I'm sorry to report that Jeff Houston has now confirmed the Tahoe cabin we stayed in during Valhalla the last two years and while recording "Walk in the Woods" has been destroyed by the Angora Fire that is still burning up there. Of the 29 homes in the immediate vicinity, seven were salvaged while 22 burned.
I will pass on messages to Jeff from those of you who care to express yourselves on this topic.

Re: Bad news from Lake Tahoe
Mon, June 25, 2007 - 5:57 PMMy personal concern in this was for Quint as in Sir Quint of Richardson Woods. Many of you know that he owns the horse stables right next door to the Tahoe site. He is a third generation cowboy from up there. As of this morning he had evacuated his home and he had evacuated 90% of the horses and equipment in the stables. Can you imagine trying to evacuate a couple hundred horses? Thank God he had the chance to do that. Right now he was waiting to see if his house gets hit. Its been a couple of tough dark days in our community. My prayers and best wishes go out to all.
Molly

Mon, June 25, 2007 - 6:43 PMI was stunned when I got the news. Losing Jeff's house is almost like losing a friend. I know we all have so many good memories from our time there. -

Re: Bad news from Lake Tahoe
Tue, June 26, 2007 - 10:52 AMBooo hooo. We should try and help him replace that lovely lamp in the living room we were so fond of. We can also help him plant some new trees when the time comes for him to rebuild. The forest service will probably give them away for free. Though he may not want any after this!

Tue, June 26, 2007 - 6:17 AMAll I know is that it was her own doing, and the paramedics had to tear her out of Lester's arms.
He's pretty torn up about it, as you can imagine. -
