The following is a forwarded email from the Oakland Zoning people about an upcoming workshop/session on Zoning in Oakland. If you live in "hotspot" areas that are the site of live/work reuse of old warehouses, etc.---this is of special interest to you--and really ANYONE in Oakland should know about and understand our zoning issues as they are in the process of changing the zoning in many areas of the city. This will have direct impact on the lives of many of us. Think about attending--take your roomies--learn what is in the works and how you can have input. Don't just sit there while they change the laws that effect where you live--and where you CAN live.

This effects anyone who makes/builds art in these areas in large spaces as well as anyone who wants to see this sort of thing continue--even if you DON'T live in these areas.
