Hi all!
We had our first 2008 meeting of the Bellybuttons today at Jumpin' Juice n' Java in Gardner! We had a really great turnout of interested dancers, and here are a few highlights of interest from the meeting!
1) Our co-Coordinator, Ritza, has written a press release to send out to our various newspapers and magazines to let dancers out there know that we exist! Hopefully this will help create interest in the NBDA and therefore, more participating members!
2) It's been requested that we create a tribe.net tribe in order to keep tribe enthusiasts abreast of the goings on of the Bellybuttons. That was created today! Yahoogroups will remain as the main list for information and discussion, however.
3) We are going to participate as a chapter in Winchendon's Sumemr Solstice celebration - with about a 45min - 1 hour performance set - which will be a teaser for our upcoming showcase in October!
4) We've agreed on a date for our chapter showcase - Saturday, October 25th. It will be an autumn/Halloween themed showcase at the "Old Murdock" in Winchendon and will consist of a few workshops, some yummy food, and wonderful performances! We're looking for a name for the showcase so please post your suggestions!!
5) Next meeting will be at Wexford Village in Worcester in March - most likely March 16th.
