Hello Lovely Dancers! I'm SO FREAKIN EXCITED! My boss is sending me to Berlin Mid-May after that my sweetie and I are going to Prague for 5 days.

I'll be working at a Trademark convention during the day but in the evenings I'm free and I would love to take a class or two and see a show or two. I'll be watching this tribe for events while I'm there and I would love suggestions (for BD related things as well as general must-see stuff for the first time visitor).

Carolena and Megha will be teaching for 3 days, more than 13 hrs during Gathering of The Tribes event in August, 2-4.

The goal of the event is to get tribal dancers from all over the Europe together, share their love for this danceform and create new contacts. Why not just to group together, combine the yearly vacation with a great possibility to dance with Megha and Carolena in "exotic" country like Finland?

The price of the WS is 200 euro - that makes about 15 euro/hour. Or the whole package including training and accommodation for 4 nights in the beautiful environment close to lake, including breakfasts, transportation to the place where the classes are held - and back, only 470 euro. Being comparing the prices I can say it's far more cheaper than any event around this topic in Europe this year. Workshop prices are normally around 20 euro/ hour and accommodation with workshops for the 4 nights can be 769 euro this very day. Don't forget the the bonus each can reach - additional free workshop for the group of 11. Use it to reduce the price from each or to get your own for free.

Good news is that this leaves a lot of space for travelling expenses - and if you can use Ryanair you can even get your flight with the pocket money. Check their site if they have an airport close to you: www.ryanair.com

Ask also group prices from your flight company - they might give some discount as well.

WS 2: Flamenco Flavoured Fusion - 3 h
10-13 Uhr, 50,- EUR
Nach dem großen Erfolg des ersten Workshops kommt nun die Fortsetzung.
Tjarda erarbeitet mit Euch neue Flamencobewegungen die in jede Art von
Tribal Fusion Bellydance harmonisch einfließen können. Alle Bewegungen
werden genau aufgeschlüsselt und geübt um Flexibilität und Kräftigung
der Muskulatur zu erreichen und dem schönen, kraftvollen
Flamenco-Ausdruck ein Stück näher zu kommen. Olé!

WS 3 : Oldschool Hip Hop Fusion - 2 h
15-17 Uhr, 35,- EUR
Tjarda erstellte ihre ersten Choreographien bereits als Teenager im Hip
Hop Style. In diesem Workshop unterrichtet Tjarda typische
Basisbewegungen wie Floating, Gliding und Sliding. Als Sahnehäubchen
gibt es eine brandneue Fusion Kombination mit Hip Hop Elementen, Pops
und Locks.

This is a hand made costume. Both bra and belt are lined. The bra is very sturdy will hold it's shape well.The bra will fit a 36-38 B/C. This costume will work great for new students, hobbyist class recitals, parties, Goth night, belly fusion, photos, and performances.
This is an original one of a kind costume.

The bra will fit a 36-38 B/C. The bra cups are covered in a blue velvet panne' fabric. The bra is trimmed in a brown gimp trim about an inch wide, with a navy blue border. Beneath the trim is a belled and coined chain. At the center of the bra is an O-ring with a chain with bells attached. The side panels and the straps are made from the same fabric that covers the bra cups. The bra ties across the back kris- cross with D-rings. the bra straps are 48 inches long.

The belt is cover in the same fabric as the bra.This belt will fit a M-L(about up to a 14 in pant size and can be shortened) . The belt also has also has the same brown trim with the navy blue border. The belt is 37 inches long not including the tie ends. The tie ends are 18 inches long. The belt can be shortened if needed before it is shipped.The belt also has 3 Afghani pendants on it . 2 small silver ones and one large multi colored one at the center in the back. The ribbon fringe is made up of various yarns, lace, gimp trim and ribbon in various colors of blues and browns. On each side of the belt is there are silver belled and coined chain for sound and movement.
As stated before this is a one of a kind of original piece of wearable art

I would recommend feedback and some thoughts on new stock colours. I am stocking black, gold and wine in the tie front style but there are 18 colours available altogether. Does anyone prefer pastels?

Geneva will be back in Germany this year.
I'm happy to get a workshop location near Munich for 2 or 3 great workshops with Geneva and a Studio Show on Saturday night.

We didn't talk about what she will teach, but everyone who had a workshop with her knows, that it will be great anyway.

blue and brown tribal bra and belt

This is a hand made costume. Both bra and belt are lined. The bra is very sturdy will hold it's shape well.The bra will fit a 36-38 B/C. This costume will work great for new students, hobbyist class recitals, parties, Goth night, belly fusion, photos, and performances.
This is an original one of a kind costume.

The bra will fit a 36-38 B/C. The bra cups are covered in a blue velvet panne' fabric. The bra is trimmed in a brown gimp trim about an inch wide, with a navy blue border. Beneath the trim is a belled and coined chain. At the center of the bra is an O-ring with a chain with bells attached. The side panels and the straps are made from the same fabric that covers the bra cups. The bra ties across the back kris- cross with D-rings. the bra straps are 48 inches long.

The belt is cover in the same fabric as the bra.This belt will fit a M-L(about up to a 14 in pant size and can be shortened) . The belt also has also has the same brown trim with the navy blue border. The belt is 37 inches long not including the tie ends. The tie ends are 18 inches long. The belt can be shortened if needed before it is shipped.The belt also has 3 Afghani pendants on it . 2 small silver ones and one large multi colored one at the center in the back. The ribbon fringe is made up of various yarns, lace, gimp trim and ribbon in various colors of blues and browns. On each side of the belt is there are silver belled and coined chain for sound and movement.
As stated before this is a one of a kind of original piece of wearable art

Alle Bewegungen werden genau aufgeschlüsselt und geübt um Flexibilität und Kräftigung der Muskulatur zu erreichen und dem schönen, kraftvollen Flamenco-Ausdruck ein Stück näher zu kommen. Olé!

WS 2 : 100% Uzumé, 15-17 Uhr, 35,- €
Durch ihre tänzerische Vorbildung in gleich mehreren verschiedenen Tanzstilen hat Tjarda ihren ganz eigenen Ansatz in Sachen Tribal Fusion. About Tjarda:
Tjarda is a powerful and dynamic dancer with an unique approach to bellydance. In 2005 she became a founding member and choreographer of The Uzumé. Because of her mesmerizing performances, which consist of choreographies and freestyle, she is now collaborating with a lot of different DJ's and dance-events. Suhaila to the Netherlands

Hi grils,

Well, as a big fan of the Suhaila technique I am concidering to bring this great teacher over.

I did not do all the math yet but I am guessing that a weekend (15 hours of teaching) would come to cost 300 euro's and a weeklong (30 hours perhaps with optional testing would cost 550 euro's).

Would you be interested in taking this workshop?? Elaborate answers welcome, this is always very helpfull!

The workshop would ofcourse focus on her technique and be stylization free! A lot of hard work and inspiration guaranteed ;)

Je vous annonce une invitation unique de participer dans une tradition parisienne: Le Carnaval de Paris 2008: "La Jungle urbaine"
C'est DIMANCHE, le 3 février de 15h-19h.
Je cherche au moins 4 danseuses orientales de plus, mais j'aimerais vraiment avoir le plus que possible (si j'avais 10, je serais ravie!!!) Ni le niveau ni le style est importante! On dansera avec un groupe de fanfare.
Je pense que c'est vraiment une occasion qu'il faut pas rater! On a la chance de présenter à Paris ce que nous faisons --en particulier pour les danseuses des styles moins connus comme ATS ou tribal-fusion.

Announcing an invitation to participate in a Parisian tradition: Le Carnaval de Paris 2008: "La Jungle urbaine"
It's THIS SUNDAY, February 3rd from 15h-19h.
I'm looking for at least 4 more belly dancers, but I would really love to have as many as possible (if I could have 10, I would be ecstatic!) Neither level nor style is important! We will be dancing to live fanfare-style music.
I think this is really an occasion that shouldn't be missed! We have the chance to present to Paris what we do --especially for the dancers of lesser known styles such as ATS and tribal-fusion.

CATT - Certified Academic Teacher's Training

Starting in February 2008 Beata and Horacio Cifuentes will offer a certified training for teachers that is also of interest for dancers who just look for a thorough and complete education.

CATT is a 2-year programme in four parts with about 70 hours per term.

From the basic elements for beginners to artistically advanced classes, they will explain their concept - a result of many years of training, research and teaching.

For certain subjects guest teachers from around the world will contribute a special insight.

° WORKSHOP CONTENTS:

- 27 januari : Technique and Layering
This workshop will focus on muscular technique of some Tribal Fusion moves

- 16 march : Contemporary Fusion with a little Tango Touch
Tjarda will be incorporating a touch of her Tango and Contemporary dance
background into a fun and dramatic Tribal Fusion combo. She will be teaching
some Tango floor patterns, leg drags and kicks and will show you how to use
Contemporary dance elements and influences.

- 13 april : Create your own Fusion
Tribal Fusion Bellydance is an evolving dance form and is not to be put in
a definitive style. Every dancer/troupe can express themselves within this
world of Bellydance. As the choreographer of The Uzumé, Tjarda will show you
with easy tips & tricks how to create your own unique combo's to step
outside any genre and look for new fusion ideas.

- 4 mei : Oldschool HipHop Fusion
Tjarda made her first choreography when she was a teenager in HipHop-style,
which she has learnt from the boys in the clubs and on the streets. In this
workshop you will not only learn the basic steps of floating, gliding and
sliding, but you will also go home with a cool new Fusion combo with HipHop
elements such as popping 'n locking.

- 8 june : Create your own Fusion

WS 1: Flamenco Flavoured Fusion, 10-13 Uhr, 50,- €
Tjarda erarbeitet mit Euch echte Flamencobewegungen die in jede Art von Tribal Fusion Bellydance harmonisch einfließen können. Alle Bewegungen werden genau aufgeschlüsselt und geübt um Flexibilität und Kräftigung der Muskulatur zu erreichen und dem schönen, kraftvollen Flamenco-Ausdruck ein Stück näher zu kommen. Olé!

WS 2 : 100% Uzumé, 15-17 Uhr, 35,- €
Durch ihre tänzerische Vorbildung in gleich mehreren verschiedenen Tanzstilen hat Tjarda ihren ganz eigenen Ansatz in Sachen Tribal Fusion. About Tjarda:
Tjarda is a powerful and dynamic dancer with an unique approach to bellydance. In 2005 she became a founding member and choreographer of The Uzumé. Because of her mesmerizing performances, which consist of choreographies and freestyle, she is now collaborating with a lot of different DJ's and dance-events. Next to her exploration of middle eastern dance Tjarda also studied numerous and varied dance genres from ballet to flamenco to mime as well as dance therapy and improvised movement which made her step outside the genre of traditional middle eastern dance and look into these other dance forms for fusion ideas. My name is Teresa Phillips and I am the Director of Tsingani, a Tribal Fusion Troupe in California. I have been dancing and teaching for 9 years in the Tribal Style and for the past 2 years my dance partner and I have been performing in the Tribal Fusion style.

Est-ce qu'il y a quelqu'un qui s'interesse a former un tribe a Paris? Je sais que c'est difficile a trouver des studios qui enseinger le style tribal, mais j'ai suivi des cours de tribal aux etats-unis et ca me manque. S'il y a quelqu'un qui s'interresse, je peux ensiegner ce que je sais, et nous pouvons creer nos propres "cues," etc.

Sorry for my terrible French! If there's anyone in Paris interested in forming a tribe, I'd love to do it! I took tribal in the states and while I'm not an expert, I know the basics and have been performing tribal for a bit. I can teach you what I know, and we can create our own moves and cues (plus borrow some from whatever instructional videos we have).

To get in contact with other european tribes we are organizing a meeting at castle Drosendorf in Austria from Friday, 30th of May to Sunday 1st of June 2008. There are going to be workshops with Bri Hurley (American Tribal Style), Katjusha Kozubek (Gypsy Dance) and Nicole Janß (Drumming).
