I figured since I was putting a call out for somewhere to take belly dance lessons, I might as well put a call out for fire spinners, dancers, performers. I spin fire poi, staff, and play with fire fans and would love to find the weekly/monthly spin jams that must go on in the middle of the desert somewhere. Or maybe one needs to be started? :-)

If a big enough group of people are committed I know of a space at a gallery called verb the people can rent. Place called verb off of constitution. When weather gets better It would be easier to find space.Im always looking for others to play with! -

Tue, February 26, 2008 - 10:50 PMi just got to abq and am all moved in. theodore and i have been spinning our toys in our backyard but are truly in need of friends. we dont know anyone in the area and are both aching for some good friends (especially if they spin fire, belly dance or do yoga!). we both grew up in cold weather climates (him in new york, me in chicago) so the 40 degrees at night doesnt really bother us. however, we have found that right before the sun sets its still very nice, but dark enough to spin. anyone know of any places in the desert we could all meet up and not be bothered? or is everyone pretty against the cold weather completey? either way, if anyone wants to get togher, message me or email me Shoshi.A.S@Gmail.com and we can exchange numbers and meet up. that would be fabulous :-) -
