From Donna Cunningham
THE OUTERPLANETS AND INNERLIFE,VOLUME 1: THE CAREER PATH OF THE EXCEPTIONAL SOUL
"Astrologically, the charts of exceptional souls tend to have the outer planets—Uranus,
Neptune, and Pluto—and the signs those planets rule—Aquarius, Pisces, and Scorpio—
strongly featured. The Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Midheaven might be connected with
those planets or signs, or those planets might have many aspects, or be in a major
configuration like a T-square, Grand Cross, or Grand Trine. When more than one of the
outer planets is strong, astrologers may use the term Outer Planet Person—and, no, it
doesn’t mean you come from outer space, though you may sometimes wonder whether
you did. "
Prominent Outer Planet energy:
Sun,Moon,Ascendant,or Midheaven conjunct, square, trine,or opposite outer planet.
(Donna Cunningham doesn't include the sextile, but I would make an exception for the Ascendant,Midheaven. After all an object sextile to an angle means that it's trine the opposite angle)
(I would also add the parallel, contraparallel in regards to being connection to the Sun,Moon,Ascendant,Midheaven and/or being part of part of configuration of 3 or more planets.)
"Outer Planet People”—From Outer Space to the Rat Race?
The term Outer Planet People does not refer to aliens from another planet, although these people often feel that they must be from outer space, since they do not fit easily onto this earth. The true Outer Planet Person, familiarly called an OPP, has a mixture of two or more of these planets or signs highlighted in the birth chart.
OPPs are exceptional individuals and not usually meant for mainstream careers,so their curriculum vita is anything but linear. Outer Planet People present special challenges when it comes to finding a life work or settling for a mainstream career. Their perspectives, interests, and needs are not well served by working in a bank. Even more than those with a single outer planet highlighted, OPPs often "meander" until midlife, trying out various types of work."
"Those planets take a good deal of maturity to handle well, and it often turns out that OPPs haven't lost time after all, because the skills and experiences gained from this mixture of experiences help them understand the difficulties other people face. An
astrologer, for instance, who has spent time in sales, as a receptionist in a doctor’s office, and finally as a stay-at-home Mom can bring all those experiences to bear in client sessions. Drawing on this diverse background, that astrologer could relate to and give
knowledgeable insight to clients who are in sales, those in the health fields, and young mothers trying to adjust to their roles.
OPPs often have a sense of destiny about their careers. They are likely to regard their vocation as a CALLING in the old fashioned sense of the word—not as something that they chose, but as something that chose them. They are otherworldly rather than
worldly, visionary rather than practical. They might wind up in nontraditional careers like motivational speakers, New Age practitioners, creative artists, or political or environmental activists. Our society does not tend to validate or reward the callings suggested by the outer planets. Thus, the person with outer
planets in the 10th house is often forced to earn a living through the 2nd house and the skills shown there.
To the outside observer, the career of an OPP seems less like a path than a lane that wanders all over the place. OPPs typically meander for years on the road to a true career, with many apparent false starts. Often people who have these placements don’t come into their own until midlife, when those planets by transit planets form aspects to their natal positions. Still, the meandering path they so often take in their twenties and thirties provides them with valuable skills and life experiences to ground their extraordinary life purposes. I often feel that people whose charts are strong in the outer planets need a lot of seasoning before these planets can be used at their best.
As a consequence, however, many OPPs wonder why they are not as well established as their contemporaries and consider themselves failures. People whose opinions matter—family, friends, mate, peers, even their community as a whole—may share this opinion and reinforce it, creating low-self esteem, guilt, and a heavy load of alienation. Their apparent failure is especially puzzling since they are often exceptional—brilliant, talented, and full of potential. There are good reasons for this pattern, and it is important that OPPs not judge themselves for not fitting into the mainstream career mold.
First, the outer planets are not ordinary and easy to express, but instead require a great deal of maturity to handle well. Meandering through life and having a variety of experiences is part of the growth and evolution that is required—as though the life
journey were a long pilgrimage through a wilderness. It is easy to lose your way with these planets, and OPPs often do so repeatedly, learning much from these mistakes. We all tend to blunder and fall on our faces when using the outer planets’ energies, but the typical OPP may do so spectacularly, publicly, and even compulsively. Second, the OPP is often a visionary and social critic who entertains ideas our world considers strange or even dangerous. When that outer planet is well-featured, having excellent aspects, the OPP may be a trendsetter and innovator who galvanizes a new fashion or social development. Mostly, however, society lags far behind the OPPs visions, moves exceedingly slowly, and does not exactly appreciate the seeming outsider who calls attention to needed changes."
"Generally the OPP is stuck waiting for society to catch up to these visions, so the OPP’s considerable talents can at last be valued. What many OPPs do while they wait for society to catch up is to live on the edge and explore the more destructive expressions of the outer planets, one after another. Neptunians may try out a series of addictions. Plutonians may get caught up in various compulsions, including sexual ones. Uranians may hare about on motorcycles, become a computer hacker, or join some sort of counter culture. Eventually, pursuing paths like these tends to hurt like anything, but they do pass the time in interesting situations. They also offset that painful sense of alienation by bringing one into contact with others of the same planetary persuasion.
Often such paths are a crash course into how NOT to use the outer planets that might otherwise take several lifetimes to master. Many who have learned those lessons gain a sense of self worth and service by helping those who are still struggling to learn
them. As an example, Neptune is often strong in the charts of alcoholics. Alcoholics Anonymous is based on the principle the recovering alcoholic’s salvation comes in part through giving service to those who still suffer from the disease."
"The outer planets’ passages through the
various signs coincide with vast social change.
For some time now, the outer planets have been in what my teacher, Richard Idemon, called the Universal Signs—Sagittarius through Pisces.
These signs have more to do with our ties to the collective than with intensely personal concerns or one-on-one relationships. While Uranus,Neptune, and Pluto have been in these signs, social change has accelerated to a dizzying pace.
Changes or upheavals in one part of the world
cannot help but affect every other part of the world. In the throes of such global change and upheaval, the OPP’s exceptional visions, insights, and abilities will be much needed.
One important time of personal and vocational development for people with the
outer planets strong in their charts is between the ages of 28-30, when transiting Pluto crosses natal Neptune at the same time as the Saturn return and the Progressed Lunar
Return. Over the years, many of my clients nearly self-destructed under this one to two
year transit of Pluto to natal Neptune, especially those with Neptune in intense Scorpio.
For many of them, the transit was a wakeup call in which they bottomed out on the
destructive uses of Pluto and Neptune and started to look for some spiritual answers.
Even the pain of reaching an end point with Neptune can really represent a turning around—similar to alcoholics, who can never be rescued, but instead have to "bottom out." Pluto crossing Neptune can be that bottoming out, when they either ruin themselves, or they start to recover, often experiencing a spiritual awakening or other positive expressions of Neptune. For others who are not using their Neptune in such selfdestructive ways, the turnaround is easier, but this passage calls on them to take a close look at their illusions as well as their pipe dreams. An individual with Neptune in the third was always worried about her sister and brother, who had not done as well as she had. Suffering from survivor’s guilt, she was forever rescuing and enabling them. When Pluto went over Neptune, not only was it a major spiritual awakening, but it was a wakeup call that made her give up rescuing.
Another major developmental phase for the Outer Planet Person is the so-called
midlife crisis, between 38 and 44. Part of the astrological picture at midlife is a series of outer planet aspects by transit to their own natal positions. Transiting Uranus makes an opposition to its natal position in the chart, transiting Neptune squares natal Neptune, and transiting Pluto squares natal Pluto. In the process, the transiting outer planets set off all the aspects the outer planets form in the birth chart, representing an opportunity to learn
how to use those aspects better and to fulfill more of their innate potential. (The exact ages when these aspects occur vary from generation to generation because the orbits of these three planets around the sun are not as regular in shape as the inner planets’ orbits.)
When the outer planets natally are involved with the vocational houses or the
Midheaven, then the midlife crisis is likely to be a major career passage. Sometimes at
this stage, the visions that you always cherished finally match the direction society is taking. Sometimes, even if society hasn’t caught up with your vision, you find yourself impelled to go for it, because life no longer seems worth living if you don’t pursue your dream."

Re: Outer Planet,Kuiper Belt Object - Career Lateblooming
Wed, February 25, 2009 - 8:49 AM
The things that that Donna Cunningham said about Outer Planet People applies to Kuiper Belt People too. I would say even more so. The kuiper belt objects orbit beyond Neptune. I include Pluto because technically it is a kuiper belt object. It is one of thousands of Kuiper Belt objects just like Ceres is one of thousands of Asteroids and Chiron is one of dozens of Centaurs in our solar system.
Other Kuiper Belt objects that I believe should be considered are Eris,Haumea,Makemake,Sedna,Orcus,Quaoar,Varuna,Ixion,
Huya, Chaos which are the big kuiper belt objects.
KBO people are natural nonconformists. The Kuiper belt objects relate to nonconformity. After all, they don't orbit similar to the regular planets. Their orbits are highly eccentric. They orbit well off the ecliptic unlike the regular planets.
Pluto is a kuiper belt object, and so it doesn't have an orbit similar to the regular planets. It has a highly eccentric orbit. It orbits well off the ecliptic unlike the regular planets. Therefore,it's a nonconformist. It would make sense for KBO's to have problems finding the right career for them until they find their calling. It could involve a metaphysical line of work. After all, the kuiper belts orbit beyond not only Saturn (the planet of physical boundaries),but also beyond Neptune (the planet of dissolution of physical boundaries).
Prominent Kuiper Belt energy:
Sun,Moon,Ascendant,or Midheaven conjunct, square, trine,or opposite the Kuiper Belt Object
I left out the sextile just like Donna Cunningham did for prominent Kuiper Belt energy.
the exception is for the angles......after all an object sextile to an angle means that it's trine the opposite angle
sextile Ascendant/trine Descendant
sextile Midheaven/trine Imum Coeli
Only 3 degree orb for Kuiper Belt aspects and that includes Pluto which I consider a Kuiper belt object.
I would also include parallel,contraparallel
In my own chart:
Prominent Ixion:
Sun conjunct Ixion in 2nd - '05 (involves occupational house,2nd)
Moon in 6th trine Ixion - 2'15 (involves occupational house,6th)
Positive - understands karmic wheel, gives and uses a second chance, discerning
Negative - lustful, inconsiderate, inclined to repeat errors, learns nothing from experience
Prominent Quaoar:
Sun conjunct Quaoar in 2nd - 2'58 (involves occupational house,2nd)
Moon in 6th trine Quaoar - '50 (involves occupational house,6th)
Positive - creative, inspiring, possibility oriented, uplifts sagging emotion, strong sense of self
Negative - doom saying, prophet of Armageddon, controls others with fear
Prominent Orcus:
Sun in 2nd contraparallel Orcus - '01 (involves occupational house,2nd)
Positive: a person of one’s word, challenges broken promises, aligned with a spiritual creed, accountable for personal thought, word and deed
Negative: hypocritical, fault finding in the ways of others, blame assigning, ducks responsibility for word and actions, unable to keep promises
Prominent Varuna:
Moon in 6th square Varuna - '09 (involves occupational house,6th)
Neptune oppose Varuna - 1'13
(T-Square)
Positive - sovereign, competent, regulating without force, mastery of all tasks accepted
Negative - incompetent and blaming, laments losses, holds resentment
Prominent Haumea:
Haumea conjunct Ascendant - 2'10
Haumea square Midheaven - '03 (involves occupational house,10th)
Positive: Soulful confidence, an unshakeable personal inner knowing, creative, regenerative. Able to reconstruct, redefine, transform, especially regarding consciousness, willfulness and restoring rock solid integrity. Supportive. Fostering. Fertile. Creative.
Negative : Insecure and attention demanding. Dramatic. Egocentric. A bully disposition. Forces head-on collisions. Claims martyrdom and sacrifice to secure attention. Willing to attach to someone else’s momentum or allowing dependent sorts to attach to one’s efforts for self benefit (using non-paid volunteers, fans, devotees).
Prominent Eris:
Eris sextile Midheaven/trine Imum Coeli - 1'01 (involves occupational house,10th)
Positive - liberation from addictions to success or status, clear priorities regarding matters of love and money, finally getting you can't take it with you and applying full resourcefulness in life, recognition of the potency of one's energy and life force, clear sense of the sacred marriages: spirit to body, self to Creator, between soulful companions, personal sense of emergence.
Negative - greed, workaholism, believe that you must take over for God, general sense of being forsaken, condemned or abandoned, lack of spiritual regard for life, superficial, status oriented.
Right Ascension
(Equatorial Longitude Coordinates that astronomers use to locate celestial objects)
Prominent Sedna:
Sun in 2nd oppose Sedna - '43 (involves occupational house,2nd)
Moon in 6th sextile Sedna - '38 (involves occupational house,6th)
(Wedge)
Positive - a forgiving disposition, discernment, clarity of perception, recognition of free will and choice, responsible, conscious of consequence, far thinking, dharma-oriented, does the homework of life
Negative - victimization, abuse, being deceived, history of betrayal, bitterness, “gold digging” attitude in relationship, transfers blame to others, numbs out, goes unconscious
preliminary keywords for kuiper belt objects from Philip Sedgwick www.philipsedgwick.com/
I can relate to the meandering.
I was in the navy for 7 years as a telecommunications operator including 9 months of broken service (I got out and went back in 9 months because I had a hard time adjusting to civilian life...especially hard time finding a job...I worked on naval computer system, and that was my main training, but nobody else had that system). During the time I was out, I once tried to do marketing program that involved selling knock-off fragrances. I enrolled in school for pharmacy tech, but I ended up dropping the program when the teacher confronted me about having a reading problem which made me feel stupid. I enrolled in the optical program, but I didn't complete it because I didn't finish the procedures even though I passed all my tests, exams with a B average. I got a certificate for Regional Occupational Program center program after being advised by vocational rehab person, and I got my certificate after doing the work and taking the test. I had problems with the program because I couldn't listen well, people were talking too fast for me and I couldn't keep up with them.
I completed a 720 hour massage therapy certificate program, but I haven't got any employment in massage therapy. I have years of unemployment. I have military service connected disability connected to Depression which was changed to Bipolar Diagnosis which is a misdiagnosis.
Now, I realize that my life purpose is to be a neurodiversity advocate, helping my fellow neurodivergents be understood by society. I want to help my fellow neurodivergents who psychiatric misdiagnosed like I was(misdiagnosed Schizoaffective Bipolar Disorder), and I want to help prevent my fellow neurodivergents from being misdiagnosed. I also believe that I was meant to help neurodivergents as an astrologer. I want to help mostly neurodivergent children. I want to help parents understand their children and show them how they can help them develop/use their neurodivergent strengths which many neurotypical people tend to overlook because they focus on their neurodivergent weaknesses too much. Of course, I want to help neurodivergents by giving them information on how to correct their neurodivergent issues by natural means (special education therapies, nutrition, certain exercises). I would like to apply the use of massage therapy as treatment for neurodivergents. I have also been thinking of ideas on how neurotypicals can learn to empathize with neurodivergents, I want to specialize in Neurodivergent Astrology.
Unlike astrologers that approach neurodivergence from the neurotypical perspective by focusing on hard aspects because they see neurodivergence as disorder, I will approach it from the neurodivergent perspective by looking at the overall chart as well as checking out certain harmonics, centaurs, and kuiper belt objects. -

Wed, February 25, 2009 - 11:11 AMI am not familiar with what Donna Cunningham has said about the Kuiper Belt objects. I came across a site which was run, I think, by Kaludio (as in Lotz) in about 2003, where there was a lot of discussion on Varuna and Quaoar. I have heard of Haumea, but Chaos ansd Huya are news to me. When werethey discovered?
As a child, an astrological advocate for neuro-divergent kids might wellhave been a help. -

Donna Cunningham didn't say anything about the Kuiper Belt objects. I was just saying that what she wrote about the outer planet people could apply to the kuiper belt object people and even more so with the kuiper belt objects being more distant and slow moving than the outer planets.
Chaos
19521 Chaos (pronounced /ˈkeɪɒs/, from Greek: Χάος, formerly known as 1998 WH24) is a cubewano, a Kuiper belt object not in resonance with any planet. Chaos was discovered in 1998 by the Deep Ecliptic Survey, with Kitt Peak's 4 m telescope. It is large at about 560 km, and bright at H=4.755. It is named after the primeval state of existence in Greek mythology, from which the first gods appeared.

38628 Huya (pronounced /huːˈjɑː/ hoo-YAH, provisional designation 2000 EB173) is a trans-Neptunian object (TNO). It was discovered in March 2000 by Ignacio Ferrin and announced on 24 October 2000. It is classified as a plutino[1] with a 2:3 mean motion resonance with Neptune. It was assigned the name Huya, after Juyá, the Wayuu rain god, in August 2003 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
At the time of its discovery, Huya was the biggest and brightest TNO yet found. It was found using data collected by at the CIDA Observatory in Venezuela. It is estimated to be about 530 km in diameter.

OK, that makes sense. I did not think she had written anything on that score.
Eric Francis seems to be pionerring some interesting ideas on one or two of these bodies - at least, he certainly is on the centaurs.
The long revolution of bodies like Eris also makes e wonder if there will not be a greater awareness of themore long-term impact of historical events within any given culture. History lessons at school certainly seem to keep old feuds alive most negatively: e are certainly, still feeling the effects of the Industrial Revolution.
I have Eris on the midpoint of IC and SNode - lunar SNode, that is, maybe that is whay I have loked for Eris in theseareas, especially.
No matter what, a planet that can spend 50 yearsa or more in one sigh must have influences that go way beyond 'generational.'

Could go either way (S/N, T/F). I suppose some days, I'm Sensory other days iNtuitive, Thinking and some days Feeling. Different circumstances could bring out a leaning as well.

Re: Outer Planet,Kuiper Belt Object - Career Lateblooming
Wed, March 4, 2009 - 10:26 AMI've been researching information about ISTJ which is what the most recent MBTI indicated. The more I read and check in internally, the more clues seem to click into place.
The last career choice that I really seriously considered was/is accounting though a part of me feels rebellious about going in that direction.
Prior to my stroke a couple of years ago, I worked in various administrative assistant roles, usually in an accounting capacity. A sampling of different jobs I've held as an adult, cashier, office clerk, carpenter's helper, electrician's helper, office volunteer, nanny, packaging clerk, computer technician, massage technician, custodian, data entry (clinical database assistant), office specialist, administrative assistant. None lasted more than a year.
I went back to college a few years ago with the intention of working towards a degree in Nursing or Counseling or even Medical Physician. I tend to think this interest may have been sparked by the marriage I was in at the time, when the marriage ended, I transferred to another school to with the intention of focusing on Hawaiian Language/Hawaiian Culture. I ended up dropping out, when I suddenly started writing reams of poetry, which I now refer to my poetry therapy phase. Coming back to California, I worked through a temp agency as a administrative assistant, primarily at one job site, though with varying departments, the instability of it began to wear on me, even though I was offered several permanent job offers, I must have had a feeling something physical was pending. Just before I was set to become hired with the department I had been working with, the stroke arrived.
One of the first phrases out of my mouth once I was admitted to the hospital was, "what about work, I have to work." Its been a long road since then and for the last couple of semesters I've been slowly getting used to be in college again, though I have yet to decide whether to major in anything. The most significant thing that I notice, is I'm feeling more settled, having lived in one state for 4 years means something to me, even though it hasnt all been in one house or apartment, its made a difference to the creation of stability in my life.
This month I decided to go for career counseling assistance at the college for exploring career/vocational options. Thus far its been a completely different journey than I recall having back in the old days when I was working on my first degree, mayhap is has something to do with having some life experience behind me and life to look forward to today and in the future.

Wed, October 28, 2009 - 8:42 AMOuter Planet People
In the natal horoscopes of many, if not most, people, the outer planets are "asleep". They're only awakened and active in the horoscopes of outer planet people, or those who have these planets dignified or sensitively placed in their natal horoscopes.
To be an outer planet person, one or more of the outer planets must be:
- Conjunct the Ascendant or one of the other cardinal angles of the birthchart, or squaring them;
- Conjunct or aspecting the Sun or Moon, especially by hard aspect;
- Conjunct or aspecting one of the personal or classical planets, especially by hard aspect.
Outer planet people can't escape dealing with the outer planets in their lives, for better or worse. Many of them have special gifts and abilities that are latent, and must be developed.
The Outer Planets and Dysfunctional Families
The outer planets tend to be prominent in the natal horoscopes of those who come from dysfunctional families. The trials and hardships that these people face in their early family lives put special spiritual and evolutionary challenges to them, which are symbolized by the outer planets.
Uranus is prominent in the natal charts of people who were raised in an excessively open, permissive or chaotic family environment, where anything goes, and there were no reassuring guidelines or structure. This puts a special evolutionary challenge to them to find their own inherent guidelines, structure and ethical principles.
Neptune is prominent in the natal charts of those who were raised by alcoholic, codependent, addictive or otherwise out-of-control parents with a poor sense of dignity, self respect and personal boundaries. The challenge to the individual is to find their own intrinsic sense of dignity, self worth and self control.
Pluto isprominent in the natal charts of those whose early family environment was dominated by manipulation, power plays and emotional blackmail. Physical, mental, emotional or sexual abuse was also commonly present. The challenge to the individual is to break down the old walls of fear, shame, guilt and manipulation, and totally transform and rebuild their lives from a new foundation of spiritual power and courage. -

Re: Multiple Intelligences
Yesterday, 11:59 PMi have tuarus rising and libra sun with virgo moon. my ruling planet venus is conjunct pluto in scorpio. my sun mercury mars conjunction is squared my saturn neptune uranus conjunction. pluto is conjunct my descendent. jupiter is in opposition with saturn uranus neptune. moon is trine neptune uranus saturn and sextile jupiter.. ascendent is trine neptune uranus and saturn and sextile jupiter and opposition pluto.recently i found out sedna is conjunct my ascendent by 1 degree and im wondering what kind of affect that has? ive looked up meanings of sedna but i have a feeling i should give it more time.
ive wondered how signs and planet placements and all that stuff affected myer briggs personality types or personlity characteristics in general. im either an INTP or an INFP. my thinking and feeling flucuate sometimes. or its 50/50 between the 2. maybe people with prominant outer planets are prone to be more introverted. idk though its just a guess
