Hello! We are new to this group and found it while doing research on nalbinding. We were asked to make some nalbinding needles for a customer and had never heard of this fascinating fiber art. This group has so much helpful info!

Re: Nalbinding Needles
Tue, May 20, 2008 - 3:14 AMWelcome to the group. i'm glad it is useful to you.
My husband started making different nalbinding needles. He tried horn and bone. But he rather works with wood.
So now I've got a big exotic collection of all sorts of weird wooden nalbinding needles. From oak to maple to cherry , bloodwood, and all sort of tropical hardwoods. That looks nifty.
But my favourite is still my horn needle I got in Norway.

Re: Nalbinging Needles
Tue, May 20, 2008 - 3:30 AMMaybe we can post some more about the needles itself.
What makes a good nalbinding needle for me:
- blunt tip
- about 3 inch long
- big eye
- flat
- not too wide. ( no more then 1 cm)
