Ayperi - Delicious pauses - Negative Space in Movement -
The often overlooked element of stillness in dance adds texture and surprise to a performance. As in all visual arts, negative space must be consciously utilized. When melded with your music, those pauses, --sudden and brief or gooey as taffy-- keep you audience on the edge of their seats. Plus you photographer will love you! Join Ayperi for an exploration of negative space movement.
Lorien - How to breathe life into your veil
Adira - Balanced Bellydance - Being able to balance things on your body and dance at the same time is fun and a crowd pleaser. There are a few things that will help you hone this skill. Attention to core strength, good posture, as well as some tips on prop selection will have you balancing things all over the place in no time. Please bring a sword, tray, hard cover book, or anything else you might like to balance.
Helena - lusciously languorous liquid movement
Aepril - Arms and Hands in Dark Fusion Bellydance - Eerie Serpents and Ethereal Grace: Learn to achieve dramatically expressive and "bonelessly" undulating hands and arms via moving meditation, drills, and visualization. Suitable for all levels of dance experience.
Karina Kahn - So much can be expressed through eyes.

Ayperi - www.RaqsAyperi.com - Ayperi is a performer and teacher in southern Maine. Attracted to the combination of joy inherent to belly dance a challenging technique and a whole world of music, Ayperi fell headlong into belly dance. Her delight at finding her true dance love was enhanced by a long break from her childhood obsession, ballet, due to a teenage injury while she studied visual arts and dance at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Ayperi’s dance education is comprised of regular local classes with belly dance mavens, Jamileh, Josie conte, emma Holder, and Jessica Means, and workshop attendance farther afeild. Workshop Highlights include a recent weeklong seminar with Morocco in NYC, and workshops in Maine and Boston with Mira Betz, Artemis Mourat, Suhaila Salimpour, Bozenka and Nourhan Sharif.
Aepril Schaile - www.aeprilschaile.com/bellydance.htm - Working through the ancient, and ever-evolving, art of Bellydance, Aepril Schaile becomes Trickster, Warrior, Ghost, Storm, Grieving Mother, Killer, Seductress...Aepril's performances invoke the archetypal Feminine creatively, shamanistically, theatrically, and compellingly. With a background in theater and mythology, Aepril's creativity and style of movement incline naturally toward exploring mythic themes and infusing meaning and story into her dance. Beginning with Raks Sharqi/Cabaret as her foundation in 1996, she brings Raqs Gothique and Tribal fusion bellydance, modern, interpretive, and ballet to her dance as well. Aepril's performances have taken place at such diverse venues as goth clubs, weddings, homeless shelters, heavy metal shows, as well as theaters and festivals; she has performed at events on both coasts of the US; a tour of Europe is in the works. Aepril teaches classes in Portland ME, and offers workshops. She directs the Exquiste Corpse project, a theatrical/gothique/experimental event. Aepril holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art.
