The Oasis Dance Troupe presents
Saturday September 20, 2008
Doors open at 9:15 a.m. for shopping, swapping and registration
Class begins at 10:00 – 11:45, light snack; swap, then 12:45 – 2:30.
Swat meet - bring items to trade or sell. A vendor will also be present
Candles have long been overlooked as a way to excite the audience. Except for the shamadon (headpiece that holds candles and is used primarily in weddings) many dancers are unfamiliar with this prop. Sherena will teach you not only how to safely handle the candles but will teach you a routine that can cross over into all forms of bellydancing. For the sake of safety, we will be using electric votives. At the end of the seminar, we will darken the room and perform the routine together to show the powerful effect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sherena is a second generation Bellydancer and has performed, as a professional, since age 9. Her dance background also includes both
classical and lyrical ballet, tap, jazz and Tahitian. She was a 4 year member of the Canton Ballet Co. Her passion for Oriental Dance has taken her on many journeys across the U.S. She has learned from the best instructors such as Dalia Carella, Amar Gamal, Kaeshi Chai,
Jillina, Morocco, and Faten Munger. Sherena was asked to join the Bellydance Superstars tours in 2006 & 2007.
A Saturday of Candles with Sherena $45.00 per person
Registration is limited to 40 students
Admission is non-refundable unless cancellation of event.
