Re: Setlists?
Fri, November 11, 2005 - 4:18 PMthanks. Mostly I asked because I've never been entirely clear about what specific tracks go to what specific label. Is the stuff I'm listening to EBM? Is it Industrial? Is it Rivet? Goth? Metal? I can't tell anymore!!
So, to avoid outing myself like a total n00b (as in the above), I look at playlists ;) -

Hehehehe, just kidding... ;-)
Downstairs is mostly ebm and powernoise, but we try to have a good range of other stuff too from classic Industrial to stuff that almost crosses the line into dark techno/psytrance/whatever. -

Re: Setlists?
Sat, November 12, 2005 - 5:30 PMeh, labels/genres aren't usually all that well-defined anyhow, and most musicians/djs/fans will argue endlessly about what should be classified how. a couple of good resources for getting a sense of the different kinds of industrial music:
the rec.music.industrial faq:
www.faqs.org/faqs/music/...l-faq/part1/
wikipedia on industrial music:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_music
ishkur's guide to electronic music:
www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html (the history of industrial is traced out in the Trance section)
don't hesitate to ask about specific artists or for recommendations :).
