Do they have people ("peer" dominants, or current/ex sub's) who will vouch for them and their ability to be appropriate? Of course, this isn't actually USEFUL to you, unless you have some folks you trust, in the same circles, so you've got some way to tell if the references are reliable (safe players) or flaky/unsafe...

And (imho the most obvious) do they have (or will they fill out for you) a "List"? That is, one of the ubiquitous lists-of-activities floating around BDSM-dom, involving a more or less comprehensive list of everything BDSM-ish, ranked in some fashion indicating both experience with the activities and enjoyment of them.

Do You have enough time to give to a sub/slave and how often would you spend time with me ?

this is very helpful
i may be looking for a top (not a serious dom, but someone to play with)
and since my dom was also my LTR, i never really thought about any of this
