I realize that the title may stereotype this group as belonging to gamers and for that I apologize. I'm currently writing a 1000 word synopsis and 500 word writing sample for the Black Library's latest short story competition. If my synopsis and writing sample make it past the first round then I will have a month or two to draft a 7000 word manuscript and the finalists will be published in the next anthology alongside Dan Abnett and others. I am very excited about the competition, unfortunately I only just found out about it and the submission is due by midnight on the 28th of February. Yes, that's tomorrow. The bad news is that I am fairly certain they mean midnight London time so I really need to be done by noon and I can't take tomorrow off work. Ah the all nighter, such friendly college memories. I'll be red-eyed for Dahlia tomorrow.
