun, August 2, 2009 - 12:18 AMWhat else can you do, besides say "I am sorry, this is who I am"? "Not much!" is the answer. -

Sun, August 2, 2009 - 12:53 AMI guess for me I have became a little harsh because I have been where that guy was more than once so what I usually say (politely) " this is me this is who I am and I have learned over the years that I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for what I'm not" :) maybe that way is wrong but it seems to work once I adopted that and the response is more positive.....and they seem to respect me more :) go figure :) -

Re: Why Be Naked ??? (previous posting) The Question Should Be...Why Not Be Naked ???
Sun, August 2, 2009 - 1:01 AMI can relate, having been there. At some point, one has to be their self, and not worry or fret over some other's view of things. Easier said then done, certainly! but better said than contained, definitely... If one cannot handle the Real, then they cannot handle anything... -

Re: Why Be Naked ??? (previous posting) The Question Should Be...Why Not Be Naked ???
Sun, August 2, 2009 - 1:29 AMI had to learn early on as a child to be my real self and to respect others views.....I am a hereditary witch/pagan, nudist, free spirit, etc and well though I was raised in such manners people have judged me, tried to change me, etc....but ultimately I am who I am.......but I am also willing to compromise....I guess society views me as not mainstream if you will and well I will never conform to what society thinks I should be because then I would be sacrificing myself who I am -

Re: Why Be Naked ??? (previous posting) The Question Should Be...Why Not Be Naked ???
Sun, August 2, 2009 - 2:38 AMWell I have to put my 2 cents in on this subject. Being a nudist Pagan myself and living in the Southern Baptist Bible Belt I have had my share of those who have tried to change me, those who have condemned me, those who have just walked away because of my beliefs and lifestyle. I am me and will not change just to please another person, whether it is for friendship or for a relationship. I tried that in order to keep a person in love with me only to find that I was miserable. I am still paying for my actions today. Unfortunately our society hasn't gotten the perspective of what a nudist is truly about, what a Pagan witch truly is - they are hung up on the ideals placed in their minds at young age by our organized socially acceptable religions. I am me - a Old Hippie Native American Pagan Nudist. Defiantely not the poster child for the mainstream.
I agree - WHY NOT BE NAKED!
