Re: Ninja Reflex
Fri, March 7, 2008 - 10:28 AMI've been very interested, but with Bully and SSBM dropping to close to it's date, I'll have to put it on hold. Let us know what you think of it. -

Re: Ninja Reflex
Sun, March 9, 2008 - 9:27 AMThe game itself is great. It's 6 different mini-games, with various forms for each, to test your reflexes. All of them are ninja-themed, including throwing stars, nunchakus, katana, catching flies with chopsticks, testing your reflexes pressing a button when you see a firefly light up and grabbing moving koi from a pond. I thoroughly enjoy it, as it gets more difficult the harder the belts you earn. I highly reccommend it for some good reflex training fun. -

Mon, March 10, 2008 - 9:34 PMYes, as far as mini-games go, especially with friends over, this game is recommended. I have only played long enough to get my red belt, but its quite fun. -

Re: Ninja Reflex
Tue, March 18, 2008 - 5:38 PMI'm super into it, except that I'm having a hard time getting the side-to-side motion right with the katana. Is there some aspect of it that I'm just completely missing? Seems like you have to jerk it super hard... -

Re: Ninja Reflex
Tue, March 18, 2008 - 11:48 PMI dunno, I myself have had that problem and so has my fiancee. I'm not sure what the trick is to it, but if you figure it out, let me know. It frustrated my woman badly enough that she quit playing for a while. No clue here. -

Wed, March 19, 2008 - 8:43 AMI spent a few minutes searching around on the web, and haven't seen anything. It seems to be a pretty mutual frustration...

Re: Ninja Reflex
Thu, March 20, 2008 - 12:15 AMok, i think i finally figured it out, and have a very sore shoulder to prove it.
the katana is a lot like wii tennis. it's all about the right movement, with the right timing. after i got past the blue (or orange, i forget which) belt, the wiimote icon/helper disappears during the katana tests, and you have to figure out which way to go on you own. if the guy moves his sword left, you jerk left (and it can be a very subtle flick). if he goes up, you go up, if he goes right, you go right. the slash can pretty much be almost any opposite movement after that. and in most of the tests, just blocking counts, so don't worry about the slashing so much as the blocking.
I had to have a couple of beers and really sit down with the game to get it right. it's almost like drinking at a pool hall: your first game sucks, but after a while you hit a sweet spot and can do no wrong; have another beer a half hour later, and your timing is all off...
