quiet

It's awfully quiet here for people who have no fucking life. The highlight of my day today will be at 3:00, when I'm going to donate platelets at the Red Cross. You get free cookies and a soda at the end! Woo-Hoo!

    I agree, Andrea.
I woke up an hour ago looking forward to reading about all of my friends shitty lives because mine is so shitty I have nothing better to do.
    Come on people.
Actually, I've been pretty busy lately. I went to a pre-wedding party Friday night and hosted a fun after-party at my house until about 4am. After sleeping away most of Saturday, I went out to dinner (sushi at Sake Lounge) and saw some fun music (psychedelic reggae) at the Cafe. Today I will be lounging on the couch watching football & golf. Come on over.
No cookies here, but I have chips and dip.

The highlight of my weekend so far was checking out the Wildflower Center in Austin with my aunt. Of course it's the dead of winter, so there were no flowers blooming for us to ooo & awe at, but we were mainly there to do some research so we could get a jump on seeding some wildflowers into the meadow-y areas of our 4 acre yard so it will be beautiful this spring & summer. We also chose a beautiful Texas Mountain Laurel tree to plant as a memorial to my uncle. So that's why I was so quiet yesterday. It may not have been as fun as psychedelic reggae, or as selflessly important as donating blood, but it resembles having a fuckin life, so I am happy ;~)

Oh Jeni what a perfect tree you & Ann chose for uncle Ken's memorial! Just the name itself, Texas Mountain Laurel, holds so much of a significance to his life!

        =-)

I can't wait to see it bloom it's first beautiful flowers this spring!!

Yeah, we too thought it was pretty much perfect for good ol' Uncle K. And it's even gorgeous in the middle of January. It starts off kinda small & bushy, but grows up fast & in lots of directions like an our oaks. So do you wanna come help us dig a hole in the limestone? ;~)
