formatting?

topic posted Tue, January 24, 2006 - 12:54 AM by  Sulana
Anyone, who's more computer adept here, figure out their way around this new formatting yet? It says (default view) at the top - implying there's alternatives..... Like, at the very least, is it possible to change the size of the tribe list, or the friends view, the posting activity or anything like that??

I've tried these things. But as I've said before, my computer is funky. So for all I know, its just my computer that's not cooperating, and maybe tribe actually does allow some changing around of the look of things on one's homepage, and I just haven't gotten it to work yet.

So, my #1 question is: has anyone been able to (or even tried!) to change the appearance of their homepage? I have, but to no success. Is it just me, or what am I missing or screwing up?

Muchos gracias!!!

I asked Wade that exact question!

Essentially, the homepage default view is the view of your tribes, but you can change it to be a view of your listings or your blog or something. I had hoped you could change color/font/layout (I'm a desktop publishing geek), but it doesn't look like you can. Maybe in the next iteration of tribe ...

Here's what I asked, and his (rather cryptic) response:

    > My homepage says in gray "(default view)".
    > Does that mean there are other views I
    > can choose or create? How do I configure my
    > homepage to NOT be the default view? Can I
    > change the background color? Some of my friends

sure does. In the left-hand column on your homepage, there's a link in the my stuff section to a page called My Tribes. That page can be defaulted as well, and we may add other pages (like your messages, say) in the future.
